Steam definitely supports multiple controllers. I'm not positive on DS4Windows. You will only be using one or the other, most likely Steam. They both do the same things, either map the buttons to a virtual 360 controller and/or keyboard & mouse. Just keep in mind with two controllers you have to emulate the 360 controller (steam allows setting this up as a per-game basis). How you would use multiple DS4 controllers is exactly how you would use multiple Steam controllers. Basically, you cannot use profiles that emulate KBM with multiple controllers, but the games supporting splitscreen or multiple controllers anyways you won't be emulating the KBM so it won't be an issue. Also as for number of PS4 controllers, this is determined by if you use a generic Bluetooth dongle or the official PS4 dongle. The official PS4 dongle only allows 1 controller, but gives you the ability to use the 3.5mm audio jack and gives less latency. Bluetooth adapters depending on the quality can allow many more than 1, but typically have more latency and don't work with the audio jack. I will be grabbing the official dongle for my room personally because I want the audio jack and if I have friends over it will be in the basement with the Steam Link I'm going to be grabbing soon. Now, I'm not sure if you can have multiple dongles to allow for multiple controllers but that can certainly get expensive. I would recommend you use a generic Bluetooth adapter if you want to use multiple controllers. Here's the one I use with my PS3 controller: https://www.amazon.com/Kinivo-BTD-400-Bluetooth-4-0-USB/dp/B007Q45EF4

You might need a USB extension cord for that one, because my recliner is too far from my TV I had latency issues. It needed to be like 3 feet away from me to not experience any latency. It might be the adapter is crap, but its the one a lot of people recommended to me. This is also another reason why I'm just going to get the official dongle.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the DS4 has gyro, which is a major advantage over Xbox controllers.

DS4Windows.com recommends this one, InputMapper recommends this one. I think either of those should work okay, because they've worked for other people before. Personally I opted to just get two of the official adapters, but that costs a little more. I wanted the audio support, and at least for me the range and latency was better with the official adapter. I do wish it supported more than one controller, though.

Protip: You can get one for $25 from Amazon. The only downside to the 360 controller, in my experience, is that the D-pad sucks. Newer models have a better D-pad, but they'll also run you about sixty Earthican buckazoids.

I also have one of these. Games don't tend to discover and auto-configure to it as well as they do with the 360 controller, but it's good, solid hardware. The buttons and analog sticks are precise and it's got a good hand-feel. Most importantly, the left analog stick and D-pad are on what's called a "Cyborg" module. That means you can pop it out and turn it around based on your preference. For instance, if you prefer a Playstation-style layout, you can have it. Hell, for 12 buckazoids and free shipping, it's worth trying.

I haven't tried the Steam version of GTA4, but yeah, when I played the PC version in the past it was completely painless. The 360 controller is supported by default: http://support.rockstargames.com/entries/479429-currently-supported-controllers-for-gta-iv-pc

You'd need something like this if you don't already have a controller. It contains both the controller and the USB wireless adapter. You can also get a normal wired one but for the small price difference, I would go wireless. Just personal preference.

Use isthereanydeal.com. Great site to find best deals or history of sales. Looks like the complete edition is at a good price right now on amazon.

If you look at the price history, the lowest price on steam for CivV complete was $16.49 (last summer sale). Currently it's $16.67 on amazon. It MIGHT go lower that that on the next sale because a new Civ game is out but you cant really tell for sure... and it would probably be around $10-$15. So, if you dont want to wait two months to see if you can save $1-$5, I'd just get it now.

EDIT: Didn't realize I had an affiliate link to amazon from isthereanydeal.com. fixed it.

I did the same thing! Grab one of these guys and you're set:

http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Telescopic-Controller-IP117/dp/B00MUG3JPU

It's like having the WiiU tablet right in front of you. The sticks have a slight deadzone that I'm not thrilled with, but it works great for stuff like Skyrim, Portal, or Darksiders.

u/septag0n · 1 pointr/Steam

I use this, easy to set up, great range, up to 4 ps3 controllers at once, great for emulators as well.

u/Diarrhea_Bubblebath_ · 7 pointsr/Steam

One of these with a phone dock would work pretty well.

Edit: then again, a PS4 controller would work even better since it's easier to hold with something top-heavy attached, and phone docks have existed for those for forever.

So I have the original Skyrim game on my Steam account, but not the DLC. Now I'm looking to get the DLC, but it's not on the store anymore, only with the Special Edition. I have a low power PC so I don't want to sacrifice more performance with the special edition, so I was wondering if the original Legendary Edition physical would be what I'm looking for? And also the UK version is almost half the price, so if I bought that would it be compatible with my US Skyrim license? (Want to keep my saves)

u/Die4Ever · 1 pointr/Steam

Actually yes I have plugged a KB+M into my phone, usually I use an xbox 360 controller though with this

http://www.shapeways.com/product/GHA4J4BVJ/xbox-360-controller-motorola-nexus-6?optionId=42933531

and I also have one of these on the way

http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Telescopic-Controller-IP117/dp/B00MUG3JPU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425668994&sr=8-1&keywords=ipega+pg-9023

Yea the graphics are mostly the same for these games, some of them are indistinguishable like Five Nights at Freddy's or The Room, maybe Vice City too. The source code is not an exact match no, but neither is it the same for Linux/Windows/Mac, although a lot of these games use Unity and other engines like that so the development of the different versions would have barely any differences. Keep in mind most of the newer engines work on Android, like UE3 and 4, Unity, even Crytek with Crysis 3 being ported to Android. Some of the games on Steam were actually mobile first anyways.

u/Mejti · 4 pointsr/Steam

Just saying, if you're in the UK you can get it for £15 on amazon (physical copy), which is £2.50 cheaper than steam right now. Free delivery, so yeah, if it doesn't go to/below 50% off then do that if you wanna save a little bit more.

Link!

A bluetooth adapter would only set you back 10 bucks.

I recommend this one. Works great with my DS4.

XCOM:EU. You can customize your squad to resemble your real-life friends. Here's Day9's playthrough, pretty loltastic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2NL9k1mIXo He only completed part of it; it's very hard.

$9.99 on Amazon now: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ECHYTKY (Steam)

u/yeyuright · 1 pointr/Steam

ye... gotta love how narrow minded posters are, prob oriented, duh. here's soln oriented instead; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DCDTSRI. there are few other stores dat sell old single key copies.

u/ta1ntdude · 1 pointr/Steam

I've used a bunch of different 360 controllers for PC. Of all of them the best one is the Logitech F710. Its wireless and games recognize it as a 360 controller. It has the dual analog stick orientation of the ps3.

But you can just buy the adapter and use your existing 360 controller too.

u/Nwambe · 2 pointsr/Steam

Some Steam deals are available through Amazon, like

SKYRIM FOR $15

AND Bioshock Infinite for $6

AND Fallout 4 for $20

u/nogodplease · 1 pointr/Steam

http://www.amazon.com/Sid-Meiers-Civilization-Complete-Online/dp/B00I4C2EKA/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1419660185&sr=8-5&keywords=civilization+5+Online+Game+Code

I found civ. But it doesn't have the same discount as steam. I'll get my brother to buy it on steam and give him that amount from my amazon I guess. Thanks.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/Steam

I got Civ5 with Civ4 and the Stronghold Collection from Amazon for $19.99. I played Civ5 for nine or ten hours yesterday.

2K Strategy Pack [Download]

u/remmus2k · 2 pointsr/Steam

Oh no i forgot to mention the controller. There's a telescopic Bluetooth controller i use with it that stretches over it. Lettme find the link and show you it

Edit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MUG3JPU/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_c3.Dxb0WMQY2N

This is a pic of my tablet with it. It stretches pretty well and doesn't fall out

There is a legendary edition: https://www.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls-Skyrim-Legendary-PC/dp/B00CJ7IUIQ

And yes it will unlock all the dlc.

u/mpheus · 5 pointsr/Steam

Just FYI, keep your eyes on Amazon sales too. They have 2k Strategy Pack with Civ 4 complete, Civ 5 GOTY and Stronghold Collection for $19.99. Bioshock 1&2 pack is for $7.5 (I don't think steam can go lower with this). Both of these packs can be activated on Steam.

u/unforgiven91 · 3 pointsr/Steam

A standard wired controller

http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-360-Wired-Controller/dp/B003ZSN600

should work as a simple plug and play. Mine does.

u/StayingOccupied · 2 pointsr/Steam

Yeah i use the 360 wireless with a USB adapter. For emulators i use this HERE

u/VKilledTInternet · 1 pointr/Steam

If you can wait for the sale.

Otherwise I highly reccommend this Bundle from amazon

u/Koitenshin · 2 pointsr/Steam

You want a PC controller? I suggest you actually buy something decent such as the Logitech F710

I own one of these and it works for everything. If the game doesn't let you rebind keys, get JoyToKey.

u/Coigleach · 2 pointsr/Steam

This voucher didn't work for me, they may have decided to discontinue the promotion.

Anyway, Amazon has a similar deal where you can get 15% off with the code 'Gooncave', and also have Bioshock Infinite for $29.99, $25.49 with code.

u/Speedswiper · 1 pointr/Steam

Get the complete edition for under 20 dollars on amazon!

u/Black3ird · 1 pointr/Steam

Think wider as http://isthereanydeal.com/ search give https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DCDTSRI which is the Base Game (without bundle).

Although it does not have "Ultimate" tag, PD2 got a name change as seen at https://steamdb.info/search/?a=app&q=payday+2&type=1&category=0 (no separate appid) so old naming copies sold at legit Steam key shops will activate non bundle "Ultimate" version.

u/OxENBY · 2 pointsr/Steam

Buying the Legendary Edition from Amazon.co.uk costs £15 and I believe you get a Steam key with it.
Take a look here

u/Purple7up · 2 pointsr/Steam

Same bundle is $9.99 on Amazon it includes codes for steam download. Coupon code GOONCAVE for extra 15% off.

EDIT: Does not include All Stars Racing Transformed.

u/tallkido · 5 pointsr/Steam

Brutal Legend is in a great bundle on Amazon if you missed the Humble Bundle & want to get it.

Anodyne is even cheaper on the developer's website and comes with a Steam key:

Don't get X-Com from Steam. Buy it from Amazon.

Also don't buy anything from Steam 2K wise. Amazon Gamefly and Greenman have cheaper deals with them usually. Hell I bought BSInfinite for 12 bucks from GMG >_>

In terms of wireless connectivity, I was screwing around with a DS4 last night and a generic bluetooth adapter (This one to be specific). You have to enable the DS4 steam support through Big Picture mode (and to do this, you do have to actually turn off the controller, then remove the blutooth adapter, then plug the adapter back in and turn on the controller), but after that, it works with no issue. Messed around with a few games for a very short period of time, so by no means an expert in terms of how the controller is set up, but I could set it up as if it was a Steam Controller. I plan on playing around more with it tonight.
