Guys, what's a good place to buy a hardware jig online?

Also to sanity check:

  1. I am about to buy a switch with serial number XAJ70011xxxxxx. It's hackable, right?
  2. I will buy this SD card for lasting pleasure: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074RNRM2B/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
  3. Do I need extra controller for local play with a friend? Or stock ones are good enough for duo play?
  4. Anything else I forgot to buy/do? usb-c to usb-a cable? card-reader to connect my sd card to my windows10 pc?

    Thanks!

Interesting, well your 256gb sandisk card is like the latest & greatest model sandisk makes I believe. So I guess what is happening here is the U1 card I tested against link probably has lower speeds \ write rate than your newer model Sandisk U1 card.

I guess it would also help if we knew specifically how long your rev2 install takes to know just how much faster each card may be. We pretty much just press install and then lose track of things until we notice install is complete. Like I really didn't expect that install to take 53 minutes, but sure enough an episode of Better Call Saul completed before it did haha.

Edit: Oh and I only used the Xecuter menu to install the .NSP files. I could try double check some of these tests with devmenu \ tinfoil to see if there's any difference there.

I can't take another photo yet but this is the case: https://www.amazon.co.uk/HORI-Switch-Game-Card-Case/dp/B01NASY99Z/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1537085939&sr=8-6&keywords=switch+game+case

But in all honesty, I wouldn't suggest buying it just for this reason. The only reason I used this was because I already had everything at hand unused and just decided to bodge it all up, it's rather large and clunky but gets the job done without having to spend any more cash haha.

I personally use my PS4 controller on the Switch with the 8bitdo adapter and it works great wirelessly with rumble and motion as well. Also connects to PC. I haven’t tried it myself but the Xbox One controller should work too.

For any curious, there is also a Mayflash adapter which looks like it does basically the same as the 8bitdo one for around the same price.

Pretty sure the official Nintendo licensed carrying case includes 2 game holders that also include a game sized micro SD case.

Op bailed out, but here are the sources:
Pokéball Analog Caps
Blue Joycons Shell Replacement
Zelda Screen Protector (included in a bundle)

Edit:
This is actually the screen protector. Found by u/hanleaf254
and the Joycon shells are the DPAD version, but I think the ones I found are better.

Hmm I just bought this 15 feet cable:
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00LBJ780O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If I use a ground loop isolator, will it degrade the quality of my 3.5m aux cable?
Because I am looking at some ground loop isolators and I can't even seem to find one with a jack that is gold plated. (not sure how it matters for sound quality)

The Fospower seems to be good sound quality like if you use a ground loop isolator that doesn't use the same level of quality in the 3.5mm jack etc.. won't it make my entire fospower cable obsolete in a way?

Thanks for your reply btw!

This is the best I've been able to find, however I can't find it much cheaper.

Normally somebody would use one of These. The pad would be glued in place using a special heat curing paste. Then, the conformal coating of the trace leading up to the pad needs to be scratched away with a very thin needle. From there, you can solder the two pieces together.

The other option is to follow a trace to the next component, and then solder a wire to both the component and the connector. But you'd also need to glue the connector down for normal use.

I have one from [Aukey] (https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Ground-Isolator-Systems-Included/dp/B01L1NP7YI)

Edit: apparently the 14.50 dollar isolator from Kript is better at handling bass according to the top review, but it's also more expensive.

The metal kickstand on amazon has a single SD holder in it.

If you have a PS4, Xbox or Bluetooth controller you’re better off getting this 8bitdo. Let’s you connect to the switch in docked and comes with an adapter for handheld. Not very good for handheld but is an option

u/reckless-man · 2 pointsr/SwitchHacks

Hmm..... What did you install the NSPs with? I feel like I've installed much much quicker than the 50+ minutes... Assuming this is a u1 (not even going to try and say it is 100% because SD cards confuse me) https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074RNRM2B

A bit late to answer but there is a USB hub made by HORI and is officially licensed by Nintendo. You can get it here. I own one myself but have only tested it by using controllers with it and it worked fine and charged my switch at full speed. Check it out if you want.

Nyko has this plastic replacement coming out at the end of the month: Nyko Kick Stand Multi Pak - Nintendo Switch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DNRFKN7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_GDxVBbG9AHDKE. They already have a metal version but it's known to dig into the switch's plastic.

You can hook up an OTG cable to your phone and connect the controller to your phone through that!

u/Mechaghostman2 · 11 pointsr/SwitchHacks

I'm personally using this. Anything labeled UHS-1 is gonna be the fastest card the Switch is compatible with.

Found an answer to my own question. This product is 100% what I need. I can break it open and redesign the stand so that it cradles the hard drive.

Just to give you an idea of my setup, I'm using this USB stick. And I'm running that with an otg adapter. It's decent priced and much lower power draw and space required to carry.
