This is kind of unsolicited advice, but if you want to enjoy the game way more I suggest buying a boxed copy of the game from amazon for Founder status. The perks you get are massive (8 character slots on every server, full bank tabs, a 280 speed account mount, 2k in gems, 2 Semi-enigmatic scrolls, and a BoE 280 speed lion mount which can be sold), especially for the $17 you spend on it. If you feel constricted as a free player, getting Founder status will make you forget you'll playing a free to play game.

We just picked up these and they work super well. Just plug them in and ready to go -- comes with batteries too. Like the other guy said though any USB keyboard will do the trick.

Technically 0$. But to make things a bit easier at the start, the 20$ founders is recommended or the 100$ collectors edition if you feel the tangible items are worth it. Both give you lots of bank space, character slots, mounts, etc. Bank space, character slots and better mounts can be bought later with gold or C$. There's an optional 15$/mo sub or per month 1 time scrolls. The perks may not appeal to all.

I thought standard and founders was the same.

I bought the standard / founder / non-CE version of Tera and it came with 8 char slots, 4 bank tabs, an account wide argon looking blue horse and one tawny huntress for one character plus some minor consumables.

CE I believe comes with all that plus an account wide frost lion mount. Plus some physical stuff like a compass, map, soundtrack and a few other things. If you just buy the key, then I'm guessing the frost lion mount would be the only difference pretty much.

BTW, you must enter the code backwards to get all of the items. I entered it forwards (from left to right) and only got some items and then did it backwards (from right to left) and got the rest.

Happened to me too on another toon, ugh it was frustrating!!!!!

As for character creation limit, buy this cd from amazon, then redeem the code- gets you free mount for ALL characters, and 8 slots on all servers!

Probably, they did this for the last two characters i believe. If you need slots i recommend spending $15 to get tera on amazon the code will give you founders edition and you will have 8 slots on every server plus a bunch of other stuff. you enter the code twice once just as its written and then backwards for the mount and stuff. Obviously you need to buy it new, dont know how many there are when you see this. You might also be able to get a code on kinguin or g2a.

You'll also need extra buttons for other stuff like charms/scrolls/potions/brooch/pets/emotes/noct/spam/sitmacro other shit and offloading some of your skills to your mouse will help a lot. Plus pressing just one key to cast a skill is always faster than pressing two keys.

Some people selling on Amazon will do that. Just need to request it. I did it with the standard edition with my Husband's account. My main account has the collectors edition but the seller sent me the code for that one ahead of time while the physical collectors was posted.

I use one of these. Pretty handy since I main healer classes, can set up to 5 DPI profiles along with lighting profiles. I've had it for maybe a year now, no issues with it so far other than the little thumb rest that gets in the way sometimes ($45.99 USD excl taxes and shipping).


If that's still too much, there's also the Redragon Perdition. Haven't personally used it but it's getting decent reviews, not sure if you can customize its DPI profiles but it's cheaper ($34.96 USD excl taxes and shipping).

In case that's too difficult for you, let me spell it out for you.

We established that Cyclone does more damage than Evasive Smash yes? They both have double crit glyphs yes? (Assuming you glyphed crit rate and power on Evasive Smash.)

Evasive Smash and Cyclone have the same crit rate.

So let's say Cyclone has a 60% crit chance.

So you average Cyclone will have 3 hits crit and 2 hits white. Agreed?

Now lets look at Evasive Smash. With a 60% crit chance, you have a 3/5 chance of it being a crit, in which case it will do more damage than the Cyclone, and 2/5 of not critting in which case it will do significantly less damage than Cyclone.

Now that's only looking at a single case of Cyclone vs Evasive Smash, which we cannot do. A more reasonable test comparison would be 100 instances of Cyclone (for a total of 500 hits) vs 100 instances of Evasive Smash.

For a 60% crit chance for both skills,

Cyclone -> 300 critical, 200 non-critical

Evasive Smash -> 60 critical, 40 non-critical

Follow?

Now let's compare 300 criticals of Cyclone to 60 criticals of Evasive Smash. As previously established, 5 hits of Cyclone will do more damage than 1 hit of Evasive Smash.

300/60 = 5

Thus, using Evasive Smash over Cyclone will always result in a loss of damage, to say nothing of the loss in DPS from the additional time Evasive Smash takes to execute.

Please, learn some basic high school math before you post again so you don't look like an uneducated peasant.
