I bought a 9x12 Fancierstudio press from amazon as my first heat press which has been great but it's too small. I regret being impatient and not waiting until I could get a 15x15 which was the recommended size on most sites I researched. Other than that size issue I quite like it. The price was good and it heats up in a decent amount of time. Heat seems even from the stuff I've pressed but I've never checked it with a thermometer. When I upgrade in size I'm definitely going to try and stick with fancierstudio.

I found this Titan on Amazon for ~$500. The info says it uses a stepper motor, though, despite the picture saying it has a servo motor. Then there's this one on the USCutter website for ~$800, it states it uses a servo motor and a few other features like a vacuum to keep the material flat. Is the Titan 3 the new series and that's why it's more expensive than the Amazon listing? Now I wonder if I should turn this passing interest into a business.

IMO cameo silhouette is the better machine and is in the same price point.

https://www.amazon.com/Silhouette-Cameo-Electronic-Cutting-Tool/dp/B005Y1CPSUCameo is actually made by Graphtec. I started out on a cameo and found it very easy to learn. You're going to waste a bunch of vinyl in the beginning but that's normal. If you find you need to cut bigger pieces of vinyl you can pick up a UScutter SC series.

You're looking for transfer paper! Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Jh-Best-Crafts12-Transfer-Alignment-Adhesive/dp/B017Y20RI6

Although, I usually just use the backing off scrap vinyl. So for future reference save some off your scraps! If you have some vinyl you won't use just trash it for the backer.

For travel I would roll it up with the vinyl facing out. Roll it loosely if it's too tight the vinyl will get wavy, usually that can be fixed during application but imo it's annoying. Tape it up, and not too tightly, a rubber band will leave little dents in the vinyl!
