you need an external sound card like this:
https://www.amazon.com/EC-Technology-Aluminum-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B014F2VUO8/ref=sr_1_14?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1480617365&sr=1-14&keywords=external+sound+card
be sure to get a usb extension wire as the PS4 is just an awful shape that doesn't fit usb's that have a large base like most sound cards
OR
a DAC with an optical cable like this:

a suggestion for a mic if you need a great one that's cheap:
https://www.amazon.com/Sony-ECMCS3-Omnidirectional-Stereo-Microphone/dp/B0058MJX4O/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1480617666&sr=1-3&keywords=sony+omnidirectional+microphone
you can also use any mic that plugs into a usb slot like a blue snowball or other desktop mic. I'm not sure what exactly your setup is so I can't really tell you whats best but hopefully this helps.
New XIM4 user, I’ve had it for a week and have been using the G502 (which has been amazing) and a cheap keypad from Amazon.
This specifically —> ACEPHA T9 Pro Gaming Keypad Gameboard with Programmable Keys 7 Color LED Backlit, 16-keys Rollover, Brand New Key Layout and Anti-Fatigue Wrist-pad https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZY5GJ7X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_hamhAbH4BV2JQ <—
It’s cheap and works great! Having said that, I was in the same boat as you. No need for anything fancy... And my transitions been great! Considering I’ve been a console gamer with ZERO KB/M experience.
I understand in order to use a mic you need this....

However, I just wanted to confirm that the PS4 pro will recognize both USB ports actively. One USB port will have the xim4 plugged in supporting the keyboard and mouse, and the other USB port will have the above adapter plugged into it supporting the headset and mic. Both USB ports are being used for the one game we are playing by one person with one controller. Is this correct? Thank you in advance.
Just purchased and set up my first XIM4 yesterday. Here is the headphones I purchased to resolve the issue for PS4. I went the USB route.
Mpow USB Headset/ 3.5mm Computer Headset with Microphone Noise Cancelling , Lightweight PC Headset Wired Headphones, Business Headset for Skype, Webinar, Phone, Call Center https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06XWG12QS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_5MCaAbZGT8HQV
Yea, you will have to have a long enough wire if you gaming from the couch but for the price point you actually getting decent headphones. not only that the way I see it you are getting 2 in 1 headphones and the USB adapter
Hope that helps.
[this one?](Zelotes THINKTANK T90 9200 DPI 8 Buttons, Wired USB Gaming Mouse, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017PA4OZY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_AS6gybYJGCKRS)
It does 9000 dpi. Someone recommmend me use that with a xim 4. Bought it already. Waiting on it to arrive today. Can't give personal feedback but button layout looks similar enough. And you'll get great latency with it.
Same with my Astro A50. Something like this would solve that problem.
Or you could just unplug your XIM when not using it.
