If you don’t want to paint panel lining is the minimun Imho. Either a 0.1 mm tip pen or specific lining paint.

Might melt the plastic too much or make a clean cut, not sure. I have something like this too in the closet, probably should get around to seeing what it can do!
Looks like polishing compound. Polishing Compound (Amazon Link). I wash it off before priming (like others recommend). Panel liner can be used to achieve the affect after the fact (as was suggested).
