So my Ragnar hated the car too. He used to scream (generally in my ear....) he hated it so bad. I felt awful about it but he needed to go to the vet or be in the car to get places that he loved (hiking up a mountain, etc) so we started doing short rides a couple times a week. Particularly to places where he would be happy like the pet store to pick out a new toy or a park to play. He started associating the car rides with good things not just the vet and we went on longer and longer rides. He now LOVES to ride. I admit I also do not put him in a carrier and it is dangerous. Not because I worry about him affecting my driving (getting under the pedals etc) but because if we were to get into an accident he would certainly get thrown around the car and get hurt. But he loves to look around and watch out the window so I did buy a seat buckle that attaches to his harness that will help with that.
I also started training him with a backpack carrier that he can go in and out of the top if I leave open which I almost always do. If we are out in public and he's had enough (people love him and are very curious about Bengals) he'll retreat into it on his own. He just hates being confined but once he figured out the top is normally open (except when he's being cranky out or something like that) he doesn't mind it at all. I also leave it open in the house on the floor so he really thinks of it as his space. I don't like the pod style because it looked like it would trap heat in and since we hike alot I wanted something breathable and comfortable for both of us as well. So we went with this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01DXO5J78?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
I also have a very large 14lb (and still growing! ) Bengal so this may be a bit big for the average size cat. It's great for hikes or even just a walk around the park. And it's easy for me to throw over my shoulder in case I need it or not.
These things worked for my boy really well and hopefully will work for your girl! It was a process and training definitely took some time but the reward is well worth it. I hope this helps and good luck!
That’s so exciting! We initially looked into getting one of those capsule backpacks but the reviews said it wasn’t very well ventilated and the acrylic dome constantly has scratches and curious nose marks.
Ultimately we went with the Snoozer [4 in 1 Back Pack with wheels.](Snoozer Roll Around 4-in-1 Pet Carrier, Khaki, Black & Blue, Large https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0054U47NW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_6U4iDb1EA5R7R)
It’s got a mesh that keeps the inside pretty cool, and a clip for your cats leash/harness so they can poke their head out the top if they like. Our cats are also huge (idk how big your kitty will get) but the rolling function definitely comes in handy.
The only cons so far is since the weight is all at the bottom of the pack, it can be a little uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time (or maybe our cats are just heavy lol)
I've looked up some of the resources for you that I have found helpful in the past and can give you a better idea of how to clicker train your cat. It takes a lot of patience and needing to pair the behavior you're desiring with the sound of the click and then the treat. This helps kitty know that the reward is contingent on the behavior.

Some examples of clickers you can purchase off of Amazon:

My kitty also loves my salsa journeyman! Unfortunately she loves the way the texture of the tires feel against her claws! She loves riding on the bike though. We got her this little carrier that mounts on the rear rack of the bike and she treats it like her princess carriage. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.amazon.com/Trixie-Biker-Bag-35-29cm/dp/B000A216HE&ved=2ahUKEwjKss34zrjiAhVLJzQIHYdwAacQFjAKegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw2Jhd_w0FJhtwvcJiWecXu1&cshid=1558853873628

This is the one I got! Kitty loved it and pretty much slept the whole time. Some times he didn't even want to get out 😃
After lots of people on this sub said they liked the Petfits one with the pockets. I heeded their advice and got it
https://www.amazon.com/Petsfit-Comfort-Carrier-Backpack-Cycling/dp/B07G35NJX8
He seems to love it though he prefers sitting on it instead of in it. Get the grey one since it's apparently the only one with pockets. They're just big enough for a baggie of food, his leash and a few other things we'd need.
On Amazon! Kamots Beauty Escape Proof Cat... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T112CLN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
We use this
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07M8FBV6M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and it works good, but we didn't bother to research much before we ordered one, we just chose one with decent enough reviews
He is just about to outgrow a kitten harness and I have one of those mesh ones like this https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07GF5W1SQ/ref=twister_B07GF7BHLP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 ready for him. Its just that if they're backwards it seems they can squeeze out of anything if they try hard.
Flexi! I use size S with the cord.

Not OP, but I think it is this one https://www.amazon.com/Petsfit-Comfort-Dogs-Carriers-Backpack/dp/B01DXO5J78/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=petsfit+backpack&qid=1567520935&s=gateway&sr=8-4
Currently he has this one (sorry, on mobile and don't know how to link): https://www.amazon.com/Escape-Proof-Cat-Harness-Leash/dp/B074MWRZ5Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=escape%2Bproof%2Bcat%2Bharness%2Bwith%2Bleash&qid=1570126478&s=gateway&sprefix=escape%2Bproof%2Bcat&sr=8-1&th=1&psc=1.
I'm not positive which one he had before, but it was very similar to Come With Me Kitty, possibly that exact brand since they do sale it in our pet store where I got it.
