Buy NEW amiibo from: TRU is the best retailer with a diverse group of amiibos. Other than that: Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Game stop and Nintendo store. To get more rare amiibos, Beat the Bomb is an Australian retailer that ships to the US. The Australian dollar is worth less than US dollars so when you convert the prices, it is competitive. There is also NinNin but that one is more expensive and shipping is high.

Buy resale/used amiibo: Craigslist. Other places similar to Craigslist: Facebook marketplace, OfferUp, and Let Go. People have also reported being successful on Amazon Warehouse.

I like these clear acrylic stands, the 12-inch version is a good size for all but the largest amiibo, which I just put on the top shelf. They'd look good on any shelf IMO, but as the reviews state, they're a perfect complement for Ikea detolf or similar standing glass display cases and fill out the available vertical space in there amazingly well.

Sure. I just checked France and Germany, both of which would've been the easiest, and both have sold out in the past two days apparently. The last viable option would be preordering Rosalina from Amazon Japan. It's bit more of a hassle, but I believe it's cheaper than the European options that are sold out anyway. I suggest using Chrome to browse the site, so you can translate the language easily. You might have to use an importing company like Tenso to bring her to you, depending on where you live. Good luck! I actually had cases like these when I started getting into anime in high school for trading and capsule figures. I will say they are nice but they start to show their age pretty quickly if you are constantly getting in and out of them. They can attract fingerprints like crazy, and will get fine scratches like a cd/dvd on the clear plastic. Personal opinion, I would go with this simple 8 dollar spice rack.

A good indication is usually the little prime symbol. If they have that, it usually means amazon themselves is fulfilling the order.

So unfortunately, for your list Captain Falcon and Marth are being sold by third parties, and Shulk isn't available at all yet. You ~could~ get an Ike, and I think it'd cost you about $30.

Another good option for Marth might be amazon.jp? But I'm not familiar with that site, and you do need to somehow secure a shipping option to ship internationally from them, even though that stock of Marths is from amazon.

Co-owner of the collection here (my boyfriend and I are both into it), have mostly lurked on this sub since December with the occasional post. Some answers to the comments:

If you're in the US like me, it may cost you a bit in shipping but it's going to end up FAR less than what he'll go for on eBay.

On the other hand if you want to play on the risky side, you could wait and see if he ends up in stores in the next 3 days like people are saying.

I echo the other user who said any start is a good start.

As for storing/displaying them, a lot of people with OOB collections buy the baseball bat display from Michael's, which mounts to the wall and can hold about 12 amiibo. They are pricey, but Michael's often has coupons (like BOGO deals) to bring down the price.

Others buy the DETOLF display case from IKEA and have tiered risers (like these Azar ones) to help comfortably fit more amiibo on each shelf. I plan on doing this, but I'm looking for a display case about twice as wide as the DETOLF. I have enough floor space to spare.

Or you can get cheaper risers (Walmart sells a bamboo spice rack that works great) and put that on any spare shelf you have at home.

If you're planning on getting every single amiibo and have the space, I really recommend just getting this, as its a lot cheaper than buying those cases:

It fits 18 perfectly, which is enough for waves 1 and 2 completely. Not sure what I'm gonna do when wave 3 hits, but it was 7 bucks or so at bed bath and beyond, and I think it looks pretty good for a low cost solution:

It looks so small though! I think the overall small size would bother me. I have a bookshelf in my room - I don't use it for Amiibo though, since I have Michaels baseball bat cases - but it's normal size one that I feel looks a lot better. This is mine here. Could most likely use those clear stands like this or something too.

This should comfortably hold 18-20 Amiibo but you can buy multiple. I have the 15-inch and the 10-inch right next to each other. Reinforce the small gaps with poster board, then use like half a yard of red fabric to really make it nice.

I've bought quite a few for my collection and absolutely love them. In my opinion, these are a very cost-effective way to display large collections given that each display holds 18 amiibo comfortably.

You can look on Amazon US as well. I've seen a few sellers with decent prices especially if you have prime. 2 nights ago there was a JP villager shipped from the U.S. for $25. Meta Knight is $30 shipped now from the U.S.

If you're able to get them in stores I'd say try there first. If you want to buy imports check on the ones that you want because you may get lucky. Villager is hovering around $60 though so I'd pass in getting him from there. If you can't find them try looking for the alternate names.

Someone stated that they preordered an amiibo that they believed to be Female Corrin at GameStop about a week ago. There wasn't a name to the amiibo on their receipt, but they seemed sure that it was Female Corrin, but that was before we found out we were getting two of Cloud and Bayonetta.

There's no way that Target or TRU would get a Bayonetta figure (imo), so Best Buy or Gamestop seems likely. Corrin could go anywhere, but I think that placing Cloud or Bayonetta in stores like GS/BB would possibly get fans of the series to pick them up, even if they don't have a Nintendo console.

EDIT: Actually, it looks like Cloud (or Female Corrin?) may be an Amazon exclusive

Not sure which team you work on but there is an Parent/Child ASIN mismatch for Toon Link as of today.

Parent Amiibo ASIN is: B00N49RAXO

Toon Link ASIN that is under that parent which is incorrect: B00PIEI0PU

Toon Link ASIN that is under that parent but does not get reported to the Product Advertisment API and is the correct one is: B00PG6Z9VI

When you check the Product Advertisement API for Offers under the parent ASIN, you get all expected Amiibo except for Toon Link, that one you receive B00PIEI0PU but instead the one that should be returning is
B00PG6Z9VI.

Not sure if you can file it with the retail team or whichever might be able to correct it.

I also just found this right now if you want to go bigger.

Amiibo are roughly 2/3 the height of a CD case, so any shelving designed for holding CDs usually holds amiibo pretty good.

Some of the international Amazon sites have them for a reasonably close price. Amazon.de (Germany) has been my best bet. Villager is about $18 USD give or take.

Make sure you're logged in and your 1 click is right then when some one post or just randomly check and when it's available you got to hit that 1 click button fast. Sometimes it will go out of stock but keep refreshing for a min or 2 and see if it comes back on. Does that help?

Amiibo aren't region locked so it shouldn't matter that it's Japanese if he's gonna open it and use it. If it has to have the US box however then he's hard to find cheaper than $35.

Smash Toon Link doesn't seem to be available from Amazon JP itself and only 3rd party seller. I don't think third party sellers ship globally.

Here is Japanese King DeDeDe for you. I can confirm that I ordered on Thursday last week and it was at my doorstep Saturday night. Amiibo box was in perfect condition.

We have no idea. For reference, Villager took almost a full year to restock in America, and Wii Fit Trainer still hasn't seen a proper restock (in America at least, but importing her is relatively the same price as buying MSRP in America). Watch the Japanese imports on Amazon if you don't care about it being Japanese. There's literally no difference in the figure, just the box, but the prices are almost always better to import. Right now it's not so good, but Nintendo of Japan is better and quicker with restocks than Nintendo of America is.

You would need at least 2 for the SSB set, and the SMB are taller so I'm not sure how well they'd fit, vertically. Right now Ike looks to be my tallest, and the top of his head just clips the feet of Yoshi on the shelf above.

The thing is, anyone is able to do this. Most of the rare amiibo I've acquired I've gotten from just watching online retailers or by keeping an eye on stock trackers and heading over when they're in stock.

Plus, this is significant less relevant than 10-20 years ago, where I would be more inclined to agree with you. Now anyone with a bit of persistence can just sit at home and buy them. Since nearly every online retailer has limited orders to 2-3 of any given amiibo, this levels the playing field significantly.

Staples sells in packs, kinda expensive.. There is also another size that they offer.
Somewhat cheaper alternative would be wooden spice racks from Amazon, although not many amiibo fit in that I believe.
