Since it sounds like you're gonna open them, buying Japan imports from Amazon is your best solution in most cases. Robin and Lucina are impossible to find in US stores, but their Japan imports on Amazon are $17.56 and $18.00 respectively. Ike was restocked in GameStop, so you could call a few local GameStops and see if any have one left. Otherwise, Japan import on him is $15.11. Marth would be cheapest to get from Best Buy. If any local ones have him left, you can get him in-store to save the shipping cost, but he's still available online at MSRP if you don't have a Best Buy nearby. Shulk is an odd one... he was restocked at GameStop, Best Buy, and Toys R Us. You can use the in-store locator to find one in a nearby GameStop or Best Buy, you can call Toys R Us and ask if they have any left (I can't find his page on their site anymore), or in a worst case situation a Japan import of Shulk is $13.99 on Amazon (TRU's MSRP). Remember that if you have Amazon Prime, all the prices I listed are Prime eligible. Otherwise, $35 purchases get free shipping (so Robin + Lucina off of Amazon would net you free shipping). Roy is also available at GameStop online, but it hasn't been confirmed yet if he'll be compatible with Fire Emblem Fates or not so I left him out of the list below.

The IKEA Detolf cabinet is really nice. Looks fantastic, and is very affordable, I believe its 60 bucks. Ive seen so also other collectors on this sub also use the detolf cabinet, and everyone ive talked to about it loves it as well. I also use some typical acrylic risers from Amazon. Makes it so each shelf can hold around 36 amiibo (4 shelves, 144 amiibo total).

This list of Japanese sellers on Amazon is the best way I've seen recently to get a Meta Knight. I ordered one last month for a little under the $16 USD minimum they have right now, and it came with free shipping from Japan. Might be your best bet.

Also, a mod made this post a while back listing a lot of rare amiibo from Japanese locations for under $20 on Amazon.

The Detolf is great but not very suited for displaying small figures like Amiibos.
However these help them display much better.

MSRP in Japan was roughly $30 so $50 including prime shipping seems fair if you're interested in the whole bundle.

It's always a possibility, but the only one that knows is Nintendo. Mega Yarn Yoshi was released on November 15th, about two months ago. It took Nintendo an entire year to restock Villager, but it finally happened. So it could be restocked soon, or a very long time from now. If you don't want to wait, you can always look into importing him from Australia, United Kingdom, Japan, or Europe.

Meanwhile, the average price of a Smash Bros. variant Dedede amiibo imported from Japan is about $15. And the Smash Bros. Meta Knight goes for over $20, while the Kirby variant goes for $5.

They are really nice! You can also scan the amiibo still in the case! Sadly, I wanted to leave my Gold Mario NIB, but his card was bent, and when I opened the shipping box, I accidentally scratched the front plastic with my knife.
