Thank you very much, at the moment I’m sans a macro lens for my rebel. So I bought this clip-on lens for my iPhone 8+, I’m pretty sure it’ll work on android too if you’re not a fan of apple. Good luck filming your friends colony, and make sure to post it!

Honestly I would encourage you to join our discord server and try and get 6-12 pics of her from different angles. once you are on our discord server we have a channel for identification, where you can post all of the info including the pics. I would also highly recommend, if you are interested in ant keeping to get a Macro lens for your iPhone on Amazon, something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B076H9CYL1/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They're terrain molds for model railways, tabletop games, etc I get them on amazon, the company makes several styles, they're super detailed and work great! Classic Rock Mold Woodland Scenics https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000WS7DA?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I am using this one, because of the cheap ones that I could find at the time this had the most stable adjustable holder. That's also been the main obstacle in using it, getting stuff in focus, especially at higher magnifications is really hard because just the weight of your hand when adjusting will cause a small deviation and then your remove your hand it will be out of focus again.

In the end you get what you pay for and I have no doubt you could get a much better one if you want to pay a bit more, but the one I have is OK for playing around with once in a while. I also made this video, and this one of my other colony for a bit more example of what you can expect. This is the best picture I could get from a dead T. nylanderi worker.

Just a cheap usb microscope I got off amazon Cisno USB Micro scope the stand is crap for the most part and focusing takes some getting use to, but I didnt want to spend a lot. It takes pretty decent pics and video though so can't complain to much.

I got these - https://www.amazon.com/Root-Naturally-Soil-Moist-Pound/dp/B010CY7NJY/ref=sr_1_16?keywords=water+crystal&qid=1569386739&s=gateway&sr=8-16

Get a small plastic lid and throw a decent amount on there and they can stay hydrated for quite a while.

Carrots you'd have to replace everyday.
