>How accurate does this look to everyone? Anything that should be added

That's the major bulk order. There are others but those are the ones worth reading that actually matter to the overall story line.

>Is there a best/nicest way to purchase these? (i.e: Library Collections, Paperback Volumes, other varied collections)

I would recommend the library edition volumes to be honest. They have a good sturdiness to them and a nice separation between volumes. However, I would recommend getting Angel:After the fall slipcase edition, which in most cases (depending on where bought from) works out cheaper and looks nicer. The slipcase edition contains all of Angel: After the fall.

Totally agree! I don’t think his internal thoughts were an issue in Earshot, definitely typical for a high school guy! I think the seeing Buffy naked bit comes from maybe 4th or 5th season? I distinctly remember him being over her and with Anya and they’re at the Bronze and he makes a joke about it. I wish I could remember the episode.

There’s a great book called Sexual Rhetoric in the Works of Joss Whedon that’s gets into this stuff really well if you’re interested. His work has been covered by so much academia and it’s really fascinating to delve into!

Oh my lanta, that's a lotta Buffy. Love it! Those Ominbuses (?) are difficult to find. Actually, it may be that I just need to find better used book shops in my area... that could be it. Mind if I ask your opinion on "Pretty Maids All in a Row"? I've seen it before but just didn't know how well I would like a Spike and Drusilla book. Also, the Joss Whedon one? Is that the same as this?

Great collection!

I'm pretty sure there are no other collections, but I do believe the collections you own have been successful, so I suspect they will continue. There are two books that I don't believe will be collected in those due to their length that I highly suggest. I'll post links below for the two, also, if it's your cup of tea there are a series of Buffy choose-your-own-adventure books that are quite a bit of fun!

Shockingly comfortable! I was surprised to discover they were thinly lined as well, so they didn’t stick or make a ton of noise, there is a high waist and part that is the only bit unlined. They also come in black, and I’m definitely getting them!

I also bought those apparently “infamous” super expensive Spanx faux leather leggings for like 4 times the price to have a comparison option. They were awful. Going back!

Hi everyone. Excited to dig in. Before I do I first wanted to mention a couple people.

The channel's spectacular opening credits for both Buffy and Angel were designed by a gentleman named Asad Manzoor. Check out his youtube channel.

Music for the channel this season is being composed by an incredibly talented man named Wil Hughes. Go and have a listen. His stuff is wonderful.

Lastly the channel would not exist without the wonderful book, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Myth, Metaphor, and Morality by Mark Field. It's 99 cents on Amazon. A DOLLAR.

All right. Going to pour a coffee. Brb.

This is a really good book: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0742516814/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you're interested in the writing aspect of the show, listen to Dusted. It's a really great podcast.

I can almost guarantee that you will enjoy the Dresden Files books by Jim Butcher. The protagonist is a wizard who works with Chicago PD on magic related and other supernatural cases. There are some strong female characters, a sort of Scooby gang eventually, lots of vampire intrigue, and while the sense of humor isn't exactly the same, I find it to be in the same neighborhood, just a little geekier. Here is a link to the first book in the series.

What I've read thus far has been a mixed bag. There are good writers who seems to really get the characters and write them the way we have come to know them. But there are some who seem to have very little understanding of the characters. And of course, the canon thing is always a problem. When a lot of these books were being written/released, the series was still running. So they could set a story in "the future" using season three's characters, and it seemed fine at the time. Now, of course, we know Faith won't be there, Willow's a witch, et cetera, et cetera. If you can get past the fact that the books vary in accuracy (I like to think of them as quirky), they can be fun reads.

If you want a starting place for the Buffy novels, I highly suggest these three books. They each collect three complete Buffy novels, and they're quite affordable.

EDIT: Sorry, had some problems with editing and spacing. It should make sense now.

First of all, yes that is the "in-universe timeline" order. It's also, essentially, the publication order. 'Tales' and Fray came out around the same time. After The Fall/Spike and Season 8 also came out at the same time, but After The Fall definitely takes place before Season 8.

As for your second conundrom, just remember that everything is in groups of five. Let me see if I can break this down effectively... I'm going to abbreviate 'Buffy: Season 8' to BS8.

This website is kind of perfect for fixing your confusion. It lists absolutely everything, including single issues, trade-paperbacks (the 5-issue volumes, listed below), Library Editions, and Omnibuses.

BS8 Omnibus Vol. 1 (issues 1-20)

-----BS8 Library Edition Vol. 1 (issues 1-10)

-----------BS8 Vol. 1- Long Way Home (issues 1-5)

-----------BS8 Vol. 2- No Future For You (issues 6-10)

-----BS8 Library Edition Vol. 2 (issues 11-20)

-----------BS8 Vol. 3- Wolves at the Gate (issues 11-15)

-----------BS8 Vol. 4- Time of Your Life (issues 16-20)

BS8 Omnibus Vol. 2 (issues 21-40)

-----BS8 Library Edition Vol. 3 (issues 21-30)

----------BS8 Vol. 5- Predators and Prey (21-25)

----------BS8 Vol. 6- Retreat (26-30)

-----BS8 Library Edition Vol. 4 (issues 31-40)

-----------BS8 Vol. 7- Twilight (issues 31-35)

-----------BS8 Vol. 8- Last Gleaming (issues 36-40)

Hope this helps. I'm open to answering any and all questions. Lay it on me.

Basically a large format book that brings together some of the best art and line drawings from a run of comics. See the 2007 BtVS: Panel to Panel for an example

u/LilyGinnyBlack · 17 pointsr/buffy

This is from an actual book. Someone just took the pictures of it and uploaded the pics to their Tumblr blog. :)

Damnit, I needed something else to spend money on like a stake to the heart. Blah. And there's a Serenity one...hhhhh.

I cant find complete sets of Buffy season 8 but here are some links:

Frey

Angel: After the Fall These are the canon comics of Angel: After the Fall. They did continue but were renamed to just Angel and the first volume is called Immortality for Dummies But as i said, this is not canon and Joss is not connected to this, AFAIK.

Spike: After the Fall

Spike: The Complete Series

And here i just searched for Buffy season 8 on amazon, you should be able to find all 8 issues here.

As i said, i just recently started gathering info about these comics, and i ordered all of this myself 1 week ago, aswell as this, which i couldnt find on amazon.

Willow: Godessess and Monsters

And here I sit, waiting for all of my comics to get here.

Quick note: I picked up the e-book for Myth, Metaphor, and Morality (the one that PotN uses) and it makes for interesting reading. It's cheap enough, but if you don't want to spring for it, a lot of it comes from this site.
