The Cannabis Encyclopedia - Jorge Cervantes

It covers everything you’d need to know. It also has an illustrated diagnostic section, which for any novice grower is an invaluable resource (ie without needing the Internet)

A brief overview of the issue or curiosity I’m having is usually covered which I can then use to focus my attention toward a more in-depth resource.

I also recommend: Growing Elite Cannabis - Ryan Riley

I have an older digital version of this book, it has been republished so I’m sure they updated some of their information but this tome (516 pages) has a lot of good information. It’s easy-to-understand and has tons of good images to help illustrate the techniques and processes for all the major. It’s pretty costly (~$90-$100), but depending on your level of interest it could be a great investment to your growing knowledge.

Happy Growing!!

See if this link works: https://www.amazon.com/Active-Air-inch-Line-Fan/dp/B002JQ4N92.

Also, definitely get a fan speed controller and set that baby at the lowest setting. These guys can really go and you're not gonna need all of that CFM for such a little tent. The key is that these fans can create higher pressure (to overcome the resistance of the filters) at lower CFM (to not turn the whole room/closet into a wind tunnel).

If you then hook up the fan to a temperature switch it'll only run when the tent gets hot enough. This will save energy, create less noise, and also avoid creating temps that are too low at night if you like your apt to be cooler while you sleep.

This is all way more info than you asked for but it'll be a really nice, easy system and it'll work with any size tent if you decide to go bigger in the future.

Grow details: This is my first grow, and I thought I would share my experience.

Strain information can be found here and here

I Initially transferred 4 clones (purchased from dispensary at 20$ per) into 5 gallon black plastic buckets. Grown indoors for 4 weeks (May 2018- June 2018 ) in my sun room, with a raised lamp to provide light for extended hours and veg cycle. I just used an old lamp from my chicken coop, nothing special.

In June, I transferred all 4 plants into 65 gallon smart pots of a high nutrient soil (Rocket Fuel, Rogue Soil)

I transferred the plants outdoors into the 4 corners of my vegetable garden. They spent 4 months there, (June through September) They were periodically topped, bent, and trimmed to achieve an open canopy rather than christmas tree shape. Plants were fed according the General Hydroponics Organic feeding schedule.

Each plant grew to be about 5 1/2 feet tall, with a 5 foot diameter canopy.

By the start of October, the days were short enough that the plants began to show signs of flowering. At this point, I heavily trimmed the plants for all material that was not receiving direct light ( a process referred to as lollipopping).

A this stage the nights were also beginning to get quite cold, down into the low 40s and high 30s. This, as well as the beginning of wetter conditions, prompted me to move the plants to the front of my property and place each one on furniture movers that I purchased from home depot.

Each evening at dusk, I roll my plants into one of my empty garage spaces and every morning, I roll the plants out into the sun.

I am a 100% amateur grower, and am very pleased with my results so far. I do not claim any type of expertise, as i'm sure i made many mistakes along the way.

If anyone would like some more pictures from the whole grow let me know! Also happy to answer any questions.

I remembered I have one of the most popular growing books as an eBook. Here is a link to download Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana Grower's Handbook. If you feel conflicted about pirating books you can buy it from Amazon also. The other really popular growing book, Jorge Cervantes Marijuana Horticulture, can be found here.

If you mean 4 x 2" footprint, what is your height? Because with a little plant training, that area is begging for a t5 light. 4 x 2 isn't that big of a space and you'll only be able to do about 2-3 good sized plants.

For that size space i'd use an 8 bulb, 4 x 2 t5 lamp with 64 or 6500k HO bulbs for veg. It will help keep plants short and good training will make them fill up nicely.

For flowering I'd switch to 2700-3000 k HO bulbs if my training went well (screen, lst, wtfever) and my plants were short and full. If the plants didn't train well and have multiple layers of flower nodes, i'd switch out to a 400 watt hps or a GOOD cobb led lamp.

but that's just me.

Harvest now. Try again for next year. I think it is the heavy dew that sits on them all night till the sun hits them. the dew just gets down into the buds night after night and causes the rot. I think in the fall it is best to cover with an agricultural fabric like remay.

I've run a 1000w light and cool tube without cooling it before and suffered no ill effect. I adjust the amount of airflow based on the target temp of the room the lights are in.

4 x 8 tent with two 1000w lights will need 700 - 800 CFM but this still raises ambient temp by 10 degrees Fahrenheit.

Ducting distance also plays a large part in the fan you purchase. If you're just pushing air over the light to lower its operating temp this should do it for both lights.

If you are taking the heat out of the room and are running anything close to 20 ft of tube use a fan like this

Can anyone help me out and let me know of any ways you can come up with to make sure these don't leak?

u/WinstonWonders · 1 pointr/cannabiscultivation

Yes and no. Roots coming out of your pot is not a bad sign. What is a bad sign is if these roots are circling the bottom of the pot. This is where roots become root bound and transplanting required. Smart Pots solve this issue. They're made of fabric that root hairs grow through. Once the root tips poke through they're "pruned" in a process known as air pruning. This causes auxins to flow back up the root system and encourage branching. Highly recommended.

You can also use orange or apple, or even products like Boveda or RAW Humidfying stone.

Apparently iceberg lettuce can help too. But I like the ceramic products as they don't produce mold when forgotten about (this happened to me. lost a whole jar)

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/cannabiscultivation

I don’t. Going to buy this and this . That work? What about sulphur you mentioned that?

u/Vierzwanzig · 1 pointr/cannabiscultivation

I have 2 of these, they are push a decent amount of air and I put a few holes into the base and have them zip tied to the walls.
