I have a simple goal lamp that's just hooked up to one of these so I just use the remote to turn it on.

Sure, you can set it to scrape goal data from the internet, but it will be tough for you to get it in sync with the TV feed. I think the TV is usually quicker than the online feeds. If you have a DVR and you delay it a few seconds, that could work, but if you're like me, you'd have to stay off social media to avoid spoilers.

The only thing I can think of is manual lighting, unless you go as far as screen recognition for when the score HUD is updated. Audio recognition doesn't seem viable as Joe B won't have the same delivery every time and you wouldn't be able to use the home ice goal horn for a trigger for half the games...
