If you haven't gotten to try it yet, the newest version has starter set for about $12.

Comes with an abridged rulebook (the set is designed for characters up to level 5, so it doesn't give you any spells they wouldn't have access to, or monsters that they wouldn't be able to face), a pre-written adventure, a set of dice, and some pre-made characters (Obviously, you're free to make your own instead though)

I highly recommend it for anyone who's interested in getting started with tabletop RPGs. The newest version of D&D is designed to be very beginner friendly. This set lasted my group almost a full year, playing about twice a month for about 3 hours a session, so you'll definitely get $12 of enjoyment out of it if you can get an eager group together.

To see Dan Harmon respond so quickly, so consistently whenever the show evokes a strong response from the audience, I really appreciate and enjoy it. I'd love to see it all printed in a book as a companion piece, or if the show makes it through and at the end there is a special complete series collection, incorporate it in there. I don't know if they'd do something special, I wouldn't mind them mimicking http://www.amazon.com/Freaks-Geeks-Complete-Linda-Cardellini/dp/B001B73PTO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1320522571&sr=8-2.

There are a bunch of free D&D clones built on the fact that Wizards of the Coasts released the third edition of the game under the 'Open Gaming License'.

A well-written, simple and cheap (the PDF is free or you can get a paperback for about $5 from Amazon) one of these is Basic Fantasy RPG. It's written with those new to the concept of pen-and-paper RPGs in mind.

Its simplicity means it'll be a bit closer to the way they play in the episodes, whereas the current edition official D&D can be quite rules-intensive. Their website also has a bunch of free supplementary materials (extra races, classes, and even adventures for the Dungeon Mater to run if they don't want to write their own).

It's tough to capture, but I think this one is clearer - three different ones, top I pumped up the blacks in the image, bottom I pumped up the contrast and toned down the brightness, middle is a direct capture from VLC playing the DVD itself.

If you watch it frame by frame, it is easier to read, as the light plays across the gun, the EL becomes blurrier in the shots where the TIGRE is easier to see, the shot I grabbed was about the best full shot of the name plate on the marker.

By the way it's a Tippmann TPX Pistol and the portion showing "EL TIGRE" is where the brand name normally is found, so that is most likely the reasoning for replacing the nameplate.

Jeff had just said, "Balance restored, I guess," which is a line from Chapter Eight of Pauline Baird Jones' WWII time travel novel, Out of Time.

EDIT: Just so everyone knows, this is a true fact — but totally irrelevant. lol

Aside from the VCR, strongly reminded me of the card game BANG!

Similarly steep learning curve. Way too much fun.

Looking it up on Amazon shows that these guys like to use movies and tv for their books: http://www.amazon.com/Organizational-Behavior-Improving-Performance-Commitment/dp/007802935X?tag=ap0a7eddd0-20

Surprised they haven't gotten in trouble.

So let me get this straight.
Let's say I want to do what you suggested. I go ahead and buy the box set, which is $82. Let's say I don't own a TV or DVD player (you'd be surprised how many people don't). That's another $24.99 for the DVD player and another $150 for the TV. That's great, but that still doesn't let me watch it on a tablet or phone. For that I would need a computer, but not just any computer, one with a CD-ROM (computers don't have them anymore) or let's just say an external DVD drive, which would be around $25.

OK, now we have our digital copies. The problem is, unless you have a phone with a LOT of space, you can't have all 6 seasons on your phone. You're gonna need to store them somewhere in the cloud, and I won't get into pricing for storage. All of this just so that I can watch it on my phone on the way to work.

Or I could just spend 50 bucks for now.

So who is this one, then? He's my favorite.

EDIT: Apparently they are SUPPOSED be together, but they don't look the same anymore:

Where else? This is on a wooden table and is draw on with a sharpie. I could replicate this type of photo with dozens of books in a matter of minutes just around my house. In fact, give me a few days for delivery from amazon and I can replicate this EXACT photo.

I'm not saying she needs to release any spoilers but there is nothing in this photo remotely indicates its actually from the set.

Spray it with fixative to preserve it for perpetuity!

Just wanted to show I did not make this up.

Oh I see. They released two versions of the new box set. This is the one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HTQUNU4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_bST1BbD629E1Q

Heh ... I just googled a bunch of racist terms along with the movie name, and a lot of .edu papers popped up spanning the past two decades. Sorry I can't give you one definitive article on the subject -- I learned of it some years back in a university course that explored American film movements across the decades. I believe that Coons, Mammies & Bucks would engage some of the issues, and have other footnotes materials. But again, googling the hell out of this could also be illuminating.

Edit: In other news, I don't think I've ever had such racist google search history before.*
