Your face is a canvas and the make-up is like paint. Think about painting in layers if that helps.

That being said, here's my recommendation. You skin is your canvas so you gotta take care of it. Pay attention to your body/skin, everyone is different so use what is working for you. Exfoliate regularly, exfoliating helps clear up pores and scrub away dead skin. I do it daily, again do as much as your own skin needs to. My pores tend to clog easily so I try my best to keep it clean. I use something like this, just a slightly rougher bath sponge, squeeze a little face wash on it and lightly scrub - again this is what I do, your mileage may vary.

Regardless of how oily your skin is, moisturize it. If you have naturally oilier skin like me, use a lighter moisturizer (it feels lighter on your skin not as thick or creamy). conversely, use a heavier moisturizer if you tend to have dry skin. It doesn't necessarily have to be a "face moisturizer" product, lotions work also i've noticed. The point of all this is you want a clean and hydrated skin, it looks younger and healthier. I use, Aveeno's Men's After Shave Lotion. It get's two birds with one stone for me, aftershave plus helps keep my skin hydrated and is on the lighter side (won't feel greasy when it dries.)

The next layer in the painting would be concealer and foundation. Concealers are more pigmented "cover up" work. Using me again, i have slight rosatia/pinkness, concealers help neutralize out the redness to a more even skin tone. Foundation is a less pigmented but does the same thing essentially. Go to a Walgreen's or any drugstore and just look at the color samples. You'll want to color match to your neck so that your general face color blends in with your neck. Taking care of you skin takes time to get but when you get there you shouldn't need much concealer or foundation to even out your face. I like BB Cream No. 23, Natural Biege, matches my color fairly well.

You can pick either of those up or an equivalent product at any drugstore. People won't give you any grief, it's not too common but some males do buy coverup/concealers for acne breakouts so it shouldn't cause too much fuss to buy in person.

As far as applying blush, eyeshadow, liner brows ... the works, it's hard to type out and is best if shown to you. Beating a dead horse, watch the you tube videos and practice putting them on. You WILL get better. I did a quick look through amazon, this Shany Set seems like an okay kit. It has a various color pots to play/practice with. (color pot, the little containers that the actual make up sits in.) Your small round pots are your eyeshadows and the large round ones are your blushes. It looks like it comes with the applicators too, the fancy q-tip looking things are for eyeshadows and the bristle brush for blush. It also has the standard black and brown pencil eye liner, a pencil lip liner, lipstick and some nailpolish.

When it's all said and done, you've read all that you can or watched all the videos you've cared to watch. My best advice I can give you is take care of your skin and practice. Keep putting it on, get a feel for it and learn how certain things get applied. Eyeliner for example, you need to get used to the fact that there's something that close to your eye when you're trying to put it on. With time and practice it gets easier, your hand gets steadier and your eyes don't flinch as much.

Not my best nor my worst, but here's where i'm at on a typical day. http://i.imgur.com/C1vPsxg.jpg

Lastly, baby wipes or makeup remover wipes is good for taking it all off and these on a cotton swab is good to remove eyeliner without any trace.

Canon T2i, which is an awesome camera, but the REAL winner is the f1.4 lens I use with it.

Really wonderful lens, the low light capabilities are amazing. Some of my other posts have pictures, almost all taken with that same lens.

I bought these and they are incredible. They do an amazing job tucking everything into place and holding it there. And if you get your testes nestled into the right spot, they're extremely comfortable. They allow me to wear tight leggings out in public and have everything look completely flat and feminine in front. As soon as I have the extra cash, I'm going to buy several more pairs.

Edit: I'm 5'7", 135 lbs, and I bought an X-small. Perfect fit.

A friend of mine recommended I read her book The Gifts of Imperfection. It didn't have quite as much, I don't know, substance as I would have liked, but it was inspirational and quite good.

I'm afraid I'm already in a relationship (coming on nine years now), but thanks for being so kind. \^_\^

I have a DeviantArt with a bunch of photos of how I usually look. Strong NSFW warning because I did a lot of nude modelling over the past couple of years!

That's too bad about your DM. Have you considered DMing yourself? I'm the DM for my group of friends, and while it's a lot of work, it's incredibly satisfying to see a story come together and see everyone get really invested in it. Grab the 5th Edition Starter Set from Amazon; it's cheap and it'll teach you everything you need to know.

On a side note, looking into it, I'm not really surprised that people think crossdressers don't pass very well. Because we are being represented by this:

https://www.amazon.com/Miss-Veras-Cross-Dress-Success-Resource/dp/0812991958

The transformed version isn't crossdressing, it's drag queen! Which is obviously an overrate rated caricature of what women look like. So they're not trying to pass. Don't get me wrong, I love how artistic and expressive drag is. And the clothes and personas are amazing. But it's not the same as a crossdresser.

You might like the Strong Curves program!

It's focused on developing the butt, but it also gives some attention to arms/shoulders... the idea being that if your shoulders and thighs are muscular, it will make your waist smaller in comparison and give you that overall hourglass shape.

I'm cis female but I had great results with the program!

My legs are done with loofah + Soap mixed 50/50 volume with pumice then waxed with an epilator. the soap/pumice scrub exfoliates and removes all dead skin and opens pores. the epilator keeps a razor off my legs. this isn't for everyone, and i dare say it hurts a bit the first month or so, but totally worth it in the long run. besides all this, if you like having your legs clean and shaven, just keep the rest of your body hair to a minimum as much as you have time/opportunity to and shaved legs don't even register to people when you're pretty hairless otherwise. and if by chance someone asks me about my hairless self i just tell them that i think body hair is disgusting and i remove as much as can for cleanliness

This book might have some stuff you could use:

http://www.amazon.com/Self-Made-Man-Womans-Journey-Manhood/dp/0670034665

There are a few parts where the author is all like "ew, penises," but the CD stuff was interesting. Hope this helps!

Medical adhesive spray (http://www.amazon.com/Hollister-Medical-Adhesive-spray-7330/dp/B0002DMRBA). You need to get the remover as well (http://www.amazon.com/Hollister-Medical-Adhesive-Remover-Spray/dp/B0006ULM6U). Realize that over time, the forms will get damaged, but if you clean them well after each use they will last a while.

Sally Hansen Eyebrow, Face & Lip Wax

Its the stripless kind that I used which seems to work better.

I have the razor mentioned above and have clipped my sac a few times with it even while pulling tight.. Be careful.
I have used [Magic Shaving Powder] (http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Shaving-Powder-Strength-Depilatory/dp/B000142TJU/ref=pd_sim_hpc_2) often and find it good if you have at least two weeks of hair on the legs and "nether regions." Do a small test run on your privates first with this though, as it can lead to irritation but not for me. Also I suggest wearing gloves while applying and removing it otherwise you hands will get nice and soft, and possibly lose all the skin on them (not good)

we were actually moving from Windows XP to Windows 7 and our IT Dept did it in the worst possible way. I'm only an intern and I've become the goto guy for fixes because they're not great... anyway I digress lol

I usually find myself looking online, amazon for heels because they carry my size, and milanoo.com for clothes. I need to have my measurements taken though so I actually know what I can and can't wear. In lieu of money though it's just been window shopping for the past while. All I've gotten so far for myself:

Stockings
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GIP93E/ref=oh_o06_s00_i01_details

Boots
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AD57LY/ref=oh_o06_s01_i00_details

Panties - these got me in trouble with my gf :c
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001UFUU3Q/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details

Heels - I was really nervous about these since they were my first so I got them in a size near my gfs so they wouldn't be "noticable"... it was a mistake
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QC3AIG/ref=oh_o05_s00_i00_details

First purchase tights
http://www.sockdreams.com/products/socks/thigh-highs/opaque-stockings-with-ruffle-and-bow

My taste has been developing as I've been able to explore. Originally I hated heels altogether then sandals grew on me, then pumps, and then at Otakon I grew fond of boots

>Are you intentionally ignoring that which has been previously stated?

Reading about "transvestic fetishism" and autogynephilia brings all the pleasure of reading about phlogiston. Those obsolete and refuted ideas can't stand up to modern views, so they tend to be quite tedious to muck through. It's not so much that I'm ignoring it, as it is simply incomprehensible nonsense.

>the vague notion of "living as a woman"

How is living as a woman a vague notion? I look and act like a typical woman, I expect to be referred to as a woman, my legal documents all show that I am a woman - what is vague about this?

>The very same emotional affiliation which accompanies all sexual desire, in other words the internalized "love" of the object of sexual stimulus, when not sexually stimulated and usually beyond the age when sexual activity decreases.

Is that even a complete sentence? Either way, I guess I get the idea you're trying to express, and it fails. My clothes are just clothes.

Back when I mistakenly thought I was just a cross dresser, I had a deep attachment to my women's clothes. They helped me relieve what Anne Vitale refers to as 'gender expression deprivation anxiety.' I used to get stressed out if I couldn't get a weekend to crossdress. Then I realized that I didn't have to reduce it to weekends, I could wear those clothes whenever I want. Now they're just my plain old regular clothes. They don't have any special importance anymore.

I was wondering why you kept posting links to those fetish fantasy collections, but I realized that you probably have your own gender expression deprivation anxiety. You're posting them because you want others to know that you are one of those people. It's your way of expressing yourself given your current situation. OK, that's fine, whatever tickles your pickle. I don't judge other people's fantasies, and I can understand why those particular fantasies might have some appeal. So if you'd like to hear my explanation, then read on.

This is intended only as an explanation, not a judgement. There are two main issues going on in your latest link to "prissy" fantasy drawings. One is objectification of women and feminine stereotypes, and the other is an immature sexual identity. Imagine for the sake of the argument that someone suffering from so-called "transvestic disorder" (TD) is actually someone with a repressed female identity. This isn't necessarily always the case.

Julia Serano explains in Whipping Girl that due to male socialization in a patriarchal society, trans women often learn to objectify women and femininity. Due to her repressed female identity the person with TD then unwittingly objectifies herself. She takes the objectified stereotypical behaviors and appearance from the objectified woman and places them on her objectified self because she can't help but subconsciously think of herself in those terms. However, since she has not consciously accepted that she has a female gender identity, she often feels shame and tries to stop and return to masculine behavior. Not knowing any better, the shame is then rationalized as sexual behavior and that behavior might look like some kind of masochistic feminization fetish. But 'fetish' is a diagnosis of the symptoms not the cause. My view shows the cause of the symptoms - that she is a repressed trans woman unable to accept her actual gender identity. The characterization as a fetish is superfluous.

The second part of the prissy fantasy images is the infantileism. The subjects are depicted as having an adult male body, but they are behaving in stereotypically childish ways. This is because the repressed trans woman has an immature gender identity. Because she is unable to consciously accept that she has a female gender identity, she resists socialization to become an adult woman. This is shown by the femdom aspect of the fantasy. The mature women in the cartoons are urging the immature trans woman to be feminine, but she is unable to commit to it. The whole thing turns into a parody of femininity.

Jamison Green's words come to mind as an example of a gender identity maturing through transition. Writing about his pre-transition meetings with other trans men, he says the following in his book "Becoming a Visible Man" (p56).

>I wasn't sure I could go on much longer in a female body, living what was apparently a male social role, having a male self-image, and using a little-boy persona to convince people I was likable and not too threatening -- the same little boy act I'd been using since childhood. I had responsibilities now, and it was time to grow up. I felt so certain I could never grow up to be a woman; I was afraid that for me growing up really did mean becoming a man. After all the years of knowing that truth and still trying to avoid it, I was then starting to face a reality that was both exhilarating and terrifying. The men at that first meeting were living proof that I could make this transition.

I also experienced this phenomena of identity maturity when I realized that I was entirely unable to live as an adult man, but I could genuinely become an adult woman. I would suggest in a non-judgmental way, that the appeal of "prissy" fantasies might be due to an inability for a repressed trans woman to consciously accept her female identity and to allow herself to be socialized as female and develop a mature adult female identity. She longs for it, but is unable to allow herself to do it. The child-like forced feminization is as far as she can get as long as she allows herself to cling to masculinity. But by embracing her female identity, she can break through that limiting barrier if she likes; she can grow up.

Transition is not for everyone. If someone is safe and stable living through fantasizing, then that's fine with me. But the whole "transvestic disorder" and "transvestic fetishism" and autogynephilia don't make any sense to me. They all seem like different degrees of being transgender, and as such they are entirely unnecessary. Not all transgender people transition. Nobody should be forced to transition. However, severely dysphoric individuals should consider transitioning - not as some kind of lifestyle choice or fetish, but as a legitimate and necessarily medical treatment for severe gender dysphoria.
