I use the primos soft grunt tube seen here and this estrus can call here (https://www.amazon.com/Primos-Long-Deer-Call-Rings/dp/B00AU6G9AE/ref=sr_1_20?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1539271336&sr=1-20&keywords=primos+deer+call). but that kit looks like a good deal.

I do use tinks 69 during the rut. i'll put a few drops right where I want the deer to stop for a shot, better to use to little than too much. I've tried dragging it in on a string but not much for results. I've also hung scent drippers over scrapes which has probably giving me the best results but mostly to get bucks on trail cam.

Similar history with me as well. I'm a hunter by nature, so whenever I get in the woods, it is the most refreshing thing ever.

Have you ever seen a book that had 100% 5/5 reviews? This one does. I bought this book several years ago and it is by far the best, most insightful book about deer and deer hunting in existence.

Start with this book and you will know as much or more than a person that has hunted for 10 years.

Whether you hunt this year or next - get the book.

Ok... Now that you have that covered, get out in the woods (after hunting season) and look for rubs and scrapes.. Its also fun to go shed hunting (searching for dropped antlers) in March or so.

Do that and you've got yourself a great start.

Not sure why you got down voted, but here's a very inexpensive red dot sight I put on my 12 gauge. Seems to hold zero pretty well and has been quite reliable.

Layers man. I got waterproof jacket and pants from Midway for $75 on sale. Get the poly base layer for under $20 and layer up.. Sitka stuff is real good it seems, but not worth the money IMO when you can layer. I use this and it's lasted 2 seasons to date. Going on my 3rd now. Had deer stare right at me and not spook.

Here's one (Amazon). The product description explains the jerky make process in general terms.

Haven't used it so I can't recommend for or against it, just using it for example.
