Here's the boots I use

Stand in puddles of boiling hot water all day, they're slip proof, steel toed, and most importantly, they're only 20 bucks. I've used them for about 2 months now and they're still going strong. none of my other boots have lasted past 1 month
I'd pick up and try a tube of loctite waterproof sealant, for about 4 or 5 bucks at a Walmart or something, the hole looks small enough that a few dabs should seal it.
