>The gimble, it appears to be VERY fragile, should I be concerned when making tight banking moves, and should I always keep the gimble lock on when transporting the drone?

-Yes, always lock it in while transporting. I feel like all it would take is one good drop or catching it on something while storing it and it could rip a cable or part off.

>I saw someone had a DJI app that showed them their flight time, like a data logger thing, it showed them their 'level' etc., (assuming its based on their stats), I can't seem to see this info anywhere within my app though?

    >What cases, other than the official DJI one, are you guys using?

  • I am highly considering this one, but still need to make sure all the measurements line up. It looks like it would hold everything from a fly more package: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CF5OHZ2/

    >Photo settings, again anyone have a good combination for these?

  • I've had great results with stock settings. All editing would be post, anyway.

Going from a discovery to a Mavic, how ya like that left stick? LOL That's the hardest thing for me to get used to is not always controlling the throttle.

I love this case:
Microraptor Pro Cases NEW Phantom 3 Case designed to fit the Advanced & Professional Editions DJI PHANTOM 3 (Black Case, Black Foam) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XM21YC6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_jrPMwbYRP0FEF

Good quality case. Definitely worth it, especially since you can leave the props on while storing your Phantom in it. :)

Probably doesn't need to be said but, be careful ! Always stand upwind so if it kicks up the bird will get blown away from you.

If it's very windy, probably better to just land on the ground and clean up later vs. risk your fingers. You can still hand-launch and get the shots with a clean lens. I like this thing.

I bought [this set](http://www.Neewer.com/ 4 Pieces Filter Kit for DJI Mavic Pro Drone Quadcopter Includes: ND4, ND8, ND16 and ND32 Filter, Made of Multi Coated Waterproof Aluminum Alloy Frame Optical Glass (MC-16) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XYL8RW4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5ns8AbQHZD7W0) for my Mavic Pro. They work well so far. The construction is definitely cheaper than the Polar Pro from what I understand but they fit my needs fine. I haven't had any problems with them and I'm happy with the quality for the price.

I have no idea if these work on the air.

Prop Guards: There's lots of pros and cons. Frankly, I don't use them as I feel the cons far outweigh the pros. There's plenty of YouTube vids and Google hits if you want to see these reasons and then decide for yourself.

2nd battery is absolutely necessary. Who wants a 15 minute flight and then done? Especially if ever going to do real estate photography or the like. I have three and sometimes wish I had four.

Other accessories: I would absolutely buy some filters including ND for your lens is you want to get better photos and vids. THIS is a good set.

Ones for the mavic will fit the spark Signal booster

They boost the signal to help quality when flying within range of your bird of choice. Mavic or spark

If you are asking about airport checks, i would suggest taking off the wings, store batteries in lipo packs, and keep everything in backpack- i bought one of these for my Mavic which i stored in my backpack-

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KN66QRQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I didn't fly anywhere that was populated. Definitely didn't attempt to fly around Hanoi. Ninh Binh had more open space and i kept it in range all the time.

You will have fun with the shots you'll get. Enjoy

This, the greatest carrying case for it by a mile:

Orca Tactical MOLLE H2O Water Bottle Pouch Hydration Carrier (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KN66QRQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_aigQ87ZUVQPJ2

It fits almost perfectly, hold everything and then some.

u/kameix1 · 1 pointr/dji

Check the measurements of the spark. I bet you could fit it in the medium sized square pocket at the bottom of the pack.

Also, as someone in my imgur comments pointed out, this bag is a clone of https://www.amazon.com/Maxpedition-432-Kodiak-Gearslinger/dp/B002XLHCFK

I think the kodiak version is slightly bigger, and probably 100% better in terms of comfort.

I don't think there is a great way to do it... a tracker needs to have cellular data (weight/cost problem), or Bluetooth like in the keychain ones (range issue). For $20 it may be worth experimenting with a keychain one and see how close you need to be to trigger it's alarm, then at least you can hear it beeping when you get within range.

I use something like these for my phantom and they work well. I see a 20-30% distance increase with them on.

https://www.amazon.com/Read-This-Want-Great-Photographs-ebook/dp/B00KS1QM0S

This will cover the basics and is a good read.

Edit: Get the physical copy, it's a good looking coffee table book.

Hi, I am a bit concern now. My GF purchased this from amazon. Amazon being the third party, would you say this is an exception? The seller does say DJI Official

u/Number36843 · 1 pointr/dji

Ape in Large. Mavic fits fine with front props removed. Comes with an inside case which works well for the controller. Also tried 3 Case Logic cases, this one below seems to work well.

Ape Case ACLC12 Zippered Adjustable or Attachable Large Case for Lenses (Black/Yellow)

Will try to get photos in the next couple of days.

I have this one, super happy with it. Has tons of room and plenty of protection for the phantom. Also a comfy backpack

u/AngryCod · 1 pointr/dji

This thing is a game changer and well worth the $23.

u/Theowlhoothoot · 1 pointr/dji

I use lens filters for my digital camera, I would look into seeing what you can use on a drone.

EDIT: Here is a video to explain it for drones. Just buy some off Amazon and test it out.

Cheapest Amazon filters I found:

No, it won’t.

You’d need to purchase something like this.

DJI Mavic Pro Tablet Holder – UZOPI Aluminum-Alloy Adjustable Remote Controller Accessories Bracket Mount Extender with Neck Lanyard Strap for 4-12 Inch Phone Tablets https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071RK5FYY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_gXJeAbHKTWAFV

I use this backpack. Or my bigger bag if I'm travelling with all my cameras. Or my disc golf bag if i'm on the course.

u/Phaedrus0230 · 1 pointr/dji

I just have one of these. The mavic charger is rated at 50w so you could get a much smaller one. You can just run it off your car.

I am getting a 128 GB Samsung Evo Select. Should be fast enough. Got it for 40€, yesterday it was at 67€.

Edit: Can confirm that Samsung Evo Select is fast enough. It's basically a rebranded Evo Plus.
Here's the link to the card (i got mine on amazon.de)

Also, do products like these actually work? Would this solve my problem?

u/morty346 · 2 pointsr/dji

One pic with the sticks removed (my preferred option) and one with them all in for those that aren't comfortable removing

Pelican 1150

I don't know where I should post this but I'll give it a go here.

I want to purchase a DJI Spark with the combo, originally I was going to purchase it directly from DJI but after a quick search it appears that DJI have consistently terrible customer service.

I'm in the UK so currently, my only options so far are to buy it from Amazon (Prime) or Jessops. If the DJI Spark and / or accessories develop a fault, get damaged due to a fault or it just flys off on its own accord, can I send it back to Amazon for a replacement or will I have to deal with DJI directly?

This really is a deal breaker for me as I want to avoid DJI customer service as much as possible

I was also looking at getting it insured by a third party and sticking a Bluetooth tracker to it, hopefully it won't affect its flying capability or send it off balance.

If I've asked this question in the wrong place, please direct me to the right place. Thank you

Edit: "Prime"

There's not much you can do apart from getting closer, restarting or simply waiting. Sorry.

You could always buy parabolic reflectors that you could install as soon as you lose connection. These things make the signal very directional, increasing it as long as you point your antennas towards the RC. This is what I'm talking about, it only costs about 10 buck https://www.amazon.com/Threeking-Controller-Extender-Parabolic-Accessories/dp/B072HFCC2S

I have the Microraptor Pro case & live it. Feels like it would survive quite a beating. I don't think it'll fit as carry-on, but I have no immediate plans to fly anywhere with my Phantom.

It's supposed to be watertight to 1m for 30 minutes.

You need a U3 rated card for that error to go away. This is the one I use with no error
