Next year will be my first one as well in LV I did EDC UK a couple years back and loved it.

But to answer some of your questions.

  1. The tickets and boxes should be held at will call for you and you can pick them up from there, the pick up at will call starts on the Thursday around midday I believe. From what I have been told is best to go later on the Thursday evening as it should be less busy, also the will call will be held at a hotel on the strip so you could probably visit that hotel have some drinks etc two birds and all that. Also if you order more than one ticket on the same order you only get one box so if you and another want one each do separate orders I am gonna.

  2. I have already booked my flights and hotel for me and my missus trough virgin holidays we fly out on the 11th and leave on the 21st so we are there 11 nights at the flamingo which is right in the centre of the strip as for the dates of festival and Being safe on them I'm 99% the dates will be 16th-18th next year, if not worse case I can pay 25 pound PP to change dates etc. I would recommend as you are going to pay for flights Etc like me to not spend so much on the hotel I looked at places like the MGM grand, Cosmo and aria Originally and thought this is too much for a room I'm not gonna really be in. So go somewhere mid range, also the flamingo is better suited for adults on EDC week. So you could book now or closer to the day for prices to get cheaper as you may find last Minute type stuff but I got mine for like 3200 pounds for both of us.

  3. In terms of transport anything better than the link below then take that but from what I hVe seen its the best one other than the EDC official ones. They had a number of pickup locations I am booking with Them for next year as one of the pick ups is like a 5 minute walk from my hotel prices will be cheape than EDC one as well. https://www.juscollege.com/events/edc-las-vegas-2016

  4. Get yourself a camelbak like the one in the link as there are free water refill spots dotted around the grounds and you will need this 😅😅 also this one has a few pockets which is the maximum they allow and gives you space to separate and store stuff. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Camelbak-Products-Mens-Rogue-Hydration/dp/B00EPGTM7W/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&qid=1467326316&sr=8-25&keywords=small+camel+pack

A few other things I would suggest is gum has to be a fresh sealed pack, a bandana or face vale is it is so dusty there from what I have seen and doubles up as a sweat rag, maybe a fan I used my fan I got from a festival in Spain like all night as it was so dam hot comes it handy.

Other than that any extras you like maybe get some kandi that stuff is mega at EDC people love to swap that stuff and you meet people trough it

    I hope this helps.

It's a little pricier(though still a lot cheaper than a camelbak), but I bought a cheap backpack off amazon and put one of these inside last year. The huge perk is that you can use it to spray yourself/others when it gets hot, and also use it to squirt water into other peoples mouths to avoid sharing your mouthpiece! The zip top on the bag is also super useful for quick filling, as you can be in and out super quick(and cleaning is super easy!)

This hydro bladder has lasted me a while, and it is small enough to fit in basically any backpack(I got this one off amazon for last year, which ended up being pretty comfortable, no snagging points to get caught on other people, and the perfect size to stash whatever things in). I would spend the good money on a decent hydration bladder for sure to prevent leaks and last you for a while!

I use earasers. They fit like customs, but only cost $40. I've used etymotic technology and others in the past, and I think these have the most clarity. I've used them at concerts and in performance settings (professional musician ~15 years). Also, I feel like these are the least noticeable in your ears. Mine came with a metal case.

EDIT: No matter which you decide on, WEAR EAR PLUGS. Save your ability to enjoy the music you love for the rest of your life.

Sure!

Basic backstory with moderately more details- I wasn't partaking and knew I'd be partying 4 days in a row, so wanted something to lean on for the last day. I could have made a simple totem... but fuck that, I wanted that dual saber effect.

Polycarbonate tubing- bloody expensive but the core piece for it. I also ran a wooden dowel down the center of one of the lengths because I had it sitting around.

http://www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/plastic_rods_tubes_shapes/polycarbonate_tubes/276

El wire - I had two kits running on one of them and three on the other. In retrospect, I'd rather get a more powerful inverter and just run more batteries in to it- kind of a pain to deal with three exterior pieces.

I think I used this kit... not sure, never know with how much stuff gets posted nowadays.

Other than that, I had a 3/4 inch PVC pipe length about a foot long and a T that was 3/4 by 3/4 with the split off as 1/2 inch. (I know what you're thinking- how's 3/4 inch PVC work? PVC's standard measurement looks at the ID, or inside diameter- while polycarbonate tubing's standard measurement looks at the OD, or outer diameter. I found 1 inch polycarb + some tape around it was able to fit in a 3/4 inch T shaped PVC fitting. Illogical... but I promise, it works.) Tee joint is like this. Then I wrapped the 3/4 inch PVC handle in baseball bat grip tape and called it a day- basically anything to make it comfortable to hold on to.

After that, I ran the wire down the interior of the polycarb and ran the power packs for the el wire out the 1/2inch split off of the PVC T piece. Super glue, screw both pipes in to the tee so that they won't fall off (now I know... screwed that up @EDC, was very frustrating to suddenly feel the piece fall off the handle if you lifted it wrong and have batteries go flying in every direction as it smashed into the ground) and it's lit fam!

To top it off: what's the point in having a walking stick, if you're going to mess it up every time it touches the ground? Fortunately, there's an answer for that! I put some of the rubber feet that you can attach to a cane on the bottoms. Not sure if that was 3/4 inch or 1 inch size, this is just a random link so you get the picture.

Difficulty... none. Hardest part was figuring out which sized pieces to use and finding polycarbonate tubing, could have ordered it online but it was a 20-30 minute detour from my commute so just did that instead. As far as figuring out which pieces to use... I instinctively bought more 1 inch PVC pieces than I'd care to admit. Fortunately it's good for setting up sprinkler systems.

End result? I felt like a shaman bouncing around on my staff by Gouryella, and was able to rally for the rest of Dreamstate after the wonderful set full of uplift.

I also stacked both totems on top of each other and recorded Prydz... haven't bothered to stitch all that footage together yet though. Maybe this weekend- it's cool to see what the crowd looked like from above.

I've been putting my phone into the bladder slot/pocket inside of one of these: http://amzn.com/B00LBK7OSY

Granted you can't access your phone easily but it gives great peace of mind without having to keep something on your waist.

I doubt they would give you a hard time about, but if you wanted to be extra safe, I'd ditch this particular model simply because the second compartment (the zipper). I believe that the less space you make security have to check, the less they care.

I'd consider this model:

http://www.amazon.com/Rockwood-Hills-Basic-Drawstring-Backpack/dp/B002W8SLSG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335123255&sr=8-1

I already got the lime green one. It only has the one compartment and you can choose from many snazy colors.

Plus it's large enough to fit your insomniac water bottle if you have one.

u/Xcapegoat · 2 pointsr/electricdaisycarnival

I got an Osprey pack and put a Geigerrig water pouch. Awesome combination! Plus the Geigerrig lets you get water without sucking on the hose. Makes it easy to share =)

I've tried multiple earplugs and nothing work as well as Earasers in that price range. Still relatively inexpensive, you can have conversations when you're in the crowd wearing these, and they only get rid of the harmful high frequencies.

https://www.amazon.com/Earasers-HEM001-Musicians-Plugs-Medium/dp/B00E2D9HAA/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1496598464&sr=8-1&keywords=earasers+musicians+plugs

The next step up from these is getting custom-fitted musician's earplugs that DJs use. At $200 a pair, they're quite the price but they'll save your ears in the long run.

I also highly recommend you read this article if you're looking into purchasing earplugs: https://edmidentity.com/2016/04/07/dont-forget-earplugs/

Ok guys, I've been looking around online and think I've narrowed it down to either the CamelBak Rogue or the CamelBak Dart. Both for their small profile, but still having small storage pockets and a chest strap. Any opinions on either of these?

THANKS!

u/supersteller · 2 pointsr/electricdaisycarnival

You make kandi with some pony beads and elastic string. You can also use letter beads to make words with the letters. You can also add special beads to make them unique and interesting. The more unique the kandi, the better.

They will have earplugs to give out in the chill down zone by Kinetic but they are the foam kind and they suck for being at a show and listening to music.

I have these and they are wonderful. Any type of "high fidelity" ear plugs will be good for EDC.

u/ub3rr4v3 · 1 pointr/electricdaisycarnival

Amazon link The reviews aren't too bad overall. Some people say these are kinda small and its just the plugs so they can be easy to lose.

Personally I opted for these earpeace plugs but anything is better than naked ears.

u/Beaannyyyy · 7 pointsr/electricdaisycarnival

Yup, just using a generic USB battery pack that I'll carry in my backpack. This one specifically: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B014ZO46LK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've never measured exact how long it'll run but I (very conservatively) estimate at least about 10 hours on a full charge.

Hope to see you there too!

As a girl, these are my go-to for sneaking stuff. Put it inside your bra and you're good to go! Pocksie: Temporary Sticky Pockets (6 Pockets), Beige, One Size https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002ESD4OU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_jyvrxb41WPD3J

If you have Amazon Prime then just search EL Wire and you'll get it in 2 days. Even without Prime, you'll probably get them super quick.

The wire comes in a variety of colors and lengths. They have a controller pack that comes with and usually requires 2 double A batteries.

This link below is for a 4 pack but you can get them singularly or in larger packs. Its up to you.

Small enough not to be a bother to carry all day, large enough to still store your little items like chapstick and gum or whatever. Remember to bring chapstick.

u/Mellyv123 · 2 pointsr/electricdaisycarnival

I bought this. Connected it and tried to wave it a bit. My flag is a little heavy cause it’s made a bit stronger so we’ll see how it holds up

Telescoping Flagpole

u/sinrith · 2 pointsr/electricdaisycarnival

You could try getting a waterproof case to put your phone and credit cards in, I just bought this one

u/tljnfl · 1 pointr/electricdaisycarnival

I took one of these telescoping poles as a carry on to Vegas from Orlando on Southwest Airlines last year no problem: In the Breeze Heavy Duty Telescoping Pole, 10-Feet
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BIEBEPM?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Pole is super light weight and have made several totems over the years using this. Just packed all the actual totem stuff in my checked bag and brought the unalter pole through security. TSA didn’t say a thing.

u/Mrvalencia42 · 3 pointsr/electricdaisycarnival

This what I bought ! I was able to take it on the plane as well

Anker is my recommended brand.

Anker PowerCore+ 20100 USB-C, Ultra-High Capacity Premium Portable Charger, 20100mAh External Battery, 6A Output Type-C Port for USB-C MacBooks, Nexus 6P/5X & PowerIQ for iPhone, iPad, Samsung & More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014ZO46LK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_pHk0Cb1CX9Y37

Lasts me the whole weekend.

u/nexaur · 2 pointsr/electricdaisycarnival

It has to be a lightweight, hollow metal like aluminum. Carbon fiber and fiberglass can pass too, but they’re a bit more costly. I recently got this flag pole and it seems sturdy enough to support extensive flag waving. It’s about 6.5ft. Long fully extended and about 1 foot collapsed. You’ll need to buy some flag clips for it though, it only has the loops to put the clips on, not both.

I'm not 100% if they'd let these in, so still contact them, but you try sunscreen packets
