I'm in the US and don't know much about other AC power sources, but I can try to point you in the right direction. Here's an example of an ideal one that I'd buy myself if I needed another charger:
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Premium-Charger-PowerPort-Delivery/dp/B01D8C6ULO

You're looking for that top port that says "USB PD" - they don't all say that, but if you look around on spec sheets you should find something to that effect. For the specs, you also want to see 9v / 3A if you want quick charge capacity. If it goes to higher voltages that nice but your phone won't use it. Ignore Qualcomm QuickCharge or QC stuff, except if it's QC4+. Anything QC4 and below is not compliant with USB-PD and Essential did not go the Qualcomm route. QC4+ is Qualcomm's latest standard and claims to incorporate all the requirements of USB-PD as well.

Bonus points: In the Q&A there's a note from Benson Leung, a Google engineer that tests the shit out of various chargers and cables. If it gets his stamp of approval then it's for 100% sure a safe and quality charger or cable to buy.

TLDR: If you can find the thing in the link with your country's AC plug you're all set. Beware cheap imitations because they can burn out your phone in extreme circumstances. Fast charging is more complex than the run-of-the-mill cheap USB chargers we've grown used to.

edit: I looked some more and the comments and reviews say it works internationally, and that looks like a standard AC cable so you should be able to swap it out for one of yours and plug it right in. I'd do some more reading but that looks like a good bet.

Best options I could find (in order of best quality to worst quality in my opinion):

Anker USB Type-C Premium 5-Port 60W USB Wall Charger PowerPort+ 5 USB-C with Power Delivery
$33 after Coupon: BESTPD55
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D8C6ULO

Monoprice Obsidian Series USB Type-C Wall Charger 45W
$17
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B078TPFKZ6

USB C Charger, CHOETECH 18W Power Delivery Type-C Wall Charger
$15
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071SHKFRB

Honestly, if I were you, I'd get either the Anker or the Monoprice, depending on your specific needs. I own the Anker and love it, but it's a bit large for traveling. I've had my eye on the Monoprice but it's been at $21 (which for a 45W charger is still cheap!). I only found the $17 price today thanks to compiling this response for you and actually ordered two for myself. It doubles as being quite sufficient for most laptops that charge via USB Type-C, which is awesome!

Hardwood has some give to it, not so much with tiled floor or concrete. Good to hear it held up, have not dropped and am not planning to drop my PH1 anytime soon. If you are looking for a screen guard this is the one I recommend, follow the 5 star reviewer's installation method, that would be me 😀.

This one
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GKSPMCQ

Works for me under Pie, but there's some AR problems. Fiddling with SecondScreen improves it somewhat.

Haven't tried under Oreo. It could be perfect.

u/wowsher · 1 pointr/essential

This one has cutouts and the reviews on the 360 working are split.
I found this on Amazon:
Essential Phone PH-1 Case, Linkertech Slim Air Armor Thin Fit Silicone Gel Soft TPU Bumper Durable Flex and Easy Grip Protective Case for Essential Phone PH-1 (Black)

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B079FK7TJS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

u/eastlibertarian · 3 pointsr/essential

I had the same exact problem--I also have a VW Golf. I bought this cable and it works like a charm: Anker PowerLine USB C to USB 3.0 Cable (3ft) with 56k Ohm Pull-up Resistor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A6F3WHG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_ELuQRDeHM44vi

u/Chedfo · 1 pointr/essential

Just looked at that one. In the revieews someone has a ph-1 and says it works perfectly and seems legit. What do you think? https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B075WSC1J9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_.AE4AbPCE4Y3E

Its a nice thin case unfortunately sides are shiny and it has the pin cutouts but back is matte :)

u/donthewadd · 1 pointr/essential

I bought this over a month ago. It shows 'charging rapidly' every time. Works great.

Nekteck USB-IF Certified USB Type C Car Charger with PD Power Delivery 45W & USB-A 12W for Macbook 12-inch/ Pro 2016, Pixel 2/ Pixel XL Galaxy S9/ S9+/ Note 8/ S8/ S8+ More(USB-C Cable 3.3Ft Included) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075WQQG7C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ElC4AbBYXW2AX

u/RawSlugs · 2 pointsr/essential

Maybe, but I'm thinking something small that won't make the phone bigger.. maybe thin enough to fit behind the tudia cases
Similar to this idea https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y5FDXD4/ but not wasting the USB port

u/DeviceManager · 1 pointr/essential

Yes, i ordered one that works 100% off Amazon for $16.99 and it includes a c-type charger port and USB-A Port...

Thank you.

My 8-pack J&D screen protectors will be arriving today, so I'll see how they are. I didn't even want an 8-pack, but after hours of research, that's what was the most highly recommended to me. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073ZBNLMB)

u/PlaidStallion · 1 pointr/essential

Seconded. I have the removable cable version and have been happy with it.

u/dildologist · 1 pointr/essential

I went ahead and ordered this Anker PD bank. Going over USB C to USB C, or USB A to USB C, it always charges rapidly. It comes with a USB C charger as well that's good quality, a C to C cable that I haven't had any issues with, and a nice carrying bag. It's 20,000 mAh and I've gotten 5 full charges out of it during a trip and still had juice left.

I picked it up when it was 99, but it's down to 79. Worth it in my book.

The only option to go wireless will occupy your c-port always.

A qi receiver is attached (under a case) to allow charging on a qi charging mat.

This means no headphones or aux unless you have the HD Audio accessory.

If you don't care about wired sound, you can connect to other things via Bluetooth.

Here's a link to some hardware:
Feel free to mix it up to your preferences...

Yeah that's the sad truth. I'm using this one: [8-Pack] Essential PH-1 Screen Protector, J&D Premium HD Clear Film Shield Screen Protector for Essential PH-1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZBNLMB?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I think we're going to be out of luck in the tempered glass department due to the curves on the edges. I ordered https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0751MV6LK and this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073ZBFDM3 - haven't received either yet.

So I have a 2018 Impreza, AA never worked, bought this, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A6F3WHG?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

And it connects instantly. Hope this helps.

You have to use a USB PowerDelivery charger, as this phone doesn't have QuickCharge technology. I'd recommend these (none are affiliate) cables car charger and I typically use the stock charger brick, but I believe that this one should work, but I haven't used it.

u/abuell · 1 pointr/essential

I think the wires inside the braided sheath torque themselves to failure. I would stay away from small diameter braided cables for usb-c(OEM cable size).

Recommend this anker USB PD for its protected neck

u/fourpoint5toes · 1 pointr/essential

Just checked Amazon and they have the phone + 360camera for $399, possibly only for cyber Monday.

u/sylent_knight · 1 pointr/essential

I recently picked up one of these for wireless charging, and it's worked really well for me. I use it with this case, but you could use it with any case, so long as it was thin enough

u/coldie80 · 1 pointr/essential

Actually, might have sent the wrong link (sorry!) this one says the $399 (USD) deal is on for a few more hours - hope you get in before the price jumps back up!

This is what I have. Even comes with a charger. Can't recommend it enough. Charges both USB A and USB C, Simultaneously.

I have the Tudia Glost and Tudia TAMM cases. Neither are too bulky and they both have excellent buttons.

Glost looks better and has smaller sides, so it's easier to touch the extreme sides of the screen. I find that a lot of dust gets trapped in the top speaker cutout. The back is very slippery, which can make it fall off of magnet car mounts when you go over a bump. It'll slide around on the magnet quite easily. It's slippery enough that on regular table I can spin the phone on its back and it spins probably 12 - 15 times with a weak push.

The TAMM case is much grippier, which is great. The sides are a bit bigger and sometimes that makes it more difficult to touch the sides of the screen. The fingerprint sensor cutout feels nicer (it's smooth, whereas it's a sharp corner on the Glost case). The case has some ugly styling on the back, but it's better than in the pictures on Amazon.

I currently have the Glost case on due to the side touch problems with the TAMM, but I'm going to try to cut the TAMM's side pieces a bit. Without that flaw the TAMM is a more functional, but uglier, case.

u/graesen · 1 pointr/essential

tudia has a ceramic-feel "bumper" case but it's a pre-order and I'm a little skeptical how it'll hold up. The back is tempered glass and the sides are a rubber/TPU bumper. The back might not help improve grip any, but the sides should. And a tempered glass back? How would that hold up after drops? Is it useless when the back shatters/cracks?

Also...

>dry fingers just can't grip...

Try wet hands. This phone becomes a wet bar of soap in the shower.

I swear by Skinami skins - 1/5th the cost of Zagg and free warranty replacement everytime - including FREE shipping! At first, I had a glass screen protector on my essential phone but as others have reported - BAD CHOICE! The edges do not stick and you get a nasty outline all around the perimeter of the screen. I ordered my Skinami screen protector on Amazon and it was at my house a couple days later - unfortunately, its not a prime item yet.
