**Edit - I missed the key dates in that PS3 to PS4 FAQ - it ended in April of 2015. Still, you can get ARR for PS4 digitially from Amazon for 19.99 and get HW physical copy from Amazon for 17.18, so total cost for ARR and HW on PS4 is 37.17 right now. It's a little more than just buying HW for PC but not much. It's a matter of how much playing on PS4 is worth to you vs playing on PC.
All platforms play on the same servers. I too bought PS3 and PC when it first came out but I upgraded my PS3 account to PS4 when the PS4 came out.
It looks like this is still a free option. Instructions for how to upgrade your PS3 account to a PS4 account are here. You can also get a copy of Heavensward for the PS4 for $17.18 from Amazon right now if you don't mind waiting a few days for physical delivery.Personally, I love playing from my PS4 and find it more convenient than PC in some regards (but less so in others). I would recommend investing in a wieless usb keyboard for your PS4 if you don't already have one, makes chatting a lot easier.
If you decide to use both platforms, be aware that the biggest drawback is that character specific data such as keybindings and gear sets are saved locally so if you update your gear on one platform then access your character from a different platform, that updated gear set will not have been saved and you'll have to manually equip the updated gear if you change classes.
I'll answer the ones I feel like I can give you a decent answer to
No, but I have good news! Right now the PS3 version of the game is on sale for super cheap.
http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Realm-Reborn-Playstation/dp/B002BRZ79E/
And as an added bonus, if you buy a PS3 copy you can UPGRADE to PS4 for free until April 1st.
So, save yourself money and get that PS3 copy and upgrade it to PS4 right away. If you want to you could also buy a second one to still have access on PS3.
BECAUSE THIS IS FUCK YOU FRIDAY I HAVE TO PREFACE THIS WITH RAGE; I AM BEFUDDLED BY, BUT ADMIRE ANYONE'S ABILITY TO PLAY AN MMO WITH A CONTROLLER. IT FEELS LIKE TRYING TO THREAD A NEEDLE WITH A 500 DPS DRG'S NOODLY E-PEEN TO ME.
I USED DS4WINDOWS FOR ACTIONY STUFF BEFORE AND IT WAS JUST FINE. IT EVEN CAN USE BLUETOOTH IF YOUR PC HAS THE CAPABILITY. ANOTHER WAY IS FOUND VIA THIS ARTICLE USING INPUT MAPPER. A THIRD WAY IS TO BUY THE OFFICIAL PS4 BLUETOOTH DONGLE
I HOPE ONE OF THOSE WORKS!
If you have money to burn, maybe try a Logitech G13: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G13-Programmable-Gameboard-Display/dp/B001NEK2GE
I've never used one myself, but I helped a 1-armed FC mate when he was looking for something to replace his dead naga for his monk and that seemed like it might be a pretty decent solution. It has the added bonus of being useful still after you get out of the sling too.
Though it would be nice if anyone with one could chime up and say how well they work.
If you really want to craft, you can do what I did, knowing I'd need all crafts at 50 I raised them all simultaneously. I would go from 1 to 5, then 5 to 10, etc all the way to 50 with each job. Every 5 levels I'd craft myself a new HQ set of equipment for all jobs to use for the next 5 levels and convert the old set.
By the time I hit 50 on all jobs I was able to nearly max meld all my accessories from the converted materia I had leveling the jobs. I probably would have had enough if I had made new equipment the moment it was spirit bonded and converted it then...
TLDR: Skip the SSD, go with SSHD instead - link to drive included in post below.
As another poster has already said - an SSHD is going to be your better option with the PS4.
I did a fair bit of research about 9 months after the PS4 launched before upgrading. In most cases the performance of an SSHD is greater than that of a full SSD. In the cases that it's not, the differences are minimal. I've been running an SSHD for 2 year and it definitely makes a significant difference... Plus, it's cheap to get a 1TB, so you end up with a space upgrade at the same time.
The PS4 base system does not take full advantage of the speed an SSD can provide due to the SATA bus used in the base model. This does not appear to be the case with the PS4 Pro, which will see a fairly significant increase in speed from an SSD.
In my testing on FFXIV, the SSHD reduces the initial load time of the game by approximately 4-6 seconds as long as FFXIV was the last game i played. If something else was loaded since playing FFXIV then the load time is slowed for the first load as the drive moves data to the SSD portion.
Zoning times are reduced by about 1-5-2 seconds when loading into a dungeon (regardless of what other games have been played - the data appears to be fully cached on initial load of the game). Even though i'm on a standard PS4, i regularly load in to a dungeon while 1 or 2 people are still zoning.
For reference, this is the drive that i have currently:
https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Gaming-2-5-Inch-Internal-ST1000LM014/dp/B00B99JUBQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1483206432&sr=1-1
There is a newer model available now (which is cheaper than the current price for my drive as well): https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Firecuda-2-5-Inch-Internal-ST1000LX015/dp/B01LWRTRZU/ref=dp_ob_title_ce?th=1
The newer model has the same size NAND/SSD (8GB), but has an overall higher transfer and cache rate partly because it's a 7200 RPM drive instead of 5400. Plus, you can go all the way up to 2TB with the new model and it [should] still fit in the PS4 (i'm going off the dimensions listed on Amazon for the 2TB, because the 2TB is a double platter do a bit more research into whether this is accurate or not if you go that route).
Hope this helps!
The experience is awesome, like others have said. Keyboard is a must, mouse optional with the pad on the controller. If you're curious, here's the keyboard and mouse I use; they work like a charm and are super cheap.
Logitech Wireless Combo MK270 with Keyboard and Mouse
Anyone know the best place to reserve the game, for early access? Would digital download work best?
Also, I heard there was supposed to be a breakdown of the CE box, has anyone seen this?
EDIT: AMAZON LINK... good info here
http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Collectors-Download/dp/B00CX9L30W/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1369349309&sr=8-5&keywords=final+fantasy+a+realm+reborn
I find it hard to play on just keyboard and mouse due to all the buttons you need.
I really like using one of those MMORPG mouses (pretty much mouses with a numpad on the side), takes some time to get use to, but are great once you adjusted to them.
There are alot of them, but here are the link for the more popular ones (I'm using the G600 atm)
Logitech G600
Corsair Schimitar
Razer Naga Chroma
Redragon M901 Perdition
I also use a Logitech G13 Gamepad
So an update to anyone wondering about the keyboard I ended up with. I got this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UMF35MS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So far its actually pretty great. The quality seems pretty good and it works.
It does take a bit to get used to since it is small. Most of the buttons have a secondary function as well, though the secondary function is in blue on the keys and very difficult to see. So you gotta get used to where these things are. Its very minor but it does change the way I hold the controller slightly. Its slightly bulky, but i think its convenience outweighs it. I am still a little slow typing on it but I should get better with practice. I think its good for anyone who needs a keyboard for light chatting. Im not sure if youd want to get it if you are constantly chatting or something as it may be too difficult for heavy use. However i may be fine as a supplement to a regular keyboard too for quick message when you don't want to put down your controller to use the keyboard.
looks like they are available in the UK as well. Hope you enjoy the game!
edit: yes, the "PC" time card will work for a PS4 account
Just as a point of interest I had zero issues ordering the game (NA version) through Amazon all the way from New Zealand, kinda curious what country you're in to be getting the stink eye from Amazon of all places.
Good luck sorting it out though :)
okay thats what i was wondering, im thinking about getting the complete edition on amazon [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SV2K92P/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3ODHND3J0WMC8&th=1] I was just wondering if there were any other editions that give little bonuses like exp boosts or start equipment or things like that
May I ask why you want to "believe" in BestBuy? Personally I've had more problems there than any other retailer. Great and friendly staff in the store, terrible online support and pricing (from my experience).
I would also reccomend Amazon.com, you receive the EA code in minutes as well as a $10 gift certificate when you pre-order ARR through them. Below is a link, if you're interested.
http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Collectors-Download/dp/B00CX9L30W
You have to purchase the game before you are given an access code. Allow me to hold your hand a bit more:

These are all links to the PS4 pre-order page, which is exactly what you asked for. Not sure what the trouble is.
Also, you did not refer to any specific page in your original post.
Yes I highly recommend it. I'm always the first to load into any dungeon on PS4 with my SSHD even against most PC players (I check) and I definitely noticed a difference when teleporting with a friend who has the stock PS4 hard drive.
I'm using http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Solid-Hybrid-2-5-Inch-ST1000LM014/dp/B00B99JUBQ, i've been using that for the 1TB space since I first got my PS4 since i'm going all digital this generation.
I bought this off Amazon and love it
http://www.amazon.com/Ortz%C2%AE-PS4-Wireless-Mini-Bluetooth-Keyboard/dp/B00UMF35MS
Much better than having to balance a keyboard and swap between the two, however if you're a fast typer this will feel a little slower since its more like texting on a keyboard phone rather than typing with a normal pc kb.
https://www.amazon.ca/Logitech-G13-Programmable-Gameboard-Display/dp/B001NEK2GE
before you get used to a sloppy keyboard... consider this!
program your movements to the thumbstick, and your abilities to the buttons --make use of the other thumb buttons as shift/ctrl/alt, and that expands your range! you can get all abilities mapped onto the same 12 buttons that way, freeing up the other keys for things like jumps, menus, 'enter', etc.
I use the snakebyte official FFXIV 1.0 controller on PC - its a mock ps3 controller with longer handles for a more comfortable grip and buttons instead of triggers for L2/R2 which I prefer so I don't end up with cramped hooks for fingers. I tend to play monk & other melee based jobs like a button bashing street fighter noob lol
Edit: although I'm in the UK & got it through uk amazon, here is the link for the controller
http://www.amazon.com/Snakebyte-Final-Fantasy-XIV-Controller-000009/dp/B0046ZQ022/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1462461784&sr=1-3&keywords=snakebyte+controller
Definitely understandable. I love the character control a controller gives.
Strongly considering one of these now
I currently have this:
http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Solid-Hybrid-2-5-Inch-ST1000LM014/dp/B00B99JUBQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1404853651&sr=1-1&keywords=hybrid+ssd
it's a hybryd SSH, and I load just as fast as anyone else into dungeons. in RT I see more character models and from much further, and I can actually DO Odin without dying every 5 seconds now.
The difference between a SSD and SSHD for me was negligible, but the amount I save cash-wise to get 1TB compared to 120GB was totally worth it IMO.
EDIT: Words.
I would put getting a keyboard as a must. It makes your quality of life so much better as a PS3 user. I have this one http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Wireless-Keypad-Playstation-3/dp/B001ENPDJA/ but also have another Logitech full size. I don't need the full size one anymore as it was more helpful at game launch when I was explaining dungeon mechanics to people.
Another upgrade I would suggest that is def not necessary but makes a world of difference for later in the game is to update to a SSHD in your PS3. It is about $100 and helps the system with load times, AOE dodging (it paints them faster on the ground) and rendering of your environment and other users. http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Solid-Hybrid-2-5-Inch-ST1000LM014/dp/B00B99JUBQ/
If you're just getting a code, go to amazon and buy Stormblood. Make sure you're buying the online game code version.
If you're playing off Steam, buy it off steam.
If you want the physical, yes, that will cost shipping.
This laptop is GREAT for it's price. I just tested it on FFXIV and it ran on high settings 50+ FPS when plugged in. I just bought this laptop primarily for school use and gaming when away from home and I use my gaming desktop when at home. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015PYYDMQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
EDIT: Just saw that you said not passed 650 mark. If you can afford the extra $150, this laptop is worth it. It even comes with an SSD installed which makes things so much quicker.
Wow, okay -- am I glad I asked this question!! I would have been heartbroken not being able to log in and play!!
On amazong, the pre-order CE FFXIV has sky rocketed! Its $220+ !!
Would I be able to get this version:
http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Reborn-Playstation-3/dp/B002BRZ79E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1375721064&sr=8-2&keywords=ffxiv+arr+ps3
and then purchase the CE upgrade from SE after the launch found mentioned here:
http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/product/
So, when I purchase the game now, as "pre-order" will amazon send me the early access code? that I then put in... my square enix account thing? :-/ Sorry -- such a dunce about this.
Nobody's mentioned this but Sony started selling a dedicated dongle for the DS4 that has full feature support, including the headset audio. It's definitely the way to go. No muss, no fuss.
https://www.amazon.com/Sony-DualShock-4-USB-Wireless-Adaptor/dp/B01KWLKKQU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494582076&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+dualshock+usb+dongle
You can play most classes up to level 35. Original cap was 50, each expansion has added ten levels to the current cap of 80. The trial won't get you to the best parts of the game but would give you a general feel for it.
No need to buy the game and expansions separately if you do enjoy it. There's a complete edition available for both PC and PS4 ($60) that includes the base game, all 3 expansions, and your first month's subscription fee.
Why can't you order off Amazon.com or something? All you have to do is throw in an American address somewhere in your address book so they think you live there, and order the digital copy and there ya go :)
Edit: It tells you how to make it so you can actually purchase it, since it knows your region based on your actual address. You can change it though to get around it. Just follow what it says :) I just tried it out myself, and I'm in Canada so can't normally purchase digital on Amazon.com.
I'm wondering about using a gaming keypad (not a keyboard) with FFXIV. Something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G13-Programmable-Gameboard-Display/dp/B001NEK2GE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1497897209&sr=8-3&keywords=gaming+keypad
or like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Orbweaver-Chroma-Mechanical-Adjustable/dp/B013P0HW7K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497897209&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=gaming+keypad&psc=1
Does anybody know if, while setting up your keybinds in FFXIV, you're able to assign unique keys to things?
For example, regarding the Logitech G13, would FFXIV recognize the "G9" key on the keypad as its own key or would I have to map G9 to another key on my keyboard in order to use it?
If getting a new mouse would help me DRG better I'd rather get a Logitech G13.
I wanted to make sure that my method still works so guess what I just did 10 seconds ago?
So I can verify that this still does work. I am now sitting on like 4 early access codes from Amazon.
The Logitech G600 here qualifies. I have been using this mouse for FFXIV for a while and its great.
If he is more into Razer then this Naga Chroma qualifies.
Best I've seen is this - £39.99
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Online-PS4/dp/B00UUYVMIA
Would that work?
Can I use a mini keyboard connected to the DS4 to map out some abilities and also use the cross bar?.
Ex: http://www.amazon.com/Ortz%C2%AE-PS4-Wireless-Mini-Bluetooth-Keyboard/dp/B00UMF35MS
Thanks!
No early access; probably going to receive it a couple days after it comes out as usual with Newegg.
Amazon's $30 after $10 Amazon credit, early access, and release-day shipping is a better deal.
Amazon US has it for $15
> https://www.amazon.com/FINAL-FANTASY-XIV-Heavensward-PlayStation-4/dp/B00OM6SALE/ref=sr_1_1_twi_gam_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1496862750&sr=1-1&keywords=heavensward&th=1
Or pre-order Stormblood and you will unlock Heavensward for free on the 16th.
Have you tried Amazon UK? They have the bundle in stock and at least claim to deliver to Australia in general, but I'm not sure what restrictions they have, or how favorable the exchange rate is.
If you've already made a trial account, your SE account is probably locked on to the EU region, so if you wanted to get an US copy of the game you'd have to make a new account.
Shadowbringers has a complete edition just like Stormblood did. You can tell if it's the Shadowbringers version as it will have 4 icons in a diamond shape.
Does it matter where you buy it from? I thought it was region free.

Does anyone know if this pre-order on Amazon results in a Steam game code or a Square Enix game code? I need the Steam edition, so I want to make sure I'm buying the right thing...
Hmm...

Maybe Amazon got that piece wrong?
Thats why I created this post (first time post btw) to explore some of these issues about who and what gets crossplay!

You are mistaken.

When you say English, please specify that you mean US, because as you can see in the link I've provided it is certainly possible to order a boxed CE from the British one.

More like this, as his has a thumbstick for movement. https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G13-Programmable-Gameboard-Display/dp/B001NEK2GE/
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Collectors-Edition/dp/B00DB4BUA6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372781787&sr=8-1&keywords=final+fantasy+xiv
Still available from the UK if you're willing to pay a little extra for shipping.
Hopefully they get more in stock soon!
I use a https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G13-Programmable-Gameboard-Display/dp/B001NEK2GE Gameboard which is why my hotbar setup looks like that.
What you can do is buy another PS3 copy of the game, upgrade your current PS3 license to the PS4 version, then use the bought PS3 copy to get the license back. The PS4 Upgrade Campaign has been extended to March 31st of 2015, so you have some time to do that. It's only 20$ right now as I'm posting this on Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Realm-Reborn-Playstation/dp/B002BRZ79E/ref=sr_1_1_twi_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1417535574&sr=8-1&keywords=ffxiv
I'd recommend buying it before it goes off sale.
You should get a PS4 wireless keyboard if you don't have one already. Something like this if you're unfamiliar: http://www.amazon.com/Ortz%C2%AE-PS4-Wireless-Mini-Bluetooth-Keyboard/dp/B00UMF35MS
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00OM6SALE/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479154867&sr=8-1&pi=SL75_QL70&keywords=heavensward+ps4
This is just the expansion, mind you, not the full game. If you don't already have ARR for the ps4, I do not believe it'll work for you. If you check your mogstation, it'll tell you what your account has flagged for which platform.
Meaning, if you don't already have the base game for the ps4, you'll need to get the full package, which is $24 on amazon, I believe. I think you can buy the license for other platforms through mogstat ion as well, though not sure.
I play on a laptop with an i5-6300HQ, 16 GB RAM, GTX960m 4GB, SSD and I get about 50-70 fps at 1080p depending on the area. My laptop is about 6 pounds.

For PC: To start playing you need just A Realm Reborn, which will grant you all content from 1-50 including the 2 years of patch content before Heavensward released. The only thing you will be missing out on is creating an Au Ra character that you can start the game as from level 1.
Then you need Heavensward, which grants access to the 50-60 content, with the new land (6 zones), 3 new jobs and the 2 years of Heavensward patch content. It also lets you either make an Au Ra character, or change your character's race to an Au Ra.
There is also a bundle where you may buy both the base game and the expansion together, but there is no bundle with Collector's Edition goodies.
You will need both collector's editions if you want all the digital goodies, or you can buy upgrades to both editions in order to get them, whenever you choose to.
On Steam it looks exactly the same. The only downside is that you are bound to buy everything on Steam and the box edition codes will not work with Steam. This makes it hard if you wish to have the physical collector's editions as their codes will not work with the Steam version and you would need to buy the collector's box and the Steam upgrade for Stormblood, for example.
For PS4:
It's the same as on PC, except the digital PSN codes and the box editions codes can be mixed and matched without issues.

I was in love with the moogle plushie from http://www.amazon.com/Square-Enix-Final-Fantasy-Plush/dp/B0042VIZOG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1374627947&sr=8-2&keywords=moogle+plush, they didn't seem to have it on the Square site :(
I don't know if you can order from Sony but you can preorder from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Reborn-Playstation-3/dp/B002BRZ79E/ref=tag_dpp_lp_edpp_ttl_in
Or the squareenix site
Yeahhhh,...fuck that downvote you received from whoever because i'm in total agreement here about the tag. I have serious doubts about the possibility of that being any kind of a collectors item.
This is the model I bought some months ago:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B99JUBQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So far I haven't had any problems with the drive yet and the extra space compared to the stock HDD Sony gives you is nice for the games.
~~I think there's a newer model though with 2TB storage instead of just 1TB if you want the extra space:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FRHTTIA/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_gO62tb16RZ1S4~~
As well as a guide I saw while trying to look up the newer model incase you decide to upgrade your HDD:
http://imgur.com/a/JF5jA
EDIT: The second link isn't a newer model of the first, just a normal HDD from the looks of it with more space, my bad.
I could only find one digital version on there, but it's not currently available: https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Stormblood-Online/dp/B01N6T7N9Q
You might see if there's something else you want if you start running out of time. Also, if you're looking to do a digital pre-order you may want to check out greenmangaming.com too, as they're offering around a 17% discount at the moment.
There's no point getting a physical. Unless you want to put in your disc everytime you want to play. But it's 40 for physical too.
https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Stormblood-PlayStation-4/dp/B01M6ZLJQ8/ref=sr_1_1_twi_gam_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1495476836&sr=8-1&keywords=stormblood%2Bps4&th=1
Weird that the store doesn't offer the base game...
Amazon.com has the base game as a digital download for $19.99, $22.98 if he'd prefer a boxed version.
Maybe the game is on the PS Store as well?
Base game with 30 days game time (select which platform)
https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Reborn-Download/dp/B00CMSCV4Q/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1465928997&sr=1-3&keywords=final+fantasy+xiv
Heavensward which you don't need till lvl 50 or if you want the Au Ra race (select platform)
https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Heavensward-Standard/dp/B00ZVQKUGW/ref=pd_sim_367_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=51euVJjGQgL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR129%2C160_&refRID=D5SJ4JVTYX95YZXNZJRP
Approx $40 total or $20 now w/30 days of game time and $20 once you reach 50.
I am not sure about pairing it via bluetooth but I do use a cable USB and it recognizes it without any problem, I just need to set up the gamepad type in FFXIV's settings and I'm ready to go, no need for third party software.
Maybe I'm mistaken but I think you may need to buy the official Sony USB wireless adaptor for $21.49.
https://www.amazon.com/DualShock-4-USB-Wireless-Adaptor/dp/B01KWLKKQU/
However, I think I heard you actually could connect it via bluetooth without it and make it work, again, not sure.
I believe you can buy them on Amazon here
There are three separate versions listed on Amazon, although that probably doesn't mean anything
There's an amazon sale:
https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Heavensward-Standard/dp/B00ZVQKUGW/ref=sr_1_1_twi_sof_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1479993843&sr=8-1&keywords=heavensward&th=1
check, is only physical on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Stormblood-PlayStation-4/dp/B01M6ZLJQ8/ref=sr_1_1_twi_gam_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1495401505&sr=1-1&keywords=stormblood&th=1
Will I get the early access if I pre-order the digital copy from Amazon?
Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood [Online Game Code] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6T7N9Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_pDmIybS7EGZYZ
They've shown up on the UK Amazon site, but haven't seen them anywhere else.
Amazon is having a FFXIV sale (50% off) for the PS4 digital version @ $15. It still doesn't beat the price of the physical copy at SE Store but it's an alternative for those who don't live in the US.
There's also a discount on the FFXIV Online version (ARR + HW) for $25.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZVQKUGW/ref=dsvrt_review_asin_detail?th=1
Should be this one. It kind of looks like a cheap, off brand controller to me.

although the time cards are advertised as pc because your subscription is universal for all the licences you have, the time card will work whatever.

If I bought ps4 version.. pre-order could I get early access for the pc? heh...
I bought one of these on sale for 10$. https://www.amazon.com/Ortz%C2%AE-PS4-Wireless-Mini-Bluetooth-Keyboard/dp/B00UMF35MS
Here's the collection for 40 Euros. https://store.eu.square-enix.com/eu/product/307938/final-fantasy-xiv-online-ps4
And for 40 GBP. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Online-PS4/dp/B00UUYVMIA/ref=sr_1_1_twi_gam_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487938599&sr=8-1&keywords=final+fantasy+xiv+online
You will still get the 30 days subscription code... that i know.
But, if you already own ARR, i would think you can just use the HsW code to download the content. But i'm not sure....Edit: You should look in to Only Hsw Xpac, also on sale for 10$
I don't use a laptop but this one is relatively cheap for its specs and form factor. http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-i7559-763BLK-Full-HD-GeForce/dp/B015PYYDMQ
Logitech G600
Razer Naga Chroma
Corsair Scimitar
I can't answer you that right now. Can check when I get home (if I remember).
This Adapter
Sony's official USB dongle comes out tomorrow.
Here
Assuming you absolutely need physical...

Took me about 10 seconds to find

So i'm assuming this would work?
That's almost a low for Amazon http://camelcamelcamel.com/FINAL-FANTASY-XIV-Heavensward-PlayStation-4/product/B00OM6SALE
It's only recently dropped.
MMO mouse is awkward to use at first, but once you get used to it, you'll never want a non-MMO mouse again (for these sort of games, at least).
I have a Razer Naga; been using it for almost 4 years now.
Chroma version can be had for $40:
https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Chroma-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B01798WKTY
They have it at Amazon in the UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DB4BUA6/
I have no idea whether it will work in the US or how much shipping is or whatever
If you can spare another 100 bucks you should seriously consider this laptop: http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-i7559-763BLK-Full-HD-GeForce/dp/B015PYYDMQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1453642122&sr=1-1&keywords=Inspiron+7559
I don't think you can find another laptop with similar specs for that price.
Read the warning that tell you that it is permanent?
Also, in the future, I would suggest comparing prices. The game is $20 on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002BRZ79E/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1404775774&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40
Logitech Wireless Combo MK270 with Keyboard and Mouse ($21)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BP5KOPA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Been using it for almost 2 years with my PS4 and no issues. I primarily use the controller for gameplay, the keyboard to chat, and mouse to select players if outside my party/alliance for Raise.
no its not, http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Collectors-Download/dp/B00CX9L30W/ref=pd_sim_vg_1
here's the complete edition on amazon it says it comes with shadowbringers and you would have to make an account through square enix it doesn't activate on steam but if you already have the client downloaded on steam you can launch it from there then just sign in with the account you made on square enix if you don't have it downloaded you can just download the stand alone from square enix directly
The only piece of game merch I will ever need
my daughter hijacked it though so I may have to get another :(
If you're willing to spend a little bit of money, i really suggest a Logitech G13.
I bought one about a year ago and don't regret it. Pair it up with a multi button mouse and the problem of key binds is no longer a thing.
Sorry guys, wrong link.
It's this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00UUYVMIA/ref=twister_B00ZX610GO?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Worst title ever.
It's Amazon sale on PS4 (NA) Stormblood.
>$ 21.99
$39.99https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M6ZLJQ8/?th=1
Just went through this myself, upgrading to a new laptop for Stormblood.
I ended up buying this laptop, and so far, it's been amazing. It runs the game at about 60 FPS with most of the settings turned up. This dips when it's unplugged, but only to about 45 FPS.
No complaints so far.
It'll run the game fine, but you'll be overpaying.
You don't really need 16 GB of RAM
Try to get a 970M instead if you're floating at the 1000 USD budget. It destroys the 970M.
This computer is cheaper by $200 and has a better video card, although it does have less RAM and a weaker CPU.
