I remember reading The Modern Gentleman: A Guide to Essential Manners, Savvy and Vice on a long flight and enjoyed the heck out it. It was given to me by a friend before boarding and it made the 14 hour flight absolutely bearable and borderline enjoyable.

I've just been reading the Amazon reviews on it, and it seems that those who liked the book appreciated it for what it was - which is a semi-tongue-in-cheek, lighthearted but well-rounded effort at covering all of the social bases when it comes to acting like you've been there before when perhaps you haven't.

Those who didn't like it gave reasons that ranged from the authors coming off as verbose and pompous know-it-alls with a penchant for a thesaurus, to being upset that the authors weren't know-it-alls because the book wasn't actually the Holy Grail of how to be a modern gentleman they thought it would be.

If you would like a break from putting in serious work on bettering yourself in social situations while still working on bettering yourself in social situations, you will enjoy the laid-back and playful tone of this "self-help guide". You're not going to walk in to a members only yacht club after reading this book and impress everyone there with your grasp on social etiquette, but you will be more comfortable hanging with new friends knowing that unfamiliar social situations don't need to be stressful and stuffy, but instead can be easy-going and accessible.

I don’t know much about a reddit about cooking but you might want to check out this book. I got it to learn to cook for college and I love it (to be honest I haven’t gone through too many pages of it but I love it so far).

Nice! I have a couple from this series that I love.

Back to reddit, if she's an outdoorsy person maybe she'd enjoy subs like /r/EarthPorn. If she likes to do a bit of detective work then subs such as /r/WhatIsThisThing, /r/WhatIsThisPainting and /r/WhatsThisWorth can be fun.

Not a sub, but buy this book. It's awesome. It's basically a compilation of the most helpful and memorable art/creative prompts as remembered by art students.

Edit: Looks like they have a website where they continue to post people's assignments and prompts

It's a bit contrary to the guy in your linked video, but this book has some pretty good info. Not exactly a dedicated subreddit but it's a good start.

I’d guess your biomechanics are off. Give this a read and what you learn. It offers a solid self analysis section that can help point out where you lacking strength, flexibility, and range of motion while providing a suggested means of helping each of those things.

not a subreddit but I think you'd enjoy An Underground Education

Not a sub, but you might find this helpful https://www.amazon.com/How-Say-Third-Sentences-Paragraphs/dp/0735204373

It's a book called How to Say It. It's how to word your responses in all kinds of situations. Really useful reference.

National Lampoon's High School Year Book. I haven't read this in quite a few years. But the class photos list all the students names, pages of made up funny names. I can remember thinking how did they come up with them all. If you know someone that has a copy, check it out.
