if you don't care about power ratings and just want bluetooth/usb, Amazon has a Boss radio they sell for $22 with instant coupon Partner this with a $4 wiring kit and you have bluetooth/usb jams for under $30.

Im sure I will get some audio guys downvoting me for recommending an off brand radio, but after using some of Boss' stuff, I can say its hand on heart a decent alternative to the big guys, they sound pretty good and the cost is really low.

Boss even has a couple of decent double din touch screens for under $100, or if you want to go super cheap, Amazon Prime days has a few of the off brand Chinese double dins for under $50 that get extremely good reviews, and typically have the benefit of being able to mirror your smart phone screen and/or play movies. I currently have this guy in my Honda Civic, and it powers the factory speakers better than the original radio, plus it supports Apple Car play, which $160 is a killer deal to be able to modernize any older car with this feature.

They are aluminum, Ill see if I can find them online and link them, but my buddy originally bought them and sold them to me. Like I said, theyve been on my ranger, my explorer, and his jeep as well. I highly recommend them, if youre interested in the stance. You do need an alignment afterwards though.

Edit: These pretty much look exactly like mine. Im not sure about the great handling it says it gives, but my wheel turn radius is pretty nice.

You'll want to use a ford stereo removal tool to pop the old unit out, but you shouldn't have any trouble finding adapters from the truck harness to whatever stereo you want to go with.

Removal tool: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007TC9LW

I myself have a 2017 Joying android head unit in my truck. I had to very slightly trim the bezel top and bottom around the stock opening to fit the double din size radio. I've also substantially modified my radio itself, adding some heatsinks, fans, and replacing the Chinese amp chip with genuine Pioneer. I hear the newer units are a bit better out of the box though. You can find a photo of this installed in my 2011 ranger on the amazon review for it at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MTQUKK1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1#customerReviews

The reason I mention paste is that it deals with the temps, which I don't think JB weld would do. I've used something like this before with good success: Muffler Paste

It goes on like a paste, and cooks on there. Probably two years and counting for me. Notice JB weld makes a similar product at the bottom of the page too.

Follow this guide. Very easy. Maybe an hour total (taking off the door panels just takes some time).

I used those mirrors with that guide on my 1993 Ranger. Works great, looks better, and gives me larger mirrors for visibility.

Ya I just used the bumper bracket hole that was almost directly above the hole for the 4.5" light. Its not perfectly centered so you have to drill the hole slightly to one side but standard angle metal will fit. The flood lights I got are top mounted so I drilled a hole on one side of the angle for the bracket bolt and one on the other side for the light. If you use aluminum angle you will get galvanic corrosion from the steel touching it so you need a rubber gasket.

Also, I got a generic wiring harness from O'Reilly's and snuck it through the fender and dash trim so I could velcro the switch to my steering column. I soldered the wires for the lights and if you have a soldering iron it's not hard. Worst case you use crimp fittings.

I got something like this:

Thanks, I think so too. Really happy with how it turned out. Was able to get the blinker mod done today as well.

Here you go!

I used these, bought from Amazon.

Prothane 6-106-BL Black Body and Cab Mount Bushing Kit - 12 Piece

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003AVWYPK?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Perfect fit for my 94 xlt 4x4. Someday I'll use the rest of the bushings because it's not like the originals are in great shape.

The thing is these are just the bushings. The hardware to attach them is bizarre, expensive and probably rusted solid in your rig.

I cut out the old bushings, used these replacements and built my own mounting solution using grade 8 bolts.

You can buy new hardware from LMC but it's like $100 for each bushing.

Ford Ranger 98 99 00 01 02 03 04 05 - 11 Tail Gate Door Handle 1L5Z 9943400 Aaa https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008L5J5G6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_SCLxzbBAPKQ7Q

This one is a metal one I bought when my 2008 handle broke. It's slightly smaller than oem but was a perfect fit replacement. Completely made of metal.

u/purplepeopleeater389 · 1 pointr/fordranger

This is what I just installed on my 94’. It’s pretty easy just remember they are bolts not studs that go through so you have to pull the carpet up to access the top of the bolts

On Amazon pioneer makes a shallow 10 inch. I had one for my ranger worked great! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JQTU3QC/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_CPh7BbNBAKVGE

u/MysticMixles · 1 pointr/fordranger

So if I were to get something like this, is there a recommended way to secure it to the floor of the truck?

u/TrekkieTechie · 1 pointr/fordranger

I just put one of these (using this and this) in my '95 and love it so far.

Huge fan of these. Pretty cheap, and they look sick. They also push your tires out a little bit. these

u/99overpar · 3 pointsr/fordranger

I got it on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000H8BU5Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_rCUDDbW7EKXKJ

It's an ok lock. With my bed cover it really just prevents crimes of convenience. I'm actually thinking I'll just replace the handle with another plastic one, since a metal handle might break the lock if someone got enough leverage

For anyone curious here is everything I bought to put it in:

I went with these. I've been satisfied with the results, very bright and even. I've had no problems and I haven't had any go out, even the ones in my license plate light and I've has those for pry almost a year

u/Shmoooop · 2 pointsr/fordranger

So it looks like the kit I ordered is out of stock now but I will double check when I get home.

Here's the link: InstallGear Universal Car Power Door Lock Actuators 12-Volt Motor (2 Pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CZBQCR2/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_jsKDzb5GR2HB6

Edit: this is not what I ordered, but this is the seller. The kit was $30 and comes with everything. I might document the installation.

I got the pop lock. Pop & Lock PL2310 Black Manual Tailgate Lock for Mazda/Ford (Works only with factory plastic handle) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000H8BU5Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_x8U6wbMCK5V3A

It wasn't that expensive when I got it. But it works fine.

u/RXrenesis8 · 4 pointsr/fordranger

There are bolts on the inside of the tailgate you remove to open up the inside panel of the tailgate to get access to the latch mechanism.

If you can't drop the tailgate without the latch try to get in through the latch hole with a pair of pliers and pull on the rod that the latch ordinarily would.

If you need a new latch I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008L5J5G6

Metal instead of plastic, and $7.

Replacing it took about 15 minutes because I was taking my time and had to wander around to find the right torx bits.

u/Machksov · 2 pointsr/fordranger

If you don't have one, just buy one. A soft cover adds an insane amount of utility to your truck. Here's what I picked up a couple years ago. Absolutely recommend it. It is stupid easy to install and operate, and remove if you have to. My seal seems watertight too. I kick myself daily for not getting one eight years ago.

Here is a picture of what I have as my setup, I will add a link to the shocks I used for the lift. https://imgur.com/URS8oX7

Here is the link on amazon to the shocks I used:

I went onto monroes website and found the lengths that I needed. Note; this will only work on 2wd with torsion...
