I've used the commuter cases on several phones. They are not too bulky. I have a Caseology case on my phone right now and it added very little bulk or weight but I don't believe is as protective as the Otterbox. On thing I will say about the Caseology case, it is attractive. If your phone gets tossed around a lot then I would go with the commuter, but that is my preference. Otterbox also makes a one-piece symmetry line that is lighter still, but does so at the expense of the durability and protective quality that Otterbox is know for. Keep in mind that if you purchase from Amazon returns are very easy.

If you need a screen protector, I'm going to shill for Tech Armor, their ballistic glass screen protectors look classy IMO, are also easy to install and have a great warranty. Tech Armor Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Premium Ballistic

I am in no way affiliated or profit from sales of these products, simply a satisfied customer.

I got this one because I wanted more of a wireless charging dock than a pad, and for the money it's been pretty good. I had some weird issues with the first one where it was triggering the gear vr setup wizard instead of charging, but the seller quickly shipped a free replacement. Now both work fine, so I have two ;)

I don't think it's technically a "fast charger" but it seems to charge pretty quickly in my experience.

I recently upgraded from a GS4 to the Note 5. I went with the 32GB version. While I never had a huge issue with touchwiz, I decided to try out something new with the new phone and went with the nova launcher and it is awesome. The phone is much snappier and the fingerprint scanner is great. While I can't really compare it directly with the S6 or S7, this phone is great. The S-Pen is great so far, it's better than writing on paper it works so well. As far as storage goes, I think the 32GB is plenty. I currently have all the apps I use, plus all of my text messages from my old phone and still have 18GB free. I also keep a flash drive on my keys for larger games/emulators/movies and haven't had any issues yet. If you need more specifics, a standard picture is about 3.5MB for me, and a selfie is about 1.5MB.

Gaming performance is great compared to the S4, the main game I play is called Crashlands, I used to have slowdowns when there was a lot on the screen at once, not anymore though. I can't really speak to the audio quality as it's not important to me.

Samsung Pay was easy to setup for me, but haven't really used it yet, although it is included in all of the phones you are considering.

I have this tempered glass protector by JETech and it has been great. One thing to know is that there's a few mm around the sides it doesn't cover because the note has curved edges. It was easy to apply, provides amazing protection, and didn't change the look, feel, or premium quality of the phone at all. I'm really picky when it comes to this kind of stuff and I can't even notice that it's on! Highly recommend.

I had this case and while it looked awesome, the edges cracked after 3 drops.
Spigen case

I hesitated replacing it with an otterbox commuter because of how I disliked the defender on my s4 but came to the conslusion that both products are vastly different. The quality is way better on the Note 5 Commuter and the feel in hand and overall quality is way better. I wouldn't go back.

I bought my Note 5 to use with GearVR and needed something to protect the screen from even the smallest of scratches, so I bought this Tech21 case. My Note 5 can be removed from the case very easily when want to use it for VR, but doesn't fall out accidentally. It's got a slot for credit cards. I put my student ID, Drivers License and 1 credit card in it easily. It also features a stand for nightstand Netflix viewing. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015B3TG00/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1459433065&sr=8-3&pi=SL75_QL70&keywords=tech+21+note+5+case

For fast wireless charging, you need a fast wireless charger and a fast charge AC adapter (like the one that came with your Note 5).

I tried a bunch of them:

Samsung's version has a built in fan. Keeps your phone nice and cool. A bit placement sensitive.
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Charge-Wireless-Charging-Galaxy/dp/B012AWBN9C

Choetech single coil. Cheap. Works well. A bit placement sensitive.

Choetech 3 coil. Works well. Not placement sensitive. My favorite so far.

I couldn't find the exact size of the battery pack, but I guess you could get something like a portable HDD case to fit your battery.

Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-Portable-Drive-Black/dp/B003WUBIZQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452125127&sr=8-1&keywords=portable+hdd+case

Just make sure it fits inside before buying. Mesure it.

I've tried about 6-7 different screen protectors so far and the best one I've found in terms of how smooth the surface feels is the stalion brand here:
http://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Note-Screen-Protector-ShatterProof/dp/B0141GGNFO

It actually feels as smooth as, if not smoother than the original screen. Very smudge resistant too. Just taking it out of your pocket takes off 99% of the smudges. It still suffers from the halo around the edges. Slightly less than others, but only slightly better.

Other brands I've tried for comparison sake are ailun, xtremeshield, showme, and nillkin.

The Zagg one seems to be the most liked as far as not having the halo (non sticking edge) around the sides. I'm not sure as how smooth it is since I don't want to spend 35 bucks on a case.

monoprice.com has excellent quality 28/24 micro USB cables in 3, 6 & 10' lengths. I've used them for years with fantastic results. You can buy the monoprice direct from them or from Amazon

I bought this one by stalion off amazon after having another one from amazon come up a dud. I'm pretty happy with it. Minimal halo on this protector, only a slight halo on one side because I couldn't get it perfectly centered but not noticeable really. honestly, i think this phone is really tough to put a glass screen protector on it perfectly because of the edge curvature of the screen so it will only be as perfect as your alignment (which it comes with an alignment aid that i stupidly removed and didn't use).

u/Waibashi · 1 pointr/galaxynote5

My 2 cents for Zagg. I had experience with their older products back in the iPhone 4 era. They're overpriced for nothing. Better alternative everywhere. They would get damage very easily.

Now, in 2016, I don't know how their tempered glass is. But at work, I deployed tons of screen protector from this brand

https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Protector-JETech-Tempered-Samsung/dp/B0132XCT0U/ref=sr_1_5?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1472868681&sr=1-5&keywords=tempered+glass+screen+note+5

I can say, they are really well done for the price. The only downside is it doesn't cover all the screen. The protector leaves borders are the screen in case you put a case.

Personally, I stopped using shield since Nexus 4. With Gorrila Glass, you are safe. Though, I am not doing any construction work ... but I got kids, and they tested the screen many times.

Hope that helps.

I have a solid mounting solution for my car that sits nicely out of the way and still accessible. Took a few tries, but settled on this combination:

iottie QI charger, connected to a ram mount ball, mounted to my dash via proclip.

I had the Note 4 and the Note 5, and voice quality was more or less the same between the two. However even if voice quality was notably better in the Note 5 over the Note 4, I wouldn't recommend that you buy a phone that is over 3 years old unless you have no other option.

If you're on a budget and don't need all of the Samsung-specific features of the Note 5, something like the LG Stylo 4 might be a feasible option.

I have been using these for a couple months. I like them a lot. They are not reversable though.

I got this lens set a while ago and they're very professional feeling, actual metal and solid glass.

I have http://amzn.com/B00D4ABOZS, it holds the phone really well. The only issue I have is that my cd slot isnt flush and has a rounded lip at the bottom. Think like a 1/4" shelf. Makes the mount slowly loosen over time. Annoying but it works.

It's hard to believe that a 2012 Honda doesn't come with Bluetooth standard.

If in fact it doesn't, it should have an aux port. I use this aux-to-Bluetooth kit in my much older Scion tC. Works just fine.

I've been at work and at home while experiencing it, so I don't think it's my environment. I have an Urban Armor Gear case (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011ERM9RE/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awd_X6rEwbWKHN7FZ) so I don't think it's the case..
