Hey dude.

Late post, I know, but I've been doing some research on the best FM transmitters (had the Soundfly by Satechi, 3 actually, first one was great and the second two had quality issues. Have had at least 4 or 5 other ones before it back in 08, but since I found that haven't looked back).

The one that seems pretty legit is this one. It's got insane amounts of reviews and most of them good.

Hopefully this kind of helps.

1.) There are so many to choose from, but nothing that will replace the back or extended battery type - most of those remove the water resistance.
2.)I would recommend one of the glass screen protectors. I use one and they are amazing compared to the old zagg ones.
3.)Can't really think of any deep features - Optimize your camera (by defaults it isn't the best), Use the fingerprint sensor, if you like it when your phone flashes the camera light for notifications that feature is hidden in hearing.
4.)Best SD card

Meh it would probably work.. but it looks really similar to this one that the same seller is offering and it has some pretty bad reviews.. For a few more bucks you can get a really great 32gb SanDisk one that's probably more reliable

I use this mount for my S5: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CB6X6Y8/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_awdo_mDt3wb0NFPBMZ. It's sturdy enough to hold my phone with its case on, and the grip is strong so you won't have you worry about your phone falling out. My favorite features about this holder is that it's slim and you can fold it while not in use so it doesn't look like you have a chunky phone holder on your windshield.

I'm using a CM4 wallet case, it's pretty rugged and carries three cards. I'd recommend it. It's not cheap though.

I got this one.
Love it! Makes me feel like Batman. Easy to grip. Buttons still respond.

Amazon has a kit - Mudder 9 in 1 Replacement Accessories for Samsung Galaxy S5, 3 Pieces USB Charger Port Cover Flap + 2 Pieces Plastic Holder + 2 Pieces Screw + Screwdriver + Cleaning Cloth for $6.99.

I didn't like the way the cover fit on my phone when I bought it so I picked up the kit rather than replace the new phone with a refurb. Replacement is easy.

Here's the one I've been using for like 4 years: https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Diztronic-Matte-Flexible-Samsung/dp/B00K02V2A0?th=1&psc=1

It's got reinforced corners, it's slim, and has a nice matte finish.

You need the micro-usb to usb adapter. The phone will appear in windows as a USB drive so you can drag/drop to a spot on your hard drive. If you have a couple hours you can try replacing the screen yourself. I did it on my old S5 and an iPhone and it was surprisingly easy.

I haven't read anything about wireless charging not utilizing the full potential of the battery. It doesn't utilize the full charging capabilites/speed of the battery/phone, but a slower charge should only cause the battery to take longer to achieve a full charge, not alter the discharge or storage potential of the battery.

I ordered the wireless charging back plate awhile ago through Amazon, and last week got an update saying it should start shipping out towards the end of may... When it's a bit closer, I plan on getting this charger.

I don't have any experience with it, I just went off of the sheer number of purchases vs reviews vs cost. I also have an extra 2amp wall charger with cord, so there is no reason for me to buy a more expensive unit that comes with a charger... However, even without an extra charger on hand, I think i'd still get it based on the reviews and just use the S5 charger and an old USB cord, or buy a new cord for 5 bucks

The S5 will report how much current it is pulling to charge. I recommend Charging Time. Open that app, then plug your phone into your charger. If it's not pulling at least 1200mA, unplug it and plug it back in. If it's still not pulling 1200mA, try a different cord. I've found cords that only allow my phone to pull 450mA or 700mA. You can pretty much throw those cords away (or use them for data transfers only). With the proper charger and cord, your phone should pull between 1200mA and 1800mA. Furthermore, your phone should still charge somewhat rapidly even using GPS with the screen on, as long as you don't have the brightness cranked all the way up.

I have this charger and can confirm my phone pulls 1800mA on the 2.1A port and 1200mA on the 1A port, with proper cords. I have found dual port chargers that claim 2.1A/1A but only put out 700mA, so it may be either your charger or your cords.

I got this one. They make a clear one also.

If you get more than you need, you may guarantee you will never need another one. I went with these - actually it was a kit with more pieces since we had three S5s. The extra ones came in handy. Don't worry about not being techy enough. If you were able to get the battery out you can replace the flap.

edit - typo'd a word

A theme is just a fancy way of laying out icons and backgrounds, and using other widgets...There's a ton of options for customization. Just search the play store for Icon packs and start there.

I haven't rooted (to my knowledge, anyways), Nova Launcher is an "app" available in the playstore

I got this with the matte black finish. Protects the phone without being too intrusive

the Samsung evo micro sd is about as far as they get, being uhsi1/class 10. though the pro version can theoretically go twice as fast, you probably won't need the pro version. it doesn't hurt though!

I have a USB otg cable and an Ethernet to USB adapter and it doesn't work on the galaxy s5

u/UristMcHolland · 1 pointr/galaxys5

Samsung claims for the phone to charge faster using USB 3.0. I dson't know how true it is but here is a 2 pack of 6ft USB 3 cables. There are cheaper ones available but 3ft is just never long enough for me.
