There's actually an entire FFX Piano Collections album. I believe there's one for FFVI-FFX & FFXII but possibly more. Amazon Link. The piano renditions are beautiful I highly recommend them.

I rather like "Besaid".

EDIT: "Via Purifico" and "Tidus' Theme" are also great.

Thanks!

Congratulations on getting into computer music! I would search on YouTube for instructional videos on using Cubase.

For composing, try coming up with a couple of chord progressions, the simpler the better, and then put them one after the other. Then put a melody on top of that. Then add whatever other accompaniment you feel like. Hell, even one chord progression is fine. My song Love Story from Chromatic T-Rex is just one four-chord progression repeated throughout the entire song.

Also check out the Dance Music Manual: http://www.amazon.com/Dance-Music-Manual-Tools-Techniques/dp/0415825644/

I haven't read it but I hear good things about it. :) Hope this helps!

It's actually pretty easy. I have a lot of experience playing music, but 0 experience playing any kind of piano or keyboard...and I use a MIDI controller/keyboard to make that stuff.

So you really don't need to have crazy skills or anything, just an ear for what you're into. Got this one for 100 bones on amazon, but I bet you can find even cheaper ones.

I then use this program called Reason to emulate synthesizers and drum machines and stuff. Set a tempo and get to recording!

I put some more of my stuff up for you to check out if you're interested on that account.

If you want more music like this, the original album this song is from is Music of Waters by Shira Kammen. You can purchase the album here: http://www.amazon.com/Music-Waters-Shira-Kammen/dp/B000TQ0IWK/

It's good stuff.

"The Fat Man on Game Audio: Tasty Morsels of Sonic Goodness". This was an entertaining read, and covers some interesting philosophy on game audio.

Haven't gotten around to playing Grimrock 2 yet, but I really enjoyed the first. I don't really recall much of the music from LoG1, but this is pretty spectacular.

It took a little digging, but I found out who did this score: a Finnish music composition company called Scoring Helsinki. I guess they do contract work for various films, video games, and other media, and the devs at Almost Human got them to do the Grimrock 2 score.

The devs blogged about it back in August, and you can find it on Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon, as far as I know. Doesn't look like it's available on Steam, though.

This and some other great soundtracks (Gremlins, Gimmick) are available on the "Rom Cassette Disc in SUNSOFT" album, released on City Connection (CDCD-10003): http://www.amazon.co.jp/Rom-Cassette-Disc-SUNSOFT-%E5%88%9D%E5%9B%9E%E9%99%90%E5%AE%9ACD%E4%BB%983%E6%9E%9A%E7%B5%84/dp/B00516SKCI

Anyone know what the "maker's privilege" would be? Amazon link.

I'm not a big audio sound freak, but these $8 ones from Amazon have lasted me a long time, I think like 8-9 months now.

I was able to find through amazon a digital download of all the licensed tracks.

Bioshock 2 Soundtrack

Still one of only 2 3 soundtracks I own a physical copy of. The other is L.A. Noire.

Edit: That's a filthy fucking lie. I just realized that Bioshock 2's limited edition came with a vinyl called "Sounds From The Lighthouse". It's still only a handful of samples as opposed to the entire soundtrack and I didn't actually seek it out when I bought the original game.

i believe it's from this however there are several versions of maya's theme so given all the persona 3 albums you might be thinking of this version (has soundtrack link in the description)
