Congrats! I don't know how it works in Australia but in the U.S Amazon is a pretty safe bet to get accessories. I definitely reccomend a good suction cup mount and the official GoPro Jaws mount, they both come in really handy.

In my experience you can either buy a relatively cheap pack of generic accessories on Amazon (which work fine). Or you can spend a little extra to get more high quality stuff like Gorillapods and Spivo sticks.

For live streaming, I think you can connect your GoPro to Periscope if you have an iOS device.

Edit: Example of a cheap accesory pack. They're not as well made as the official GoPro ones but they work well for normal use.

I live in Europe and I bought them while in Italy.
But I believe these brands all over amazon worldwide.

  1. This is the one for battery: https://www.amazon.it/gp/aw/d/B07CYR8X43?
came with lid + lens and screen protectors. as bonus

  2. This is the one for the spingen protectors - from my experience, so far, not scratch resistant (even by sitting alone in my bag, scratched without a logical explanation).
    https://www.amazon.it/gp/aw/d/B07PFB3TQL?

  3. Tripod head (use it for my portable Manfrotto Pixi) :
    https://www.amazon.it/gp/aw/d/B071XVZKP1?

  4. I am thinking of purchasing, in the future a smaller tripod for versatility in height also (https://www.amazon.it/GoPro-AFAEM-001-Action-camera-tripod/dp/B00KCX8H6E/) or a gorillapod ( but as I heard they are not time resistant).

  5. If you plan seaside trips - floating stick could be an option. In Europe if you go to certain immigrant owned electronic shops you can get pretty decent prices for many accessories in 1 little bag.

I didn't use my 3M sticky gopro mount so far anywhere because, as I watched online is pretty hard to take it off.

    p. s. I know I gave you more than a link, but I hope it might be useful to someone someday. cheers

  1. Scuba assembly
    2) Rain or shine flag bracket
  2. quikpod sport
  3. There are cheaper options ([like this one]
(http://www.amazon.com/SSE-Extendable-Handheld-Monopod-Adapter/dp/B00EHVGI86/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1405736749&sr=8-10&keywords=gopro+monopod)) on amazon to the quikpod.

To attach the flag pole bracket to the scuba assembly, I cut a small block of wood and use that to stabilize the mount on the scuba assembly. The scuba assembly is not flat, it bevels in. I used epoxy to glue everything together and zipped tied it down.

Sure there could be better methods of mounting it but this was my first attempted and it worked. I will see how it holds up over time and some sport activities.

Also, it has to be that flag pole mount. Most flag pole mounts fits 1 inch poles, this was can fit a 1 1/2 inch pole so I can slide the monopod in and out easily. Plus its lighter than the cast iron versions and stronger then the plastic version.

If anyone comes up with a better method of mounting it, I would love to find out.

Any painters pole with a boom mount adapter threaded on. They also make a GoPro specific mount that threads on but I found the boom adapter better as I can also mount flashes on it.

You can get some pretty nice painter poles that can cover a wide range of lengths. Wooster makes some nice wooden ones.

Or just use a broom stick.

I used This monitor mounted on a pvc frame. I used a lipo 5000mah 11.1v battery. I use the GoPro combo cable (because I already had it for external mic/power) and connect it to the RCA on the TV. You can get a mini USB to RCA adapter on ebay for a few bucks. Hope this helps!

EDIT: I thought you said Hero 3... sorry! I don't know what kind of connectors the camera has on it. I use hero 3 cameras with my setup.

I just got this in the mail today from amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Case-Small-GoPro--Black-Hero/dp/B00AU0HMGA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1396484810&sr=8-2&keywords=gopro+pov+case

It fits basically everything i need in it. I love the size of it, tablet size just thick. Fits my hero3+ perfectly with some mounts, 2 extra batteries, and all charging cables. Fairly touch/hard exterior, don't need to worry to much about anything getting crushed. I bought it so i can throw it in my backpack when i travel and not have to worry about it. Youtube videos on it are what sold it to me.

Thank you, I ordered this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FTWUNRI/ and hope it's long enough without attaching another. Either way I will have my current short one just in case

This is the one i bought. However, there are also others that seem quite good. So far, this one seems really nice, except the vertical viewing angle is not great. Still have to test in sunlight : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EE7EXVW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I would recommend a flag pole hitch mount like this one: Camco 51611 Hitch Mount Flagpole Holder https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004IVGA0G and then get a flagpole in whatever length you need.

Search for "skeleton case" and your model.

Hero 3 & 4

Hero 1 & 2

I just bought one of these, hooked it to a 7700mah battery pack and filmed continously in 720/60 with wifi on until the 64gb card was full. Almost 7 hrs. Battery pack was drained, but the internal gopro battery was still full. A larger battery pack would yield a longer time. I have heard the the battery eliminators that replace the battery run very hot, read one review that said it melted a camera. This one allows you to leave the stock battery in.

Or you could just buy some bongo ties or some velcro ties, the normal shit people in the industry use.
