Op, correct me if I am wrong, but they look like the super awesome ones from Amazon - I keep them on hand as they are super useful. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E1Y5O6/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Sounds like you have a pretty good idea what needs to be done. Water should be the only liquid going into your body other than soup or other medicines. Too much sugar in juiced. Take the indomethecin with pure organic cherry juice. This is the one I find that helps the most. Good luck. I hope you find a solution that works for you.

I'm also 32. My first gout flare up was when I was 25. I don't know what you've tried but Quercetin is the only non-med which has worked for me. It apparently can inhibit uric acid production in the body. I haven't had a flare up in a year. I drink beer and eat meat regularly. I know it sounds too good to be true. But I'm sure you're open to trying anything. I take 2 capsules with every meal.

Here's a good brand:

FWIW, after reading your post here, I did some further research and came across this product: http://www.amazon.com/Formula-Cherry-Extract-Celery-Turmeric/dp/B0088JPQOU/ Has the celery seed and bromelain you mentioned, but also the tart/black cherry, which I'm currently taking by itself now.

Haven't tried it yet, but just bought it to give it a go and see if it helps at all. Will definitely report back on this sub.

I've been taking two a day of these for about two years now, and haven't had more than a twinge in my foot since. I used to get 1-2 flares per year that would prevent me from standing. YMMV, but I've gotten fantastic results.

Add low/no Fructose to your list, Fructose is processed in the liver and the waste-product is Uric Acid.I know this is not what your asking, but as an easier on the system option, I take Ibuprofen and these two over the counter options.

This will limit my flare-ups to 3 days.

For big toe sufferers:

When you wear this, you will never want to wear shoes again.

https://www.amazon.com/Crocs-Mens-Swiftwater-Sandal-Black/dp/B071ZZGHKS/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1526400639&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=crocs+watershoe

It's like the soles are stuck to your feet and the only fastening you do is on your ankles. They don't have that embarrassing traditional Crocs look and when worn with black socks, they look like hiking shoes.

I first got them thinking it would be my "Don't Care" footwear but I ended up wearing them for more than a year at work where I usually need to do site inspections. I have regular shoes just in case I might need to look the part working with others.

I can testify that these are the best shoes when you have no choice but to wear shoes during a full blown gout attack. They soften the impact of every step and are the most comfortable soles when you need to walk funny avoiding further flexing of your big toe inflammation.

26 with Gout, started when i was 23.

I'm no fuckup, but drink heavily every weekend (and weeknights too throughout college).

To be honest, whenever I start feeling ANY discomfort, i immediately pop an anti-inflammatory. Keeps the extreme pain at bay.
I just try and carry around a couple Aleve/Naproxen pills whereever I go. For example, I now know if i feel symptoms (stiffness, discomfort, lack of mobility in my toes) and I'm at a restaurant, it always pays to excuse yourself, find the nearest drugstore and buy some medication. The sooner, the better. I've had to call in sick with some strange excuse over the past couple years when I ignored the initial symptoms to "deal with it in the morning." Now i carry a tiny little pill holder

I try and avoid stout beer, although stout is my favourite. Dude, the only thing young guys can do is preventative maintenance.

There's not a chance in hell I'm going to be vegetarian. There's a 0% chance I'm not gonna go out for drinks with friends. But for me, the sooner I take an anti-inflammatory, the better. I know that the pain will subside if i pop right away. The longer I wait to take it, the exponentially worse it gets the morning after…

Just two months ago I didn't take my own advice, and felt an imminent flare-up around 6pm when i was on my way to a dinner party. Didn't take a 'flammy until I got home around 1am. Horrible fucking mistake.
Gout lasted for a whole fucking week and couldn't walk without hopping on one foot for 4 days. I got my grandpa to FedEx me his Colchicine (he's 92 and had gout, but hasn't had a flare up in 20+ years because he swears by Colchicine).

Apple Cider vinegar, as recommended by these fine Gouty people, seems to help. Although I always drink the Apple cider vinegar in conjunction with the 'flammys. Take a couple swigs before bed and in the morning, can't hurt.

TL;DR Carry an anti-inflammatory with you, pop 'em as soon as you can. A keychain pill holder like this is an easy way to be safe

I think I have bought this in the past Tart cherry juice not from concentrate

Regarding timing of results I have no idea but it depends on the following:

  • Reducing all foods and drinks[high in purines] that increase uric acid concentration.
  • Usually veggies with high purines don't cause issues
  • Keeping extremities warm so that the uric acid does not form crystals in extremities.
  • Drink more water than normal(EDIT: I mean ALOT of water ... but dont give yourself hyponatremia from too much water though.)
  • Increase things that reduce inflammation (A diet used for reducing inflammation is helpful)
-Avoid things with high fructose corn syrup (AKA: ‘fructose’ or ‘fructose syrup’. )

This $45 carbon fibre walking cane?

Sympathetic minds want to know if it's any good...

Yup- I have not been proactive about seeing the doctor, and am being stubborn about going on life long meds to manage the problem. I’m hoping I can find and address the root cause (besides genetics, of course).

I pick up the 640z Cherry Bay extract from Amazon. Link —> here.

I pour about 2-2.5 ounces in a pint glass and mix with water. I’ve seen as little as one tablespoon used in studies, so my 2oz might be overkill. It’s tasty stuff, albeit more liquid calories than I like to consume. Oh well, I’ve given up beer so I can live on the edge and drink some cherries I guess.

I’ve also started juicing kale, celery, and parsley because there is some anecdotal evidence that they can lower uric acid (and reduce cholesterol). I throw is some cucumbers, ginger, lemon, and sometimes turmeric. We will see if any of this helps, but it feels healthy drinking down a deep green brew.

There certainly are a lot and I do not know for certain which ones are better. Some people swear they must be an extract from a certain type of cherry. I used these for a few years, but the pills had a tendency to get soggy and stick together:

https://amazon.com/Source-Naturals-Cherry-Fruit-Extract/dp/B000GFHP02

Now I use these, which are in capsule form:

u/Heydude1027 · 5 pointsr/gout

Soda water with a lime. I feel like sugar has a big impact. These are the cherry pills I use and this is the bromelain

u/autocannibal · 4 pointsr/gout

Im a fan of gouch. Usually if I feel a flare-up start and I can get some of this stuff down it wont turn into a full on flare-up. Either way this stuff is like a secret weapon against any kind of inflammation.

I've always used raw cherry juice as part of my recovery after an attack, and it always works great. I've recently added apple cider vinegar for a one-two punch, and it never fails. I just started taking ACV tablets and Cherry extract tablets (link below) as a daily preventative, and so far so good.

Just looked it up and apparently, yes, it's completely possible to test uric acid at home. I had no idea that was a thing. Here's a couple links-

http://www.amazon.com/Easy-Touch-uric-acid-strips/dp/B00B72291I

http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?_rel=uric&search_constraint=0&search_query=uric+acid+test+strips

http://www.uricacidmeter.com/

I wonder if anyone else here has any experience with these. Maybe I'll start a separate post to see.

u/stevenglansbergalone · 2 pointsr/gout

This is what I've been drinking. It's been about a week but I'm not really sure when I should start seeing results.

u/assholesuckonit · 2 pointsr/gout

When it gets bad, I take 2 tart cherry extract caps and 1 turmeric cap all at once and I feel it fades away for awhile. It only works for 4 hours. I've been taking these pills for 10, 15 years no problem.
