I am very new to making it on my own since I always got it at a little Lebanese restaurant. Amazon.com has a lot of brands to order and I found a shop in Michigan that sells their own roasted and ground Turkish coffee online (www.hashems.com) but I haven't tried it yet to see if it's good.

Here is the kind I got from amazon since it had great reviews. So far I really like it but I'm still going to try more brands since I don't have much to compare it to.

Awesome. I was thinking something like this for starters:

Option 1
Option 2

After we get a house

Option 3
Option 4

Now to try to figure out the lighting :)

Handle - I picked this material because its 316L Stainless steel, out of all the metals it seems like its the "safest" to smoke from and it feels nice. Out of all the choices in dimensions I picked this one with something close to 3/8" inside diameter. I tried looking for one that had a decent wall thickness which this one did so I could get that heavy sturdy feel.

Hose - silicone tubing; I tried finding the cheapest one without sacrificing quality. OD is the same as the steel tubing so stretching this over should not be a problem.

Not sure how this will turn out, I haven't purchased any of it yet, I figured I have the weekend to make adjustments and to see if I can find a better deal from reputable vendors and/or make adjustments to what to use.

I recommend a mic stand. I use this: http://amzn.com/B000978D58

Should fit most hoses. I use a NuHose with it and it's a little loose, but if you fasten it in with a rubber band or a little bit of tape, it works great.

Its really easy, athletic tape is just like an other tape it has a sticky side. take the old grommet off the hookah stem and wrap where the old grommet was with the athletic tape test fitting it into the base every so often till you get a very snug fit.

Penetrating oil. I like this stuff.

You don't want that getting into the system though, so once it's free, soak the area in dish soap and water.

That sets your ball up for corrosion again, so spritz it with Pam or some other food grade oil.

320 ° Blue edition (25mm cubes) are now available in the US via amazon.com.

This is the best selling coconut coal on UK Amazon

For that you might need a starter if you don't want to ruin your hotplate. You will find a cheap one for camping trips for around 20 bucks like this http://www.amazon.com/Aroma-AHP-303-Single-Plate-Black/dp/B0007QCRNU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1413817807&sr=8-2&keywords=hotplate
Special ones for hookas are more expensive. With windcover or tinfoil around it coconut coals are ready in 10 minutes.

Everything that goes in the ice chamber, stays in the ice chamber.

The cooling effect is far greater than when I would put ice in the vase and I highly recommend it. Makes quite a difference (From what I've noticed, if you use small ice cubes packed to the rim), as the whole stem gets cold to the touch.

Something like this might help

Nah it's just like a gripping pad thing I had in my kitchen, useful for opening jars and stuff.

They also make rose shaving cream and I can confirm that it both smells like rose and works very well.

I smoke in my office, pretty standard 10x10 room. I heat the coals out in the garage with a coil heater and blow on them outside before bringing in.

I also have one of these that I put in the window and set on exhaust. (both fans blow out) - And just to finish it out, I have this amazing thing that scrubs the air for whatever doesn't get pushed out the window. I close the door and let the air gap bring in fresh air from the house.

If I have to blow on the coals, I pull off the HMD, walk to the door, and blow the ash outside. I still have to wipe down my desk and vacuum every now and then but at least the house doesn't smell like smoke.

I use a mini frying pan. I saw it last time I was at Walmart, and couldn't say no!

u/ZummiGummi · 2 pointsr/hookah

I got one of these. Looks decent and prevents this!

For cleaning, I'll scrub it out with a trombone snake and drying I'll use an air compressor followed by hanging.

I use these disposable aluminum loaf pans to carry my lit coals to my hookah.
