I just wanted to say thank you for being an amazing sub. I recently achieved a big dream of mine, and I will freely admit getting there was one of the most stressful experiences of my life. But, I was able to do it. I thank the many distractions of the world for keeping me sane and allowing me to publish my first novel, and this subreddit was, and is, one of the best ways for me to unwind at the end of a long day.

Thank you all, and have a wonderful day.

So I was actually looking into this yesterday, and while I don't know the status of things in other countries, in the US, this is what I found:

Short Films:

  • Book of Dragons is included on the most recent Universal blu-ray release of the 1st film; also released as a stand-alone blu-ray packaged with Gift of the Night Fury. It is also included on the 4K release (which is bundled with the Universal disc).
  • Legend of the BoneKnapper Dragon is included on the 2010 Paramount blu-ray release of the 1st film. It was removed from the Universal 2018 release.
  • Gift of the Night Fury is available on blu-ray as a stand-alone release coupled with Book of Dragons.
  • Dawn of the Dragon Racers is included on the blu-ray release of the 2nd film; it's on both the 2014 Fox release and the 2018 Universal release. It is also available on the 4K release, as it includes the blu-ray disc as well.

    TV Series:

Unfortunately, all 8 seasons (Season 1-2 from Cartoon Network and Season 3-8 from Netflix) have only been released on DVD when it comes to physical media.

If you want the episodes in HD, the entire series (all eight seasons) is available for purchase/download in HD via iTunes and (I think) other streaming services - in 1080p too!

In terms of HD physical media, only one episode has been released on blu-ray, namely:

  • Frozen (S2E14) was included on the the 2018 Universal release of the 2nd film.

If you want to buy the DVDs, here are your options:

  • The Cartoon Network seasons [subtitled Riders of Berk (S1) and Defenders of Berk (S2)] were released across 2 parts per season, totaling four discs.
  • The Netflix seasons (subtitled Race to the Edge) have been released in "double season" packs. So far, Netflix's first 2 seasons are already available on DVD, but the final four seasons are scheduled to come out in March.

About the DVDs (both Cartoon Network's and Neflix's), they don't seem to have special features or anything, but are pretty cheap and can be found on Amazon pretty easily. Though note that the Netflix season numbering on the DVDs reflects their seasons, not that of the overall show. So the "Season 1 & 2" set is actually season 3-4 of the TV Series - it's just the 1st and 2nd Netflix season.

I'm pretty sure you'd be better off making your own; you can buy the bands for dirt cheap.

I'm glad that you like my design though! :)

Thanks for your reply. I'm going to purchase the toothless and cloudjumper that i linked. The mini figures are cheap but they're not pretty to look at and the big toothless is great but for just a little more i can have toothless and cloudjumper like i wanted. I'm also gonna get this one for the office i think: http://www.amazon.com/Dreamworks-Dragons-Defenders-Cloud-Jumper/dp/B00DH2MKEM/ref=sr_1_67?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1409763132&sr=1-67&keywords=toothless

Anyway, thanks for your reply it really helped me made my choice :)

It's actually my nephews', who left it in my car a while back when we went to watch HTTYD2. He has since been reunited with my nephew...though I'll be getting another one soon, as he's my good luck charm.

You can find Toothless here on amazon or at Barnes and Noble if they still have him in store (that's where we originally bought him); I couldn't find him online. :c

I would've still expected them to include it on the Blu-Ray. It's weird that they didn't. Often when they say something is exclusive on DVD, they just mean that you can't get it on DVD anywhere else. For example, I have the Sainsbury's exclusive Tintin DVD but the features on the bonus disc are just stuff that's already available on the Blu-Ray edition but not on the regular 1 disc DVD. Maybe, they've included it on the recent re-release.

Yeah. It flies - with regional lock! WHY!?

That's interesting - "This title will be released on November 7, 2014.". So UK gets their release few days earlier?

They sure are! You can buy refills online, it's basically just a tube of extra ink. You can either take out the marker nib and pour the ink in or drip it on the wedge nib of the marker. I prefer to do the drip method because then it's easier to avoid overfilling it.

Here's a link so you can see what the refills look like: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001O7AXZ0/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_xslPCb38K9A7D

Amazon claims that the 3D Blu-ray comes out on the 7th November, but says the standard Blu-ray is out on the 17th, so who knows? We rarely get things early, anyway.

Hopefully we'll actually get all the extras this time. In the UK, the original HTTYD disc was unaccountably missing Legend of the Boneknapper Dragon and the deleted scenes.

Anyone know any good places for Toothless plushies?

Thinking of getting this one unless any other ideas?

u/Dragoniel · 2 pointsr/httyd

Amazon link to the book.

I don't know the author of this work.
