I reported this bug to Apple through the feedback app a few days ago. Please do the same.

In the meantime, I've been using a device to backup my SD cards to a flash drive, and the iPad can read/write from that flash drive. You can find discount codes to take like.. $15 off.

Not convenient, but if you'd like to have a way to test iOS 13, this may give you an option. It's not worth the cost for solely importing RAW images and videos, but it's also a travel router and helps me backup my SD cards on the go.

Cheers.

If you don’t mind an adapter, I bought this lightning to USB adapter last month and it works great. Only $13.

I hooked up a 4 port USB hub with it and connected two drives which also worked well. The Files app is a bit screwy with transferring files though. Instead of having a progress queue it just kind of sits there..

Anyone have a Samsung T5 Portable SSD (or something similar)? I have a USB-C to Lightning cable, and I've been hoping that Files would be able to mount it if I directly connected it. Doesn't see it up to Beta 3. Thanks!!

There are a few third party ps4 controllers that are big like the xbone controller. A company starting with H I think. They make solid Nintendo controllers too.

Edit:here you go

I love this and is what I used here on my trip to Arizona, is pricey though.

I don’t have any issues but my monitor does not have a direct USB-C connection.

I have a dell P2715Q 4K monitor. It has Display Port and hdmi.
I’m using a USB-C to DP adaptor on my MacBook with two of the dell monitors. It works perfect on my iPad Pro 12.9 gen 3 iOS 13.1 beta 1

I avoided using hdmi because it was too hard to find anything that supported 4K @ 60hz with PD and no way I’m using a 30hz monitor if I don’t have to.

The adaptor I’m using.

you can get something like a USB 3.0 A to Micro B splitter or Y cable where there's two USB A one for power and one for data. assuming you're using a multi port adapter that has two USB A ports or you plug in the power usb to an ac adapter

I've been wondering about this. I know some car chargers / usb ports are woefully under-powered, with some coming in at only 0.5 watt; as such, I've noticed they can't keep up with charging the battery if Waze, for example, is onscreen navigating while music is streaming and playing over Bluetooth. Therefore, I try to ensure I'm using a 2.1 amp charger in car.

If I obtained a Qi charger for the car, will it be able to keep up under the same demands?

I recently bookmarked this one with plans to research it and others some more.

I can’t backup my claims about their service so you’re right to call them out, but as you can see the kit is not only cheaper, but has plenty of good reviews as well as a two year warranty.

I don’t know wether you distrust all aftermarket parts or just batteries, but I have no doubt it’s because you’re familiar with battery horror stories about exploding or catching fire. I assure you if this was common, amazon would not sell them. Not to mention, I’ve only ever heard of batteries exploding that came with the device at purchase. For instance, the galaxy fiasco.

This is why we need Right to Repair. I shouldn’t be forced to pay 50-60 USD to replace a battery when I can do so myself for 19 USD.
