Tripod and external mic are a great place to start. As for the lenses I would say you could get a wide and a telephoto but not more than that. I do have some other suggestions that might help as well.

Don't use the default camera app, Use something like FiLMiC Pro (https://appsto.re/us/poAbA.i)

Just like any film, get some lights. This'll make a huge difference in the final look and allow you greater flexibility while shooting. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003VBKSWK/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_MrMtub0K4NKA7

Gladly, it is one of those cheap ones off amazon

I use that with this 10x macro lens attachment for a dslr. My buddy gave me it years back and I just found it. Made by Opteka, I then just hold it over my clip on macro lens and apply a little pressure. Makes it very hard to stay stable. This was just a test to see if it would work.

I just ordered a step up ring from 37mm to 58mm to make my life easier since it was some decent fun.

The honey bees are outback barely flying they are so weighed down by pollen. So cool to watch.

If you’re in the NYC area, I teach an IPhoneography class

You can see my iPhone photos on my Instagram

Edit: also... not sure what you photograph specially , but Magnum has a great book on conceptual art photography link

Photos conveyed with mystery, a story, emotion, etc make the most compelling photos.

It was part of a 5 in 1 kit I got off of Amazon. Pretty decent if you're new like me.

bitplay AllClip seems to be working well with latest iPhones too, but without any case.

I used my telescope and I put my iphone camera right up to the eye piece. It's kind of hard to keep it steady but with some practice you can get it.

The telescope isn't even that expensive. It's similar to this one.
