Hey,

Welcome to the VQ Family

First things first, the best thing I could recommend to you (and all the new peeps around here) is to check G35Driver.com out. It's a gold mine when it comes to information and tutorials. You could probably find your dream wheels there.

LOOL I just checked your video out and it turns out that it's my car ^^
It's a custom Straight Piped exhaust and it's pretty easy to build yourself.
You need to hit an exhaust shop who can build it for you.

You will need a Magnaflow X Pipe and Exhaust Tips.
The rest is straight pipes. The Magnaflow Muffler is going to muffle the sound down and give you a deeper note while reducing rasp and drone. Here's a picture from under my car: http://imgur.com/D2oIcuP. It's going to cost you around $7-800 but I got hooked up by my shop since I recommended tons of people to him and I have been a long time customer since I had my 350z. I have seen people getting quoted as much as $2000.

For your wheels, check GetYourWheels. Personally, I like 5 Spoke Wheels like Avant Garde M550, Vossen CV3 or Stance SC5. If you want to go through a lot of G35s to see different wheel combinations, take a look at our car club, the National G Club ;)

Let me know if you have any question ;)

Its relatively easy. Splice into rear speaker wires for preamp (rca) signal, and run power & remote,

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001EAWS3W/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1495131589&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=rca+converter+for+car+stereo&dpPl=1&dpID=51N99mFrh%2BL&ref=plSrch#

unless it's one of the newer signal sensing auto ON amps.

Or disconnect the oem Bose sub harness, leave it disconnected and tap into that harness for power, remote, and signal (+ & -).

As for the shop and the previous backup camera issue, find another shop asap. Those idiots either grounded the monster amp to the tiny ground screw that the backup cam uses, or they spliced into the camera's power wire as a remote turn on for the amp since it powers on with the ignition.

Try over at Best Buy, their auto installation bay area where they do alarms, radios, gps, etc.

Definitely check crutchfield.com. They have an online "what speakers fit my car" section, and their customer service is great, as well as their knowledge of in-car entertainment. You can even call them with questions.

I have used a cassette tape to aux converter in my 2004 FX35 for years (Not sure if 2007s have cassette decks though...). It may not be the absolute best audio quality, but in my opinion, I have never noticed a loss in quality. Maybe this is due to our vehicles having great OEM speakers. Very easy and cheap solution.

Here's the best way to handle this. I'm making assumptions that you have a smartphone and the RCA jacks in your car's armrest.

Get the following.

  • a wired to bluetooth transmitter
  • a usb car charge port
  • 3.5mm to rca jack cable (as short as possible)
  • a cd player mount for your phone

Take the 3.5->RCA cord and plug the RCA ends into the aux jack inside the armrest. Put the USB charger in the 12v socket that's also in the armrest. Take the bluetooth transmitter plug in the power (with the supplied micro USB to normal USB cord) and plug in the 3.5 end of the RCA cord to the jack on the transmitter.

Once the car is on and the transmitter is powered up, pair your phone to the transmitter per the instructions that came with it. After its paired, put all the wires and the transmitter in the armrest and forget about it. You'll never have to deal with it again unless something goes wrong.

Now take the CD player car mount, and turn it so it's horizontal. Put your phone in it and adjust the sides to make sure it doesn't slide out. Switch your car audio system to AUX and leave it there. The only downside is you can't control the audio from the steering wheel. The only thing you can do is adjust the volume.

Now you have an always updated nav system that has guidance and the ability to listen to all your music via the car stereo. I wouldn't try any other BT transmitter. It's the key to the whole deal and I know that one works. The rest of the stuff is universal and pretty generic. You may have some/most of them already. You can really shop around for the USB charger, RCA cable and CD player mount and get the cost down more. The whole setup should be around $75 or less.

This is by far the most effective, economical way to get what you want. There isn't really a way to update or modernize the stock equipment outside of buying a new car. I'm pretty sure that's by design.

Not so bad. Depending on how perfect you want it, you might just paint it without sanding. Problem is you CAN'T test the colors they have in stores without buying. You can get an idea from the cap color, but they do have that dark Al / gunmetal color.

If you sand, I like these: https://www.amazon.com/Dremel-511E-Coarse-Finishing-Abrasive/dp/B000FBF3OM/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1494880198&sr=8-10&keywords=dremel+sanding

Use blue painters tape to tape off any area you don't want to sand and also to keep the tire clean. I apply the paint with a fine brush, not spray.

I have the K&N for an intake. It's fine. Honestly, no real difference. People seem to like the Takeda for a real CAI. The RC2 and the K&N are more ram air systems. Haven't heard too much on the tunes, but generally they're not too worth it unless you've done a bit of upgrades. Infiniti has done a fine job of safely tuning the engine to get the maximum power out of it.

This is supposed to work

For some people, steering wheel controls work only when using Apple Music app but for some people they can even control Spotify, etc with the steering wheel controls. I emailed them and the 'owner' and I exchanged emails about this. She even said

>The truth of the matter is that for some customers the music info and steering wheel buttons do work with streaming sites and for some they do not.  It is difficult to know if this relates to the operating system being used by the customer or the cable that was installed in their particular vehicle.  From our perspective we try to under promise and over deliver if possible and consequently we cannot say for sure that this info and function will work for you.  It may very well not.

You also need this. They used to recommend a similar item made by CableJive and it was $20-30 in the past but went up to $60+ when I looked recently. They saw that too and looked at substitutes and she suggested this one.

For almost $100, I passed at the time but I might try it. They offer a 30-day return if I don't like it....

To play it like a regular bluetooth aux you need:

  1. RCA to 3.5mm (both Male) adapter. I used this one.

  2. A bluetooth audio receiver, like this one which comes with an extra USB jack for phone charging.

This is the exact one i bought, and it turned out really nice, as long as you take your time and do each step thoroughly you will be in good shape.

I’ve been using this thing and I absolutely love it so far! It’s really convenient for it to automatically grab on and charge the phone at the same time.

I've had Slim Chrome Steel for years. They are made in the USA using stainless steel and have held up to many salty New England winters. I did upgrade the bolts with 316 stainless steel from McMaster Carr.

They compliment the G series chrome trim without being obnoxious.

That is the dash kit for the 03-04.
You need the dash kit for the 05-07.

You then need the stereo adapter harness.

This is the stereo harness for the Bose equipped model.

https://www.amazon.com/Stereo-Harness-Infiniti-wiring-installation/dp/B008FT3K14

Here is the 2005 dash kit

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001D0IW8I/ref=pd_aw_sim_263_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=K8J03RR5YH3D7Z9JFKN8&dpPl=1&dpID=71HCU5U5PgL

If you want steering wheel controls then you need an adapter for that as well.

Hair dryer and dental floss to get the old stuff off. Heat up the tape and use the floss to get under it. Then just pull slowly and it will all come off. Use standard soap and water to clean it and then use the same 3M tape they put it on with originally. They make an adhesion promoter you can use as well, but attention to detail when cleaning the area will suffice.

Changing the battery is easy
I had to do it in my keyfob, as my dashboard was telling me it was low and I didn't want to wait

If touch-up pen isn't enough, then you should look at repainting the body panels affected. Any touch-up work won't be good enough.

However, for small chips and such, this is priceless and worth every penny:

I've had my '12 for 3 years now. No issues at all, in Chicago. Something to reduce the chance of the dash cracking I use 303 sun protectant, it can be applied to almost any interior surface. https://www.amazon.com/303-30306-Aerospace-Protectant-Furniture/dp/B000XBCURW

Aside from the CSC failure which is shared between the 370Z/G37 and 350(?), it's common to do a csc delete, multiple companies make the kit.
