My one bit of advise, skip the keyboard case and get a nice small bluetooth keyboard, and one or more cases of your choice. I've had several generations of iPads and a few Keyboard cases in my time. They are more expensive and have consistently broken on me. Of all the separate keyboards I've had, not one has broken, I've taken them with me between devices, and they've lasted years. You can buy far more or less protective cases, as you wish.

Just some recommendations:

  • https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AKCM5YG

The Microsoft is my favorite, but no longer available. the iClever foldable is my newest and I'm getting to like it quite a bit.

The only argument I can make for the 4G iPad is that it also includes GPS capabilities. If you want to use it for navigation, photography with geotagging, or any other location-dependent activity, you might want to consider it. It also grabs a slightly higher resale value.

The Pro gets you the Pencil, faster speeds, more memory, slightly better screen, larger sizes. If you don't need any of these, then no reason to get the Pro. The iPad can do anything a Pro model can do, except for hardware differences (Pencil compatibility and True Tone screen).

The iPad (any model) can handle note taking and basic office productivity very well. Apple's iWork apps are the "smoothest" and fit the iPad the best. But Microsoft Office is not far behind. Google's apps are shoe-horned to work with the iPad and the least "iPad like" IMHO. But since all are basically free to download and try I'd say give them all a chance.

I would recommend getting the 128G. You can't upgrade later and some day you may wish you had the space, especially for movies and the like. Transferring to and from the cloud can be a chore.

If an external keyboard is ok, check out the Logitech K811. Backlight, battery life for months, 3-device pairing, great keys etc. Better than most of the keyboard cases and external keyboards. Expensive but easily worth it. I use mine with my iPad and PS4 mostly.

It feels a lot better than the small external Logitech Keys-to-Go, Logitech Type+ Air 2 case and the Apple Smart Keyboard in my opinion (have tested those quickly) and is not limited to just one iPad. Nothing to bad say about it since September 2015.

For cases, a lot of people think that the Apple Smart Case is the best one. I own it and it's all-around great. Hella expensive though.

For styluses, I only have done limited research of them and don't own one (except a small cheap capacitive stylus) so can't help much.

I have an iPad Pro 12.9 and just bought the iPad 2018. The note taking experience is identical. If you're just looking to take notes and do basic tasks such as web browsing or playing some basic games, you're best bet is the iPad 2018. The Pro line is meant for beefier tasks like light video editing and content creation. It has a better CPU, more memory, a better screen and better speakers. All of which you could do without if you only need the basics. Oh, and you'll save a couple hundred dollars!

Edit: Oh, and if you're going to be doing a lot of note taking, also get this screen protector (or a matte one like it). The "matte-ness" of it makes writing on it much better than writing directly on the screen or using a glossy screen protector.

And FWIW, this is a nice case (especially for the price) and has a loop to store the pencil. I have it for my Pro and I liked it so much I bought one for the iPad '18. It has a "taking notes in a university" vibe going for it.

I have the Anker tempered glass screen protector from Amazon on my 10.5 pro. Works great, went on easy with no bubbles or marks. I also have the Apple Smart Keyboard and a compatible iBlason case from Amazon on it. The case is thin and has a clear back so it looks minimal. Finally, I carry it around in the Apple iPad Pro leather sleeve. It looks and feels great. It’s expensive but I found one brand new on eBay for half the price of retail stores. Late reply, but I'm using this one!

It's a nice surface; you lose the retina quality of the screen, but the image quality is still amazing. Gives some nice tooth. I didn't mind the smooth surface as much as some people do, but this is definitely better. It looks a lot like a cintiq screen with it, but with the better resolution of the iPad.

>I type a few essays for school every blue moon, but that's about it.

Do not underestimate the convenience of having two windows open at the same time. Yes, you can switch between Safari and Pages/Word/whatever with a swipe, but it gets old quick.

Also: you're going to want a real keyboard to type an essay. You do not want to do it with the onscreen keyboard. Period. If you're not doing a lot of typing all over the place (library, notes in class, etc), then I guess that means you don't have to get a tiny keyboard, which is good news for typing comfort.

I'd suggest either the Universal Mobile Keyboard from Microsoft (no joke) or the K480 by Logitech. Both of them are nice to type on while still small enough to fit in most bags.

I work in IT, specifically for a hospital systems Radiology group. My work had provided me a laptop, but I no longer use it, and use my ipad in it's place. Now, I do have a desktop both at home and at work I use that I can't replace, but I've been able to completely replace the laptop/mobile portion of my work, as well as enhance my workflow with it.

First, I have cisco anyconnect VPN, for securely connecting to my work's network.

My second most important app is [FileBrowser].(https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/filebrowser-document-manager/id364738545?mt=8) I use this to easily access my various cloud storages in one app that lets me share files out to any other apps I need. Also, it let's me map network drives that I use at work (while connected to the VPN)

Another one is Textastic. I use this when messing with powershell/javascript/whatever other programming languages I've needed, it always seems to support it.

I use Termius when I need to SSH into something, at home or at work.

Some other one's I use at work are Notion, the entire microsoft office suite is great having a microsoft 365 subscription. I use microsoft's RDP app to remote in to my work computer if I'm out and about and get a ticket or something I need to work. I have a few work specific apps such as Cisco Jabber and Cherwell mobile (thats the system we use for ticketing) I use Notability from time to time for taking notes, but I have awful handwriting so more often than not I use this foldable keyboard when I need to type.

All of that doesn't even cover how integrated my ipad is with my personal life/hobbies/work flow.

Last, I 100% agree with /u/saa001 , if they'd let me use a mouse, it'd be 100% more functional than it is now, and I can already do so much with it!

EDIT: Forgot to answer why I choose to use my ipad over my laptop. Portability, battery life, and the apple pencil are my main 3 reasons.

u/haswelli5 · 2 pointsr/ipad

Yeah I can see how it would bug you if you edit photos. I found that matte screen protector also reduces glare so that helps since I read a lot of journal articles, but I think you should be okay without a screen protector.

Edit: Also, I do a decent amount of math and I found that I could easily lay a ruler or protractor down on my ipad and draw angles and lines. Though I would be hesitant to do that if I didn't have a screen protector. But if your major doesn't require that then this is irrelevant haha

Also I use this case as my back cover for the ipad pro and it goes well with the smart keyboard :)

  1. Do you like Zite more than Flipboard?

  2. Also, since you use your keyboard so much, thought you might like the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard. Definitely pricey but I think it's the best looking one out there and makes it look like a laptop. It's a keyboard cover, similar to the style the Windows slate received hype about. Maybe it's easier than carrying your Origami keyboard separately?

I'm a design student and I'm planning to get a 11 inch pro. Its coming off my one-time education loan and I see it as a long-term investment for at least 4 years down the line. Why the 11 inch pro, despite its butter like bending properties?

because, it's performance that can handle advanced apps in the future, like photoshop CC and more.

I did my research on the internet and got surprised reading this on reddit. After a lot of posts and videos, i decided to get a metal case for my ipad, Like the one here, but for ipad pro 11. So far I couldn't find any. If anyone knows any similar product that'd make my 11 inch pro a tank, please do share in the comments. Thank you.

Also i came across this. I'm not sure how hard it is to bend this case. Of course not as hard as steel or aluminium, but if its any good compared to otterbox symmetry or defender(which are ugly and expensive). If anyone has used it, or wanna try, please share your experience.

I picked up a $15 Moko one on Amazon for the iPad Pro 12.9". It works incredibly well and offers great protection at a low price. You can also show off the back of the iPad, as it's fairly transparent as well.

Here's the 9.7" one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0158AZOHU/

Seems to have tons of great reviews as well. I think it's worth it. (Note, it isn't compatible with the Smart Keyboard.)

u/UserName872 · 2 pointsr/ipad

I just picked up a pro 10.5 myself over the weekend. I wanted the same thing, more protection for the back to compliment the Smart Keyboard and something to store the pencil.

I ended up with these two and so far they’ve been great!

You aren’t likely to find a case that houses the ipad and a mechanical keyboard.

My solution has been to use the Apple Magic Keyboard (I know, I know, chiclet keys, but they work well) and a
case that doubles as a stand. .

I just carry the ipad in my messenger bag along with the encased keyboard. Unfold it and -bam- a mobile workstation. I’m typing on it now.

Is it a viscerally satisfying typing experience? No. But it’s good.

For the bluetooth mechanical, the best thing I could recommend would be a simple case stand for the ipad alone, then just carry the keyboard separately.

u/cjohn4043 · 2 pointsr/ipad

I have this one and it's great. Definitely a great case if you want to save some money and not fork over an arm and a leg for the Apple cases.

I mostly use the Apple Pencil with Notability or LiquidText. I use Goodnotes a little. Some of my professors use Google Drive, so I need to use those apps from time to time. I also like Outlook for email, iBooks and Kindle Reader for different texts. Duet Display turns my iPad into a secondary screen for my MacBook Pro. I use Scanner Pro to turn all my syllabi and other handouts into PDFs. iStudiez Pro helps keep my schedule in order, and Quizlet helps me study. I use Affinity Photo for processing my Nikon RAW files ( I let my Adobe CC subscription lapse, I just don't find myself using my dSLR that much lately.) I also use a MIDI keyboard with Garage Band and Pro Metronome for piano practice when I don't have access to a real piano/piano lab/practice room.

I keep games and other entertainment apps off the iPad since I'm trying to study and don't want to make it any easier for me to goof off.

Case, Screen Protector, Apple Pencil sleeve, tether to keep my adapter on my cable, stand, keyboard, and holder for using my iPad as a second screen for my MacBook Pro. I also use Anker cables, charger port, and portable charger.

u/brian21 · 1 pointr/ipad

I have this one for the 9.7 and it looks like real leather and has thus held up really well in what I'd say is a pretty grueling travel schedule the last few months. Looks like the company makes one for the 12.9 too. Pretty cheap.

u/DazEngineer · 2 pointsr/ipad

I am currently attending uni and from my experience this past year with the 10.5. I highly recommend it. Simply because you might not always have the luxury in terms of desk space of having a 12.5 with you and also because of weight. My mom bought the 12.5 and regretted it within a few days because of the weight and sheer size.

If you are saving money or you would rather use that money for something else, I recommend using your petrol points to purchase it and spend a little to get the accessories you would want to have. In contrast if you want to be future proof, don’t mind waiting a bit, and don’t mind spending a fair penny; purchase the new one. Roughly with the items listed below and getting an 10.5 with 256GB and with AppleCare set me back roughly $1250 USD so you have a rough idea of how much you might be spending.

Accessories that I bought that I also highly recommend and use on a daily basis are listed:

If you're good with a case that has no cover for the screen, here's a pretty well-reviewed clear back case:

I use the Microsoft Universal Foldable Keyboard and it has been really solid for me. Takes a bit to get used to the split keyboard design, but decent travel on keys, solid battery life, low weight, nice compact size, and my favorite part is multidevice capable for two different devices. I am not sure if they are still making them, but you can find them around if you search. Here is the amazon link:

https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Universal-Foldable-Keyboard-Android/dp/B00UBGU4PY

u/Goobah · 2 pointsr/ipad

I use this one every day in school with Notability.

The tip has capacitive fiber wrapped around a rubber tip. It feels super smooth when writing. I added a rubber grip from a spare pen I had to make it easier to write for longer periods though. This makes it even better. Plus, it's so damn cheap!

Highly, highly recommended for note taking.

u/eChris251 · 4 pointsr/ipad

>I do mostly the same on the iPad, it works mostly well except on iOS 11 you can’t use the pencil to swipe up the dock/control center which is extremely annoying.

That annoyed me too! The way I got around it is by getting this for the end of my Pencil:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XSVBSTG (FRTMA for Apple pencil cap replacement as Stylus; you have to get the black one with the silver rim; FRTMA makes another pencil cap in several colors that doesn't function as a stylus)

It's so nice to just flip over the Pencil and use it as a stylus for the full range of hand gestures, plus it feels nicer when using the on-screen keyboard than the tap-tap-tap on screen sound of the tip of the pencil. Then when I feel like actually doing handwriting, I just flip the Pencil over in my hand and use it as normal. Really love working like this.

(BTW, for artists, if you configure Procreate to use your fingertips as an eraser and the Pencil as your drawing tool, this lets you flip over the Pencil and actually use it as an eraser, like a real Pencil eraser.)

Also, I'd recommend MyScript Stylus if using the onscreen keyboard is a problem due to RSI. It's free so it's worth trying. It had some strange bugs with early versions of iOS 11 but I haven't had problems recently.

u/Ninja2Night · 1 pointr/ipad

I bought a pro about two weeks ago and love it. Main for the larger screen that's easier to read. People are on both size of the Fence as you see... Personally I like iOS although they need to work on the cut and paste more for devices without 3D Touch. Also I tend to use google sheets a lot and that app drives me batty. I too bought my iPad pro 128 on eBay for $800 new so look there. As for the pen - love it, keyboard cover liked it a lot but couldn't live with the cost... $170 for keyboard cover then another $80 I think for the cover for the back... No thanks. I bought the foldable full keyboard with backlights for little over $50 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018K5EJCQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_qt27wbKGRN5F0

u/saulthesailor · 1 pointr/ipad

I bought this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073S2V1PL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_sgojDbTW3DQKH to go with my Smart Keyboard and it’s working out really well. The construction seems to be holding well but dust can get behind the clear back so taking out the iPad maybe once every two weeks helps prevent any permanent blemishes on the aluminum.

u/michaelkloud · 1 pointr/ipad

I had the Apple Smart Case on my iPad Air 1. Absolutely loved it. The leather feels rich and it was light. I've since 'upgraded' to the iPad Air 2 and went with a different case because of cost. I couldn't justify spending another $79 on the Apple case as there were subtle changes to the Air 2 that I can't reuse the case :(

This is the one I bought for $15: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OKSMA6A

The feel is not as nice as it's not leather. The inside of the case that touches the screen is not as soft. However it does it's job. I only want something to protect the iPad from small scratches.

https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Universal-Foldable-Keyboard-Android/dp/B00UBGU4PY

I like it, though there is a fold in the middle of the keyboard and some people have a hard time with the gap (we also have one connected to our Hololens at work).

What I love about it is that it has two bluetooth profiles so I can switch between two devices seamlessly. Also, a single charge lasts forever! It's not my favorite keyboard ever, but it's amazing as a portable keyboard!

u/stereonewbiequestion · 1 pointr/ipad

I use a 2018 iPad with the Magic Keyboard, which is Apple's full keyboard for the iMac, together with a case/stand combo like this one. I much prefer it to the folio keyboards. Detatchment is easy (it's never attached, just sits in the fold of the case). Best of both worlds for me.

Edit: Magic Keyboard can also be had refurbished for around $50-60, putting the whole set at $65-$75.

u/eericwhitee · 5 pointsr/ipad

Just bought this one about a week ago and It's pretty solid. Paid $12. It's a really sturdy case, and seems like a quality build all around. Its also pretty sleek so you don't bulk up your iPad too much.

I have this one: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01D9LJ0IO/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It is nice. I have a 10.5 Pro and with a case on it is a tight fit to get into this sleeve. Without the case it slides in perfectly. The pencil fits regardless.

u/erickinokc · 4 pointsr/ipad

I wanted a hard back case compatible with the Smart Keyboard. Seemed like everything was cut wrong on the camera, buttons, smart connector or other area.

After reading reviews (early ones say the cut is wrong, recent ones say it’s been fixed and is correct), I ordered the MoKo Translucent Slim Hard Plastic Bumper Protector / Back Cover: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0719P6XNB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_VpwvzbV9R9PK8

It arrives today. I’ll jump back in and update this after trying it.

UPDATE: Perfect fit. Looks good, adds very minimal bulk, accommodates the Smart Keyboard just fine.

There are a lot of great choices out there. Logitech's K811 is also a great choice with backlit keys and allows three device profiles. The more you look, the more you'll realize that you're paying a premium price to have matching colors, slim profile, backlit keys and aluminum finish.

u/Lucifeces · 2 pointsr/ipad

Hope it's not too late to be helpful, but the iClever tri-folding keyboard is awesome.

There's a small one and a large one. I have the larger. It's a full size keyboard with backlight functionality. Battery lasts stupid long and it feels incredible to type on.

Has all key commands available and is my favorite because it can be moved anywhere and doesn't have to but up right against the screen.

Find it Here!

I think you should go for it. I never had my pro in college, but I use it for taking notes in meetings at work now and it is awesome. It takes a bit of getting used to because it feels different, but having everything in one place and being able to search through my handwriting (with Goodnotes) is worth it.

I got this case for mine. It's less than $20 and it has a little loop on one side to keep the Pencil in.

My FIRST and formost though is when i get my 12.9 3th gen. I want to keep it safe so i have been looking at full covers and the ZUGU CASE The Muse Case, is atm the one i am looking most at, though hard to get in Denmark.
I need a case that can protect it from bending and other things while with my every day in a backpack with books and a laptop.

After that I have been looking at those keyboards, considering the second one, as it has function keys and backlight, so it can be used for other computers easy.

I bought this screen protector on a whim after seeing someone recommend it in this sub. Couldn't be more pleased with the quality and the price.

I bought Affinity Photo after seeing it in the 2017 WWDC and I'm impressed with it as well. I still use Procreate for most of my photoshopping, but Affinity is far superior for retouching photographs.

Do yourself a favor and save the $$$$.

Bought this case and liked it. The cover is a little slack for what I want, so tried the apple smart cover. No joke, it functions 100% the exact same. The apple has a little better material, but that is it. I was shocked and returned it to apple the next day. Not paying $50 for the same functionality of a $10 case...its honestly shocking apple offers that shite. Yes, its sized to work with the silicone case, but there's another $70. $120 for both, or a $10 case that will do basically all of it.

I just got the icarez matte screen protector yesterday. It was recommended in other threads on this sub, so I went for it. $7 with prime. Couldn't be happier. It feels great writing with the pencil and only has a minimal effect with screen brightness/clarity. I'm glad it came with 2, though. I ended up going through both because they're a lot harder to apply than a phone screen protector.

u/mobyhead1 · 5 pointsr/ipad

I purchased an inexpensive back cover just to have one until a better one comes along. Bad news: the hole for the camera bump is too small. Good news: the vendor notified me of this before my iPad arrived, and they're sending a corrected version free of charge. So I just modified the incorrect cover with a Dremel tool while I'm waiting for the corrected version.

Edit, 11 days later: the corrected replacement back case arrived and fits properly. If you're looking for an inexpensive back case for the 10.5" iPad Pro, I recommend this one.

If you already have cases you like, Amazon & Staples sell these little Apple Pencil cases that can be attached to almost any case. I believe one brand is called Moko and I think Amazon also sells their own version under the 'Basics' brand.

Something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Apple-Pencil-Holder-Adapter-Pocket/dp/B01FD77DFO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1487938442&sr=8-4&keywords=apple+pencil+case

Are you looking specifically for protection in the back? If yes, this works well for me.

Combined with the Apple Smart Keyboard and a tech Armor ballistic glass, this gives me all around protection for most situations.

Bought this. Comes with 2 and is decently priced. Not sure about international shipping, good luck!

I have the Smart Keyboard from apple which i love but it is falling apart a tad bit. I used to use this one of my iPad Air logitech easy switch

u/smkelly · 3 pointsr/ipad

I have the Logitech Ultrathin case. It is fantastic. I highly recommend it.

u/ReliableSource · 2 pointsr/ipad

I got an Amazon basics bluetooth keyboard and it's nice for the money, but too cramped imo, so I'm going to replace it with a Logitech K811 which should be arriving soon. As far as a stand, i got this and think it's good for the price

u/muddworm · 1 pointr/ipad

I'm using the Khomo Dual black case with an apple smart cover. You'll have to cut the cover off of the Khomo to get the smart cover to fit.

u/skeeterou · 2 pointsr/ipad

I got this one and absolutely love it. Front and rear protection!

I got this for my Pencil, lets me attach it to my Smart Cover and adds a better grip to it: FRTMA for Apple Pencil Magnetic... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XJ26RBR?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

u/rsplatpc · 3 pointsr/ipad

I use it for everything because it's way more precise, also for things like swiping up from the bottom you can replace the lightning connector cover with a stylus tip which makes it WAY easier to just use the pencil for everything

The best matte screen protector I found for 9.7 is iCarez Anti-Glare/Anti-Fingerprint Matte Finish Screen Protector for iPad Pro / Air 2 / Air - 2 Pack - Retail Packaging

It only comes with enough stickers for one application, so make sure to put them back on the waxy paper so you can use them again on the second screen application.

Sticking anything on top of the tip would render the pencil useless on your 12.9...for the cap there's this:

This is my ipad-focused case that I keep in my backpack. It contains the following:

(1) USB C to Lightning Cable

(1) USB C to USB C Cable

(1) USB A to Lightning Cable

(1) Foldable Keyboard

(1) USB C Hub

(1) 45W USB C Power Bank & (1) 45W Wall Charger

(1) Set of Apple Airpods

(2) 128GB Flashdrives

I'm also using this case for my iPad, and this screen protector.

Hope this helps!

u/Orbmiser · 2 pointsr/ipad

Well trolling Amazon will give you the best way to glean the info you need.

I went with the MoKo Pencil Case Holder with the ESR iPad 9.7 2018/2017 Case

Cheapo I know but light on funds.

But simple search there should give a lot of options. iPad 9.7 Portfolio

Plenty of Pics & Reviews. More than you would get here.

It does seem like it'd break if someone were to put too much pressure on the tip, but so far, I haven't had any problems with responding to the touch-screen.

u/pro_forma_life · 2 pointsr/ipad

Hey I use this guy. I tried about 6 and am pleased with the way this one works.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L6B636F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is the one I have. It’s easy to put on and take off, and the iPad barely feels any different with it on.

u/flosofl · 1 pointr/ipad

I have a bunch of cases including the new Smartcase. I don't like it. I don't like how the edges flare out from the iPad. I still rotate it in to see if I may get accustomed, but so far it doesn't last more than a day before I swap it out.

My current go to case is this one. I like it because a) it's leather and b)it'svery snug.

I've been using this Logitech keyboard a bit, but when I don't need it I toss the Toblino on.

u/mattyparanoid · 2 pointsr/ipad

I got this, holds the iPad Pro 9.7, in the smart case, small spot for the pencil inside. Cheap and works.

u/_maldorito · 3 pointsr/ipad

I bought the iCarez anti-glare one. I like it for drawing because it adds a bit of tooth to the display, so the pencil doesn't glide too much.

u/ItsOKIamADoctor · 3 pointsr/ipad

I have this one. Works fine, looks fine, and is super cheap.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/MoKo-Lightweight-Smart-shell-Translucent-Protector/dp/B0158AZOHU.
If I am understanding your question, it covers the keyboard attaching bit when the cover is closed, but I suppose it does expose it when the cover is folded back.

u/chubbibunni00 · 2 pointsr/ipad

This is kind of random, but I kept misplacing the cap every time I would charge the pencil until I got this:

I'm facing the same dilemma.

I decided against the Smart Keyboard as I figured for the same $, I could get a keyboard that would be a matter match for me and my larger hands.

I too am thinking of going with a Magic Keyboard and using the Canopy perhaps.

Alternatively, I'm looking at the Logitech K811 keyboard or a Minila Magestouch Mechanical

u/untilthegameiswon · 2 pointsr/ipad

Is there any chance at all that a Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover that was compatible with iPad 2, 3, and 4 will connect to the 10.5" iPad Pro? It doesn't need to function as a case, necessarily, but just be usable as a Bluetooth keyboard.

Edit to add link to product I'm talking about: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B007PRHNHO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Adding a keyboard folio for 12.9' will exceed the weight of macbookpro13. Therefore recommended to select Magic Keyboard + Fintie Carrying Case for 12.9 and Keyboard Folio for 11.

u/jamie1124 · 0 pointsr/ipad

I have a little rubber “leash” that goes over the cap of the pencil and loops on it. It’s nice because I never have to worry about losing the lid and my pencil also doesn’t roll around.

EDIT it’s this thing but I don’t use the tip cover or the adapter leash

u/neonnoodle · 5 pointsr/ipad

The 12.9. I bought the iCarez matte protector:

Just get one of these pencil sleeves or a magnetic pencil sleeve to attach to your case. The pencil and pen case will slide over in it.

I recommend the Microsoft Universal Mobile Keyboard.

A large number of them have been DOA as of late, though, so you might need to go through a few returns to get one that works. Once you have one, though, you won't regret it. I haven't used it long enough to confirm the 6-month battery life claim, but I haven't charged it once since I got it in February.

I picked up a refurbished Apple Magic keyboard and the Fintie case for it, which also acts as a stand for my 10.5 iPad Pro.

https://www.amazon.com/Fintie-Carrying-Apple-Keyboard-MLA22LL/dp/B01K780TN2/ref=mp_s_a_1_3

Couldn’t ask for a better set up. No problems with Bluetooth interference.

u/fwilli · 1 pointr/ipad

I just got this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OKSMA6A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cause I'm not very keen on leather cases(they can get slippery) So far I've got no complaints, it's got more viewing angles then it says(but that's just because balancing is easy) nicely magnetized too. 1 downside is The oil from your skin can get onto the case very quickly so you might have to wipe it off with your sleeve.

The only real "issue" is that if you live on the East Coast, it's probably gonna be shipped through LaserShip. And if you give that company a quick google, you will see most reviews are at or below 1 star. So if you try to get it shipped 1 or 2 days, you might be wasting your money(ordered 2 day shipping on Wednesday, didn't get it until midnight Sunday-Monday(From 1/2 an hour away, extra kick in the ass))

All in all I'd buy it again, and quickly while it's on sale.

Bon chance with your search!

I've got the Logitech Ultrathin keyboard, and I found it works great for notes, but as TrancePhreak stated, the lack of a mouse can be frustrating at times, and it is limited in what else it can do... but on the up side, it's much cheaper, and very small and portable.
