As far as the cameras themselves go, you can pick them up for very cheap (like 16-20 each). Mounting is going to vary based on your particular vehicle and the bumpers/etc you've added. I attached my front camera right to the grille, which has the added benefit of allowing me to see right down my winch line.
Drive time cycle for a misfire shouldn't be all that long. Drive it around for a day or 2 and then check the monitors.
