Benq/Zowie are pretty much the way to go for gaming monitors in that price range, these days. Super low response time (most important thing for fighting games/most gaming in general), and great picture quality.

See if you can find your TV on there and compare it to the monitors. You'll definitely see a marked improvement :)

I have an original PS3 TE stick and it works with windows 10. The issue for me was USB. Apparently the original TE stick doesn't work with more modern USB, so I bought a USB card. This is the one I used. I think the VIA chip is key.

It wont work natively with KI, though...you'll have to use some third party software to get it to working (same for SF5 for that matter).

Xbox One or PC? With reference to the MKX pad, I'm assuming Xbox One. If PC, the Hori Fighting Commander 4 is the one to beat:

As far as Fight Sticks go, it's hard to beat anything Hori for price and the Hayabusa Stick and Kuro buttons are truly great:

If you're a fan of Sanwa Denshi parts instead, I personally bought an old, MadCatz Tournament Xbox 360 fight stick on Craigslist for $60 (may be able to find some for less) and installed the Brooks Universal PCB in it. Most of the installation is insanely easy unless you choose to solder the present USB cable to the board like I did. Since this PCB is Universal, it works on all platforms (save Wii U):

Pad options are fairly limited. You can also just stick with an Xbone/360 pad, which work just as well.

Getting PS sticks to work in KI has always been a chore with hit or miss results, and has actually changed for better and worse after some updates. My Quanba drone actually lost both heavy buttons a couple updates ago even using joytokey and the like. It didn't matter how I set it up, what keyboard keys they were emulating, I just couldn't use my two heavy buttons.

For what it's worth, I use a Hori fighting commander, and I go through two a year. I drop inputs all the time as the d-pad wears out, and doing constant quarter circles in KI in particular gets really unforgiving as it loses sensitivity. So it's hard to say weather your d-pad is going, or if it's KI just being KI.
