> You're trying to say that having a good atmosphere is more important than playing to win

Where in the fuck are you getting this from?

> There is nothing more important in a competitive game than winning, nothing. Certainly not how cordial you are with your fucking team.

Actually that's a really myopic and simplistic approach to something that's a lot more complicated than you think. The most important thing in a competitive environment such as LoL, which is the subject of this thread, is that you enjoy it enough that you continue learning and improving. There is tons of research and literature that talks about this. I'd recommend starting with this one.

In a singular competitive setting like a tournament, then yes, you play to win. The tribunal and other community moderation initiatives however are not focused on tournaments or the LCS. The vast bulk of what they do is focused on moderating the overall community.

> If some one wants to communicate in a abrasive way i'll take that if their play is better than the nicest guy on the planet who is only ever so slightly the lesser player.

Again this is really short-sighted. You will enjoy playing more with the nicer person, and you yourself will find that you improve at a faster rate and you are less likely to go on tilt or get emotional, which is the #1 thing that interferes with the learning process.

Its this book, Weldon mentioned it directly on his YouTube channel. Essentially the science is at that people can only be GENETICALLY selected for running and everything else anyone can be good at if you practice enough. To put that in context tho "practice" is more then the effort you put into something directly but also how your raised. So what's percieved as "talent" is a predisposition to a certain task based on your upbringing. Your upbringing is part of your "training", which can amount to years and years of a year start. For someone like say faker, the idea is that the way he was raised since birth predisposed him to the skills he would need to be good at the game or good at training at the game. I'm not sure what the specifics would he but for the sake of argument let's say he like did activities as a child that improved his hand eye coordination or reaction time, or probably played alot of other games ect. His non-league "training" before he ever heard of the game could amount to 1-17 years of extra practice that other pros just cant overcome

Well taking into account your price range I would say this is probably your best bet; the logitech G402.

It's £40-45 but it is a really reliable accurate mouse. I used to use it myself before I got a razer deathadder (more expensive). The two buttons on the side are comfortable for your thumb, and there are also 2 more up on the clicker. They don't get in the way though and are actually pretty difficult to click, I never even used them, so don't worry about those ones.

The mouse is accurate, reliable, pretty light and free-flowing. Just get a good mouse mat (would recommend steelseries qck) and download the logitech gaming software to adjust your DPI to something you like.

I've been using this after my old one started to fall apart and works pretty well imo. It'll take some getting used to as it will force your wrist in a certain position. Note you have to be consistent and it'll take weeks for you feel a difference. You can wear it throughout the day if you can make it work. I also recommend doing some wrist strengthening exercises like wrist curls with light (2-5lb) dumbbells. You want to make sure your wrist maintains strength as using the brace means you will be using less strength in the general area

Buy a Corsair scimitar RGB PRO, they have black version as well (a little more expensive, same mouse)

  • I have owned 4 razer naga's all of them have broke within 6 - 10 months. I am harsh on them. I assume you will probably too with one handed-ness. The mouse wheel is the main breaker but the sensor dies sometimes (rip mouse) and the right click will break every time in at least 8 months.

  • The scimitar RGB pro is a better built mouse with a steel slider for it to rest upon. The sensor is better as well. The software is 10x better although a little unintuitive (requires you to understand it, not noob friendly). Also the razer software will always freeze and your mouse will freeze for a moment too. Then you have to restart the software this happens probably once every other day.

  • It used to be the only well marketed mouse with lots of buttons no more. The scimitar also has adjustable buttons.
    __
You could also look into Roccat and logitech for their 12 button mice.

Just a tip I'd probably orientate yourself away from champs like lee sin because every time you use a ward on your mouse it will move your cursor causing you to miss your W or be slow to jump.

ADC's are great for one handed-ness. Mostly right clicking so ez-pz challenjour.

Outcome-independence is an extremely valuable concept to understand if you seek to improve your situation in any area of life. The goal should be to perform an action with optimal technique, success will be a long-term bi-product of that approach.

There's a good, and very short, book on this topic called "The Inner Game of Tennis", by Timothy Gallwey. You don't need any interest in tennis, it's more about the mental aspect of improving and competing.

u/randommz · 1 pointr/leagueoflegends

It is generally accepted (maybe even obvious) that it's more important to be effective, rather than put in more hours. You will still put in a lot of hours, because you need repeated practice, but it's about effective hours.

If someone is interested in this topic, a decent book that is written by a researcher who has dedicated his life to this topic is: https://www.amazon.com/Peak-Secrets-New-Science-Expertise/dp/0544947223/

Well, it depends. What budget do you have? Do you want a mouse that's more flashy or subtle? Or one with programmable buttons?

The Logitech G100S is a decent mouse that's relatively subtle and also relatively cheap.

If you have plenty of money to spend, I'd look at the Logitech G700S. It's basically an upgrade from the G100S, same mouse, but more ergonomical + reprogrammable keys and it can be wireless or wired. (I've been using this one for just over a year now, can personally vouch for this)

The G500S I feel is a good comprimise between the two, however I haven't owned one so I can't really vouch for it but it's fairly popular.

I can't really speak for other brands as I've only ever used Logitech, but you can refer to this for cheap, decent gaming mice. The brands are generally very reliable as well (Although I'd stay away from Razer if I were you, they seem to break often but send it back and you'll get a replacement for free)

EDIT: Added links

Hey there, I'm not sure how much you're willing to spend but I've been using this mouse and it's been absolutely amazing. Two extra mouse buttons on the side make it great for mapping pings to it

It's the Razer DeathAdder Chroma in case anyone doesn't want to click the link.

Dear fucking god, I know you can't really tell the difference between high fps's, but getting 20 fps in lane and 10 in teamfights, if I could have a pc and play above 60 fps that'd be better than sex. Since you say that buying wouldnt be the worst thing, I got this link from a redditor a while ago saying you'd be able to run league at 60 fps on this thing, do you think so?

Sorry I don't know much about comps ;_;

u/ahhreggi · 1 pointr/leagueoflegends

I used to have a Razer DeathAdder but I switched to a Logitech G502 and I like it a lot better. Lots of easy-access side buttons, but I mostly use those for games like CSGO/PoE/Overwatch.

I know you already expressed your opinion about mouses with a lot of "weird" side buttons but I'll leave this here: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Lag-Free-Wireless-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00E4MQODC

Basically the buttons are shaped "this weird way" so that you can press them rather sideways without hitting the wrong one. So for example if you are going to use G4 followed by G7 (see pics) you would stroke the mouse sideways with your thumb first in an upward movement and then in a downward one.

Maybe this won't make you more inclined to the idea of playing with mouse only but I think it could help. I would set it up so QWE are the most accessible buttons (the bottom ones) so that you can just move your thumb up, and R, D and F which are more situational on the more difficult buttons. Then rest my middle finger on MB2 (right click) and index on MB1 (which I would set to ping wheel).

If you get comfortable you can even set MB3 (middle click/wheel press) to cam reset and start playing with detached camera which is the only thing I would miss in that setup.

Edit: Forgot to mention; for this to work you will need to set skill casting to quick cast in settings. Quick casting means you don't see aim indicators on the ground when you press a skill, it fires in the direction of your cursor. That's how most people play anyways, it takes about 10 games to get used to quick casting skill shots and then it becomes second nature.

Logitech always make the best mice imo.

G402 or G502 are amazing.

You can get mice which are just fine for less money though.

u/fortehluls · 2 pointsr/leagueoflegends

Best mouse I've ever owned, Never had a single problem with my 3 year old g9x, and have had plenty of friends buy and use the same mouse.

As far as Keyboards go I'd recommened a Logitech keyboard with an LCD, currently on the PBE they are testing making use of the display for stats in game.

Great answer! You have to remember that although you may have the a higher level of knowledge than everyone else, this video is made for a large audience and needs to explain to everyone.

I am a detail guy as well, but I don't think any of our viewers would have stuck around for the video. If you want more details here are a few books I recommend with links to sources: Peak, The Sports Gene.

I have a G502

I love it

Edit: Theres a Newer Model which is cheaper.

u/OrdinaryM · 1 pointr/leagueoflegends

99% sure it is the Asus VG248QE. I went to all stars and these were definitely the monitors that were used, at least for the 1v1 tournament.

u/NA_Feraligatr · 2 pointsr/leagueoflegends

Razer OrbWeaver and the Razer Nostromo have plenty of buttons, cursor control, and a scroll wheel. Plus they're left handed. You'll have to re learn your mouse control on a joy stick however.

Edit: Orbweaver does not have scroll wheel if you get the mechanical variant

I remember magikarpusedfly making a video a few years back telling people about his setup and it was crazy stupid, he didnt use a traditional mouse and keyboard rather a keyboard with a tracking ball fixed into it, dont know what its called. Ill link the video and device used after some research.

Edit: heres the video:- https://youtu.be/aECryQ8O9GM

Edit 2:heres the link for the device:-
