That, my dear friend is the absolutely best thing for this kind of thing. If it can be fixed, this should do it.

Just got this from Amazon the other day. I love it. Take it with you anywhere. Works great. I leave my home at 1am and my kids and wife stay at home alone and this makes her feel much much more secure.

There's this shit called a shower arm. I'm 6'2 and live in a pretty small apartment as well. It cost me like 20$ max and made showers 100% better.

I used these as a welder.
Ran a hotspot on my phone to run a cheap prepaid phone with headphone jack in my welding jacket. Then used safety pins to route the wire inside my welding jacket. They were one of the best things I had to help keep me sane when I did production welding.

Magnesium has been a game changer for me.

A tsp of magnesium powder in an 8 oz glass of warm water, and not only do I sleep better, but my dreams are intensely vivid.

Like switching from a 14" b&w TV to a 65" 4k ultra HD TV.

sheet clips help , like these: https://www.amazon.com/Original-Sheet-Suspenders-fasteners-Adjustable/dp/B00451BG2G there are much cheaper ones, these are just the 1st google result

my husband sleeps like he's on a rotisserie; the clips ensure he doesn't become a burrito

I take a small spoonful of Natural Calm mixed in water before about a half an hour before I go to bed. It really does calm your body down and let you go to sleep. http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Vitality-Calm-Raspberry-Lemon/dp/B00BPUY3W0 I have got a lot of people to take it and they all say it has helped them get a better night sleep.

Either buy garters on Amazon (been using something like these for 10 years) or if you're handy with a thread and needle, sew an elastic band across the corners of your fitted sheets.

The only way to keep the middle of the sheet from wrinkling is having it fit perfectly and not move while you toss and turn.

Well yes, but cycle through multiple grit levels, using a stick or paddle up to a raised surface to help maintain a consistent angle.

By the way, you can find honing paddles similar to what he is using on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UVS62S

Best $15 I've spent in my life. Opened over 1000 jars over 15+ years and it still works

Works for all bottles and don't have to waste duct tapes

I used to wrap gifts for a children's charity (all the stuff you donate in the stores, volunteers like me sorted and wrapped for 30 hours).

This item was vital when wrapping many items in a short time. I did learn that it's not advisable to save tape from year to year; then it's just more trouble than it's worth.

I tried this and didn't like the finished product. The fit was okay, but they didn't end up sealing nearly as well as my shure se215's

Same goes for making hard plastic molds-- I tried Instamorph.

Damp-Rid is great stuff! We leave a tub in the bathroom behind the toilet and it sucks all the moisture out of the air.

u/aquaticsnipes · 1 pointr/lifehacks

Try this instead. It a mug warmer, actually meant for drinks.

Or you could just buy a cheap desktop cellphone stand for the same price as a Koozy, most dollar stores have them, even Wal-Mart generally sells them. Here's one on Amazon for under $3 CDN, which could be even cheaper in the US.

u/Ganglio_Side · 2 pointsr/lifehacks

About $45 at a Lowes nearby my house.

At Amazon for $18 plus shipping.

u/IchBinEinHamburger · 7 pointsr/lifehacks

Maybe this one?

My ex-mother-in-law had the lawn chairs. They were very functional as chairs.

u/Bassflow · 1 pointr/lifehacks

Get damp rid. $10 should last about 6 months.

No it's not an acquired skill there's plenty of good sharpeners out there all you do is stick the knife into it and pull back. Like these I'm a cook and we have things like those in our kitchens to sharpen our knives in-between shifts with no problem. For a home cook it would more than likely last them a life time. For a pro cook just keeps the blade maintained.

Try a portable deadbolt, found here or here or here

3rd one is probably what you're looking for

Alternatively, you could get a wireless door alarm that has a keypad. Found here or here

-
The best part about getting a cheap alarm system is that if he opens the door it will fill the house with a deafening screeching noise. And when you get home, the topic will likely come up "oh we needed to get into your room for [insert innocent excuse here]" So if you choose this option you need to have a conversation beforehand establishing firm boundaries that under no circumstances can anyone go into your room

/u/gravityalwayswins put the basics out there clearly so I won't repeat it, but I thought I would add a couple of things.

Light from devices and light bulbs can be a problem so either don't use them at night, replace them with things that don't use blue light, OR the simplest and what I do - use blue blocking glasses like these.

And the thing that has turned the tide for me? Magnesium. It has to be the right one though. I have been taking magnesium citrate for over a year and it didn't help much. I recently started taking magnesium threonate before bed and it has made a marked difference.
