Hey there! Just a head's up, for $6.59 you can get a wifi antenna here: https://www.amazon.com/WIFI-10-dBi-2-4GHz-Antenna/dp/B000SEQGT2/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1542579366&sr=1-1&keywords=wifi+antenna

I'm not sure of the OP's financial situation, but if need be, I'll toss in $7 via Paypal to pay for this if the OP needs!

I love that you're giving this away. Bravo! I hope the winner is happy (not entering myself as I have an existing system).

Best of luck all!

Split/Second has a decent storyline and some explosive mechanics that make it interesting. Driver: San Francisco an excellent open world racer with a twist, decent storyline and solid retro vibe. Burnout Paradise if you're looking for some open-world arcade-ish racing without much in the way of story line. FlatOut 2 and Carmageddon: Max Damage if you're looking for some mayhem. The TrackMania2 games if you want some fun with physics and an endless set of track possibilities, or grab TrackMania Nations Forever which is free. True arcade racing at it's finest/craziest. Speed Dreams if you're looking for a motorsport sim, and it's free. DiRT Rally if you're looking for rally sport. Freebies SRB2Kart and SuperTuxKart for some kart fun (STK has some new play modes too, worth a look).

You can keep an eye on Project Torque. Supposedly the beta (download is here) is still going on while they sort out their issues with Steam. Haven't verified that though. They do have a discord and seems that peeps are playing.

Here's a very feature rich motherboard that supports unlocking for around $55 US. Another option would be a different processor. This Athlon II B24 is the equivalent of what your processor would be unlocked. This Phenom II X4 945 might be the best for the money.

The most solid dpad I've used so far would be on the Buffalo Classic gamepad. It's a USB Super Famicom controller with an improved Dpad and turbo switches. It's heaven in your hands, especially since it fixed the one thing wrong with Super Nintendo controllers: that notoriously stiff dpad that made button combos hell to put in. This thing is super responsive and by far my favorite controller of all time.

If you want a modern controller that's also affordable and compatible with new games, I'd try the Logitech F310. I personally haven't been able to try one yet but it has quite the reputation for $20 controller. Plus, on the back it has a switch it lets you choos between Xinput and Dinput to work with older games.

A wired Xbox 360 controller will do just fine if you have one, even though the dpad's kinda meh. If you have money to burn, the PS4 controller has the best dpad of any licensed console controller.

Though the Xbone controller has a solid dpad, the wired version's a bit of a gamble because the micro USB plugin is very vulnerable to damage if dropped (I speak purely from experience here). Plus, wireless doesn't have as good response time as wired.

Freelancer will run on just about anything. It is a great space game, with a nice story. Sadly it is not on any online game store, so you need the actually game, and amazon has it, though the price, wow the price. Get it used :). Or find it elsewhere.

Independence War 2: EOC is my favorite space game bar none. Space cowboy up man.

Try out a trackball, like this one

It doesn't answer your question, but if you can move your thumb without problems then it may solve your issue. It will take getting used to, but you can head shot the average player once you are. I have been using a similar trackball since the 90s

I got one of these for $13.37 from Woot back in 2009 or so. Best damn mouse I've ever laid a hand on, and it uses the generic Windows USB mouse drivers unlike most gaming mice (configuration is done with hardware switches on the bottom).

Unfortunately it's discontinued. Its successor, the Abyssus, shows up at $19 on Google Shopping, but I can't vouch for it; I have had some longevity issues with other Razer gear (not mice) in the past.

Here's my solution.

In all honesty, I think it's the graphics card, but TS3 is known to perform horribly on pretty much everything. Could just be the game.

Also, the game + expansion is included in the bundle Command and Conquer: The First Decade. That bundle also has all the old C&C games, and for any price is a steal. Also, the C&C FPS is... well, interesting.

Idk for sure about the Gold version but I can verify that both pirated versions and what you get from the "Battle Chest" work on 8.1

OP's HD 7770 may have even come with one. If not, this should do the job: https://www.amazon.com/C2G-Cables-Female-Video-Adapter/dp/B00006HSM1/

5.1 speakers are cool, but I just don't have the space. The only place I can really put my 2.0 set is on the left/right sides of my monitor, I don't have space for anything else. Guess it's not worth worrying about. These are what I have: https://www.amazon.com/Genius-SP-HF1800A-Three-way-Hi-Fi-Speakers/dp/B0041Q9PZ0 What's stupid is that I paid $64 from a third-party Amazon seller and literally 2 days later they're $58 direct from Amazon, new in both cases. WTF.

> I'm just a point-and-click type of dude, entering a command prompt every once in awhile

I'm the exact same way, I don't need anything fancy and thought I was missing out by not having a mechanical plank. Now I know. Leatherman support is amazing, my dad sent in his (I think it was a Wave? not sure) for replacement and they sent him back the next best model plus a new case. Good stuff.

I'm one of those guys on the "be mad at EA for making the French army DLC" bandwagon; realistically it doesn't affect me at all because I won't be buying the game anytime soon, but the argument about implying inaccurate information about WWI to the younger BF audience resonates with me. Game looks fun as hell though.

  • Core i3-2120 @ 3.3GHz
  • 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
  • EVGA GeForce GTX460 768MB
  • 64-bit Windows Server 2008 R2 (converted to Windows 7 Professional)

Shockingly, I can run the demo at 60FPS with everything at lowest possible settings, running at 1280x720 (50% resolution scale). The problem is massive intermittent stuttering since the tiny VRAM fills up instantly. I'm hoping to upgrade that GTX460 soon.

Its not an issue Ive encountered before with any of my monitors or TVs, so I dont believe its a common issue. The only times Ive run into that error were when the signal were in a resolution or frequency that the monitor/tv couldnt support.

Worst comes to worst, Id suggest getting one of these. http://www.amazon.com/Gefen-HDMI-Cable-feet-Male-Male/dp/B0002CZHN6
