An Exorcist Tells His Story
seems like something you'd find on malefashionadvice
I don't find it particularly fashionable in the sense that well fitting basics don't have seasonality or any sense of zeitgeist-based inspiration.
you can wear this, any day of the week, any time and look good - don't get me wrong - your outfit is fine. it's not fashion, though
I wondered whether it was just my understanding of the term but wiki paraphrases a book by Susan Kaiser for an apt description:
>Fashion is a popular aesthetic expression in a certain time and context, especially in clothing, footwear, lifestyle, accessories, makeup, hairstyle and body proportions.
I'm missing the "in a certain time and context" element. This fit could be part of something as early as the 60s as well as the mids 2010s. Not even because it is a style that comes back in relapses, but because it doesn't seem to change or care about the times it's in.

I haven't started to make my own clothes, but I have taken some in which improve the fit tremendously. I plan on making some pants and I've found the resources below that have been recommended to me either here on reddit by the r/tailor or r/sewing sub and have purchased the books but haven't had time to test out my skills.

See my response here. My recommendations would be pretty lengthy considering my endeavors that focuses on psychotherapy than more classical psychoanalysis. It would require many, many accompanying books and papers.
Search For The Real Self: Unmasking The Personality Disorders Of Our Age– James F. Masterson (considering his graceful abilities to be well-written, I would suggest all of his other works, if you can)
Drive, Ego, Object, And Self: A Synthesis For Clinical Work– Fred Pine
Freud and Beyond: A History of Modern Psychoanalytic Thought – Stephen A. Mitchell
This should give you a pretty good foundation. You may need to do supplemental research.
I just finished reading the book "Ametora: How Japan Saved American Style" Link
Also watched "Dior and I" for the second time the other day. It's on netflix, pretty good.
I haven't finished it, but I got a copy of Ametora from my sister, and I really like it. It sheds light on the role of Japanese fashion in the world today, which I think is quite interesting.
If you want more fun aesthetics of ugliness reading and think you'd be interested in a super visual take with a heavy focus on classical painting, check out On Ugliness by Umberto Eco
Is shine on a reference to wish you were here? This photo looks a lot like the album cover

The Amazon link you posted has a totally different colorway and length from what [you posted] (http://imgur.com/31zIt7N) (The length does not extend past the top of the models fingers.. Yours has a good three inches or more)
It’s on amazon as well, exact same, only it’s 22.99$
Here it is

There's also Metric Pattern Cutting for Menswear, which is a fairly straight forward list of basic menswear patterns. It kinda assumes you already know your way around things like cuffs and collars, but there's plenty of material on the internet to supplement it.

My friend picked up some stuff of mine from his PO Box across the border. Managed to get a pair of Killshots since they don't ship to Canada/can't get in-store shipping here. Also got two books as well.

"The Complete Short Stories" - Hemingway
I use American Crew D:fi D:struct molding creme, and it has a surprising amount of hold. I have longer hair that falls down to just below my eye level with no product in, but this stuff manages to keep my hair pushed back and out of my face all day. I also use this sea salt spray sometimes.
