You can find all of the adaptations in digital form on Amazon. It says "Kindle Edition" on the Amazon site, but if you buy that edition you can read it through the Comixology app as well. As for which ones are worth reading, here's a super quick rundown of a few worthwhile iterations:

Thanos Quest is the prequel to Infinity Gauntlet. It follows, as the title implies, Thanos on his quest to find the Infinity Stones across the galaxy and the deceptions he employs to take them from their caretakers, the Elders of the Universe. Its a very fast read, and because it features the Elders so heavily I would say its worth checking out for an idea of how the MCU Elders might be employed in the upcoming movie.

Infinity Gauntlet is arguably the most famous appearance of the Gauntlet and certainly flaunts its destructive power the most. Many of the iconic scenes having to do with both Thanos and the Gauntlet come from this adaptation.

The Infinity War is the followup to the above adaptation. Even though it shares the title of the upcoming movie I doubt much of this will carry over. The big issue is the lack of Adam Warlock in the MCU, who is a critical part of this storyline. To try and adapt it without him would be pretty much impossible.

Infinity is probably the best bet for an adaptation to read in advance of the movie. Details have leaked that most of the Black Order, who feature prominently in this, will make appearances in the movie, and there is a lot of setup going on in the MCU Phase 3 for a lot of the subplots in this event. By and large the longest of the iterations discussed here (I think it's in the ballpark of 500 pages), but it's clear there will be a lot of concepts and plot points adapted from this.

There are few more adaptations out there (Infinity Crusade for one) that are are worth checking out, but I would say stick with Thanos Quest, Infinity Gauntlet, and Infinity if you want to have the best sense of what to expect from the upcoming movie. Like the other MCU films, don't expect them to copy anything wholesale, but there are plenty of key moments and subplots that will surely make an appearance from each of these stories.

...that turned out to be a much longer writeup than planned. Hope it's helpful!

edit: added a bit more detail for Infinity

I've been reading comics for a while but haven't read any Moon Knight yet and plan on doing so before the show comes out.

The main runs for beginners are:

Charlie Huston/David Finch's Run (Moon Knight #1-13) (this revitalized the character for the modern day)
Warren Ellis/Declan Shalvey's Run (Moon Knight #1-6) (critically acclaimed run)
Jeff Lemire/Greg Smallwood (Moon Knight #1-14) (another critically acclaimed run)

It would probably be easier by using Marvel Unlimited (Marvel's Netflix style subscription to comics)

Or if you want the physical copies your local comic book store. You can try Amazon but it could hard since certain books are out of print.

Huston/Finch's Run Vol. 1 + Vol. 2 - on Amazon
Ellis/Shalvey's Run - on Amazon
Lemire/Smallwood's Run - on Amazon

NOTE: You don't strictly have to read the runs in order. It's like watching Age of Ultron then going back and watching Thor 2. As long as you understand the basic chronology (Huston->Ellis->Lemire) you can read them in any order you want. I've been told the runs are pretty compartmentalized/modular.

Also if you plan on getting Marvel Unlimited it works best with using the app (like on a tablet or a big phone). You can try the browser but I always found it too clunky.

There are a number of comics that are canon to the MCU. There are no tiers to the MCU canon. Contradictions and continuity have nothing to do with canon. With the MCU, something is considered canon if it is an official story in the overall MCU.

The writer of many of the MCU comics, Will Corona Pilgrim, stated: "I don’t write in a vacuum. A lot of the executives – as well as the producers and the co-producers, and of course Kevin Feige and Lou Esposito – have their thoughts on what would be good stories. So as we were having these great meetings we were coming up with different ideas. I was there jotting down little things that I thought would make for great comics that we could do later."

About the comics, WCP says that they lead "into a greater shared cinematic universe that we work so hard to keep coherent with all these spin-offs, tie-ins, TV shows, one-shots, and comics. We definitely want our stories to feel part of that universe..."

He's pretty clear on Twitter that these comics are absolutely canon to the MCU.

The Guidebook to the Marvel Cinematic Universe — Iron Man also has the following about the comics: "The Guidebook will only include information revealed in the final version of each film — nothing from deleted scenes, early drafts or behind-the-scenes features", although "facts, figures and images from the gorgeous Art of books" are included as well as "the all-new stories from the canonical official Marvel Cinematic Universe tie-in comic books."

There are also some comics that are considered "inspired by" the MCU. As WCP says: "The canon ones have that Marvel stamp and the trade dress has a cinematic wide screen feel. Whereas the inspired tie-ins are much more about having another fun adventure with the Avengers. They’re not considered canonical though. Those are just fun adventures with the team because we want to tell more Avengers stories."

--------------------------------------------

All of the comics (except the free Jessica Jones) are collected in the following TPBs:

Avengers: Road to Marvel's The Avengers

Here's what I'd do:

  1. Make sure all your favorite characters are represented with some large items. I have Mjolnir, a Hulk fist, an Iron Man helmet (I couldn't find the one I have because it's from a Halloween costume, but I've wanted this one for a while and I think it'd be worth it), and a metal Eye of Agamotto (it's out of stock right now, but it's really great), and a plush Spider-Man (can't find on Amazon because it came in Collector Corps). I really need something for Cap.

  2. Get smaller items for other characters. I would go with FunKo. FunKo is hands down my favorite Marvel merch. I have an Ant-Man, a Coulson, a Doctor Strange, and many others. I also get a lot of FunKo's from Collector Corps, which I really recommend if you like FunKo. Every month you get $50 worth of collectibles for $25 plus $5.95 shipping. You get exclusive FunKo figures, a t-shirt, a FunKo variant comic, a patch, a pin, and a random other item (like a coffee mug or something). They come out every two months. Very fun and cheap.

  3. Get a centerpiece. My centerpiece is a set of Dr. Pepper Avengers cans like these that I put on a Collector Corps box from Civil War.

Here's the main part of my collection. I have other stuff around my room (I'm 16).

Marvel Now Run:

One

Two

Three

Moench:

One (This one can be a bit rough to get through. I recommend doing the 1980 run digitally if it’s available in good quality. The run is good but only the pit of print second one is the real run)

Two (This is the one that’s out of print so digital will be much better priced)

Three (This has the absolute BEST issues and the worst. All of Moench’s issues are classics here, but he leaves like 10 issues in and Zelenetz takes over and he’s no good.)

It’ll probably be best to go digital and just read issues 1-33

Hutson:

This run is currently out of print as well but it should show up as “Moon Knight (2006)” on digital sources

Lemire:

Hardcover

There's so much going on in the comics that the best way to learn is to get immersed in a good story. That said, I very highly recommend the following:

Thor: God of Thunder #1 - #11 by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic (#1 - #5 are on Kindle unlimited here)
Thanos Vol. 2 #13 - #18 by Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw
Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 - #5 by Donny Cates and Dylan Burnett
Secret Wars by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic
Venom Vol. 4 #1 - #6 (on Kindle Unlimited)
Infinity Gauntlet by Jim Starlin and George Perez
The Vision #1 - #12 by Tom King and Gabriel Walta

Some of those directly influenced the movies, some are just amazing stories in their own right.

I've heard Hickman's Fantastic Four and Avengers runs are very good as well, but I haven't read them myself.

Some ongoing books worth checking out are:

House of X / Powers of X
Immortal Hulk
Venom
Absolute Carnage

The first season is excellent. The second has its moments, but is overall vastly inferior.

You can buy the English Blu-ray of Season 1 at a much lower price than the US version. I'm American, but I ordered my copy from England, and saved a lot of money that way. The English version is region-free, so it will play perfectly well in US Blu-ray players. The disc contents are also the same as the US version. The only difference is the packaging.

You can currently order the "Agent Carter" Season 1 Blu-ray from England for a mere £9.99 (US $12.99) + shipping at Amazon.co.uk here:

u/apocalypsenowandthen · 7 pointsr/marvelstudios

Plus you can get the entire thing in two trades (links for Vol 1 and Vol 2 I'm pretty sure the origin story is in there somewhere as well. Vol 1 specifically mentions "Immortal Iron Fist: The Origin of Danny Rand 1".

u/Feytale · 1 pointr/marvelstudios

For anyone wanting to pick up the series. The first series is $10 off on Amazon right now. The series goes down in quality after that, but if you like the Runaways you'll still enjoy it.

u/bflaminio · 1 pointr/marvelstudios

The Phase 1 boxset used to be real cheap, but it seems those days are gone: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075YMJC9R/ (£80; about US$108).

On the other hand, the Phase 2 set is an absolute steal: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075YLSBY2/ -- £30; about US$40.

Keep watching Amazon; hopefully Phase 1 gets cheap again. But if you want six movies for cheap, jump on the Phase 2 set.

u/totalysharky · 5 pointsr/marvelstudios

This isn't exactly Marvel Studios related but there are A LOT of Marvel comics available on Amazon right now for very cheap. For example, Infinity Gauntlet is only $2.20 on there, marked down from $24.99. I should note the sales are for the digital versions that can be read on Kindle and/or Comixology.

u/Teeshirtandshortsguy · 2 pointsr/marvelstudios

It's from the Thanos comics. This panel is from Thanos Wins.

Edit: Amazon link if you're interested.

u/Massawyrm · 1 pointr/marvelstudios

TRIUMPH & TORMENT is my personal favorite and a must read. Doctor Strange + Doctor Doom drawn by Mike Mignola? Yes please.

u/jrcprl · 4 pointsr/marvelstudios

Isn't that how they named Captain America in Russia?

EDIT: Turns out in Germany too. Fun fact, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is named "The Return of The First Avenger" there.

https://www.amazon.de/Return-First-Avenger-Blu-ray/dp/B00J5CA0AE/

u/lmo2th · 3 pointsr/marvelstudios

Yes there is! Amazon sell it. There is also a DVD equivalent if Blu-Ray is a it too pricey for some.

u/PrestoMovie · 3 pointsr/marvelstudios

I was going to say, what about this new book, but this looks like it might actually be a children’s novel.

u/operarose · 11 pointsr/marvelstudios

I spotted a novelization at Wal-Mart that seems like it's MCU canon and about these two!

u/hypedup80 · 1 pointr/marvelstudios

BTW, this is from "Cosmic Ghost Rider #1" by Donny Cates.

The arc is called "Baby Thanos Must Die" and is a direct follow-up to the "Thanos Wins" arc, also by Donny Cates.

There is also a Hardcover that collects both arcs

You should read them both. Just 11 issues in total. Amazing stuff.

u/piconet-2 · 2 pointsr/marvelstudios

You're welcome! You can try this for metal but it's a lot pricier https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01EXCC148

u/LRedditor15 · 6 pointsr/marvelstudios

Yeah, they are both official. The 4th season isn't digibook anymore but the 5th season is. If you want the 5th season in a non-digibook form, buy this.

u/is2gsawyer · 2 pointsr/marvelstudios

It's a prelude novel type of thing, about what teamCap, Strange, GotG and Thor were up to since their respective movies. Here's a link to Amazon. I didn't read the thing, just saw these pages leaked on tumblr/twitter. Don't think there is a lot of Tony in it anyways, so I'm not going to purchase it.

u/Cafeterialoca · 5 pointsr/marvelstudios

This can help.

https://www.amazon.com/Runaways-Complete-Collection-Brian-Vaughan/dp/0785185585

It collects the first 18 issues which in itself is a complete story, and probably will be the first season of the show. The book was originally supposed to end there, but popularity brought it back.

https://www.amazon.com/Runaways-Complete-Collection-Brian-Vaughn/dp/0785187847/ref=pd_bxgy_14_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=SZ9V7PWF97Y5E4VJ0YDG

After a while, the original writer left, and Joss Whedon took over. (He's kind of a step down in the book).

After that, the book gets kind of loose, bouncing from writer to writer til it unfortunately gets canceled.

https://www.amazon.com/Runaways-Complete-Collection-Brian-Vaughan/dp/0785189173/ref=pd_bxgy_14_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=XYG7S3EM1YFF6BNHSC7R

https://www.amazon.com/Runaways-Complete-Collection-Terry-Moore/dp/078518905X/ref=pd_bxgy_14_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=QCF0DDR8M0RR35DARJVD

Still, it's a great read, and the first Volume you should at least check out. The Secret Wars Run BTW has nothing to do with the Runaways Team though.

u/Vawqer · 2 pointsr/marvelstudios

There is a little bit of the Dorae in the Black Panther prelude (and maybe the IW? I don't remember.) You can order individual preludes though. This is the one for Black Panther, which is an original story: https://amazon.com/Marvels-Panther-Prelude-Corona-Pilgrim/dp/1302909428/

Note that the paperback I linked collects seven comics, but only two are MCU. You could buy the digital versions of the two comics for a total of four dollars instead. Or maybe even your library has it, if your library has comics.

u/comrade_batman · 13 pointsr/marvelstudios

Marvel's Avengers: Endgame - The Art of the Movie

Still fairly cheap on Amazon but since they only print a finite amount of them for each film, the price usually goes up.

u/Uncanny_Doom · 57 pointsr/marvelstudios

Start with Warren Ellis' run and then when you're done with that you go Jeff Lemire.

u/Cidthesloth86 · 1 pointr/marvelstudios

It's finally started to pop up for preorder.
Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. S4 - Limited Edition Blu-ray Digipack [2018] [Region Free] https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07CZVP64N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_BN.9Ab72KT0G9

u/IFuckingLoveJJAbrams · 2 pointsr/marvelstudios

There's a couple of them floating on Amazon but they're expensive ... damn.

u/TheSecondLesson · 1 pointr/marvelstudios

Bucky should be wearing Cap’s gear by now.

Also, the rise of doom should be a standalone film with the focus solely on doom.

A4 should have shown Marvel that villains don’t always have to lose.

Lastly, some of dooms best material is when he was working alongside Strange. Don’t start them off as adversaries.

Edit: for those interested

u/mikewhoneedsabike · 2 pointsr/marvelstudios

Yes! That was the same problem for Winter Soldier and Thor the Dark World.
In Germany, Captain America The Winter Soldier was titled "The Return of the First Avenger" and Thor 2 was titled "Thor: The Dark Kingdom" and Civil War didn't have Captain America in the title. It was just titled "The First Avenger - Civil War"

Seriously. If you don't believe me check out the German Blu-rays:
