I love this little box and love that I can fit everything I need in it! Just thought I'd share my layout for anyone looking into pelican cases.

Edit: the containers on the top right are abv(left) finishing grinder(middle) and pre ground weed (right) that couldn't make it into the trench.

No, I'm pretty sure that is for a different battery chemistry. Check this out, this charger is the best I've used so far and I use it for e-cigs, the mflb, etc. It handles everything

I'm guessing no one actually enlarged your photo, since it's hosted like it's 2004. To host in a way the RES (Reddit Enhancement Suite) can display here you must post an url that ends in ".jpg" or whatever file type. Imgur is the best free site for this.

Second Your grind is bad. I don't want to make you feel bad, but you are severely limiting the performance of your box by using herb like this. It should be ground as close to kief consistency as possible.

This picture Demonstrates what your grind should look like. The grind on the left is from a normal 4 piece, the grind on the right is from the Finishing Grinder. Basically Kief. Think it's like $20 on Amazon.

This picture shows a normal 4 piece grind, upside down 4 piece and the FG grind. Just without comparison objects.

As you can see an upside down 4 piece is nearly FG quality grind. Less consistent, but totally usable. If I held the grinder upside down for longer I could probably get all the way there. Or very nearly.

Alternately people will put herb in a pill bottle with a coin and shake it up, to get a fine grind.

If you don't have a grinder This is a great 4 piece that is about as affordable as fancy coffee.

4-5 hits and I'm feeling pretty good. I've found that the most important factor, is the battery. Like how long to hold the battery before attempting to sip. And knowing how often and how much to sip to keep a good temp. And that as you vape a trench and use up the battery, it takes longer.


Also, about charging them. I don't recommend using the charger that came with your mflb. I know with mine the batteries got really hot with it. I have This One that I got from Amazon. Its fantastic.

The gold batteries are great, but I'd also advise looking into non-mflb brand batteries. I've had a lot of success with Powerex, they last as long as the ones on the mflb site. You just gotta strip them which is a little annoying.

Actually, you can get a finishing grinder for just over $23 including shipping on Amazon right now. The cherry one is the cheapest at the moment, but the price difference for the others is only a few dollars.

Breaking it into small chunks with my hands generally works fine for me, unless the bud hasn't been dried well enough. You should be able to get close to the same grind with most two piece grinders, but it will most likely be a lot more work. One thing that's pretty important in the launch box is having a consistent grind, and that's where the finishing grinder excels. Because of the way it works, it gets a very fine, consistent grind in one pass.

Also, after a certain period of time, condensation under my screen made my MFLB not heat really effectively. I know you say you're a broke college student... been there, trust me. But get good batteries, and a good charger. This is really the only option. If you use daily get the Energizer 15 minute charger, and the PowerEx 2700... The PowerEx even come with a great plastic case that holds 4 batteries.

-SAVES MATERIAL! Smoking is a huge waste imo. The MFLB only uses like .1 or .2 Gs per trench. It only takes me one trench to get reasonably high, 2 to get higher, and 3 to get pretty damn high.

It's definitely your batteries. You can buy 2 new ones for $10+shipping from MFLB, but any rechargeable over 2200-2400 mAh will work. I bought my box before they came out with the Glyph batteries, the ones that came with mine lasted about a year and a half of daily use before I broke down and bought some 2200 mAh Duracells from Wal-Mart. They lasted maybe 6-8 months each but were shitty quality, I just wanted to vape again. I bought 2 glyphs and they were better than the original ones had ever been, I lost one but the other is still going strong after almost a year in rotation with the Duracells.

I've never used them, but these were the standard recommendation before the glyphs came out. I think they're comparable and cheaper. But now I have a power adapter which I got heavily marked down (less than $50) during Black Friday sales and it has absolutely been worth it, to the point where I bring it with me when I go out and find a discreet outlet rather than relying on batteries. I think it's overpriced at full retail but I understand why they charge so much, just glad I got one before they start cracking down on resellers. I've spent maybe $160 all told on my box, PA, and the replacement batteries, and the MFLB has still saved me money (I think) on weed.

Yikes, Amazon only charges me $10 here in the US for those Powerex batteries. I don't know if the duracells are worth it either(never used them), but if they're like the Amazon Basics high capacity batteries, they'd probably be better bang for the buck. For reference, they seem to be slightly better than the OEM batteries that come with the box.

You can get something like these and pack the ABV in them as well. They look like just some shit you'd get from a health food store and as long as you have food/drink in your stomach when you take 'em, you won't have any discomfort. Two or three will treat you like a nice sized brownie would.

These are the batteries I went with. They hold more of a charge, seem to be more powerful, and are less expensive. A lot of the reviews also say how well they work with the MFLB. All you need to do is peel off the wrapper and clean them. It took be about 10 minutes to peel all them off and clean off the glue with some 90% iso.

Keep your box clean, use fresh batteries(seriously gotta keep these things charged to work well) I would highly recommend the finishing grinder i can't really recommend the Power adapter as I have never owned one, but I hear it's a game changer. I personally moved on to a pinnacle pro vaporizer, but the MFLB still has a spot in my heart.

Glad to help - the box shorts out the battery as part of how it works, so it does weaken the batteries over time. all you have to do with either is peel the outer sticker off around them. I use a knife point to get under and peel it off. I hear wd-40 and a rag gets any stickiness off really quick.. and then you're good to go! and they work with the existing charger.

Don't skimp out and buy a knock off either, get this exact one. $30 is not that much considering how many times you're going to use it. Also, because of the fantastic "refresh" cycle; you'll get much more life out of your batteries.

Anecdote: I had 6 old AA rechargeable batteries that I was going to throw away, because they just couldn't hold a charge anymore. These things were older than most cars on the road today. Using this charger I was able to keep 4 of them. Imagine how long they would have lasted if I had bought something like this the day I bought those batteries!!! They'd probably NEVER die!

use mine with my Da Buddha as well and at least to me, the difference is noticeable. Just grind up in your regular grinder as step one, put a couple pinches in your finishing grinder and you get instant powder.

I got mine for $11 and it works perfectly. I just apply the grind button 3 - 4 times in short, one-second bursts. It also spins all the kief out for easy collection and has a retractable cord!

I use my finishing grinder straight into a No Goo container now rather than straight into the MFLB.

It fits perectly, keeps my on-the-go kit smaller as I don't need to carry my bud pot and grinder with me, helps keep the smell down, speeds up re-loading and gives me a good idea how many trenches I have left before I reorder more.

I got that really popular grinder off amazon that like $8 and I just turn it upside down and grind for a while and then put the weed in a film container with a dime and shake it for 5 to 7 minutes and it works really well. The longer you shake the more fine the herb will get.

If you have a good charger with a "refresh" feature, you can possibly get even better life by doing a refresh/recondition cycle every once in a while.

i just ordered this one yesterday i thought it was marked down pretty nice, not sure how good it is yet, because i haven't used it!

There's no way to reverse battery degradation, however a new set of batteries are pretty cheap. I like to order from puff it up, here is a link to where you can purchase a new set of batteries!

Awesome! And no problem at all. For a good grinder for the MFLB, everyone seems to say that the finishing grinder works really well, and apparently you don't even need to grind the herb before hand-- just break it up with your fingers a little bit. The only annoying thing is it's $40, which seems a little overpriced given its size, but I was looking around and found it on Amazon for almost half the price! And here's a blog post from Magic-Flight that introduces it and talks about it a little bit.

These are the ones I ordered. LSD, and come in a case, good enough for me! Same performance as glyphs for me.

If you want a cheap and solid one , id recommend you the Chromium Crusher you just have to turn it upside down and grind it until it's good for you. The only bad thing I can say about this grinder is the hole are a little big but worth the 15-20$!

If you can grab Glyph batteries then go for it.

I find that my exhaled vapor is the primary source of odor when I use my MFLB.

Get a Smoke Buddy, crack your window, wet towel under the door, and get a Febreeze or glade outlet odor eliminator (you can just buy it at walmart), and there will be almost no chance that you're gonna stink up the house. All of this isn't neccessary, but these are some options and you can mix and match them to keep the smell at a level that you need.

Just talk with your parents and tell them that you're trying to keep the smell contained and ask for feedback, to make sure that they can't smell it.

Edit: I can also vouch for these candles if you'd rather use this than the outlet odor eliminator.

I got mine on Amazon like most people I assume. Everyone around here usually reccommends 2700s (nullvader linked to them), I did too for a while. But after a few months, they lose their charge if you don't use them for a few days.

Yesterday I found the batteries the box comes with, 4/$14. They're not as powerful but they're quite strong and they're low self-discharge, so you don't have to use them right after charging. Leave a few charged and they should be mostly full for a few months. Link!

I use one of these. It works fine as long as I keep it turned upside down so the herb doesn't fall through the holes. For that matter, your space case will probably work if you just flip it over.

I make pills out of mine so I don't have to taste it.

I buy empty gel caps on amazon for cheap and then just stuff the AVB in there with the tube from a small pen to tamp it down tight. Takes anywhere between 4 and 10 pills to get me high, depending on how dark I've been making it.

I charge mine whenever they die, I just keep a few spare. You're charging the batteries so fast because they only need a partial charge. In reality they full charge in about 2 hours for a single battery, and 3 hours if you charge 2 at once. My preferred batteries are these ones. They're really stron and allow for hard hits, but you have to be careful to not combust with these.

I havent tried any of the gel caps, gonna try it when I get my new box.
But from what i've heard most people prefer size 00 instead of 000 because the 000's can be a bit difficult to swallow.

May be a lil above your price range but its worked really well for me. It charges quick and gives you stats and shit on the battery charge time.

I fucking hate the tin it comes with. It always gets stuck because the design of the grinder itself is fundamentally flawed.

There's a small lip that traps weed in the grinder. If you give the grinder a smack against a hard surface when you're done using it, you'll find that a not insignificant amount of weed was trapped inside it.

So you place your grinder in the tin, the weed escapes and the tin gets humid, sticky and gummed down.

Which is extra annoying because if you're not at home, you often don't have your other grinder or a place to store this excess weed. So you either have to waste it (rip) or keep it in the tin which causes this.

Do yourself a favour and just buy a cheap coffee grinder and just store the ground weed in a pill bottle or something. Weed that's on the drier side is better to vape anyway so you shouldn't worry too much about using freshly ground stuff like you do when rolling a joint.

I hate when people advocate against SmokeBuddy's claiming they are too expensive. You spend $ on way stupider shit throughout the week. Spending $7-11 shipped on Amazon with Prime for a Smoke Buddy that kills all smells a 1000x better than any home made sploof is WAYYYY WORTH IT!

Go to Amazon and search SmokeBuddy if you want to keep it legit. I used the MFLB in a hotel with a SmokeBuddy and opened the windows with a fan. Absolutely no smell or lingering smell at all.

EDIT 2: Also I forgot to mention the Number #1 killer of smells...OZIUM!!!! You MUST get a bottle of Ozium, two sprays = 15-20 sprays of febreeze, lysol....It is quite expensive but you can find the big bottles (3.5 oz) for $5 at Walmart. Ozium + SmokeBuddy + MFLB should be sufficient to mask 90% of smells but and this is a very important BUT, the box smells, weed smells, and if you are smoking a few trenches, opening the box exposes the trench to the air and leads to a bit of a smell and if you smoke more than a few trenches it will definitely stink and you will need at least 10 sprays of Ozium and a prayer that no one smells it (haha very paranoid here but you gotta be to hide the smell of that KUSHHHH!)
