The two most popular cases are the RDS case and the PDP case. I don’t own the PDP case but I did research it before purchasing the RDS case. Both cases hold everything that’s included. The RDS case holds the controllers in the top while the PDP case has dedicated cutouts in the foam for the two controllers. The RDS case is superior for storage because it has extra room after storing the basic items (console, controllers, power cord/adapter, HDMI cable). Most people tend to use that extra storage space for controller extension cables. The RDS case is also $10 cheaper on amazon.

To sum it up...

If storage and price are your main concerns, go with RDS.

RDS Case

If you don’t care about price, want a hard plastic shell, foam cut-outs for your controllers, and prefer the aesthetics of the PDP case then go with that one. Some people really like the look of it with the swappable game cards on the front. To each their own!

YEp it's pretty bad at about $35 if you don't need tracking (First class which is the cheapest method) I traded one to someone in Australia and was able to drop the shipping price to $23.50 by removing the AC power cable and HDMI cable ( we both just kept the ones that came with our units - I did send the AC adapter since the AU version did not come with one and the US one did) - and then watching how much packaging material was used and cutting 2 of the 4 flaps off the box on top and bottom and taping it shut) -- The USPS charges $23.50 for up to 2 Lbs. and then 2Lbs. 1 oz. goes up to $35 - and the US unit as it comes weigh a couple ounces over 2 Lbs. but removing the 2 cables gets it under 2 lbs. enough to allow it to be put in a box wrapped in bubble wrap.

IF you don't mind modding it - the easiest way would be to get the JP version from Amazon Japan for $85 shipped ( you have to change the site language to english and sign up for an account but it isn't too bad ) and it usually takes less than a week to arrive ) - https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B075MK6THW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AN1VRQENFRJN5&psc=1

OR if you don't want to sign up for an account there Amazon US has them for $91 ( https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Super-Famicom-Classic-Console-Japanese/dp/B075MK6THW/ref=sr_1_5?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1519695872&sr=1-5&keywords=snes+mini)

Then either sell the US one or Return it and then mod the Japanese version to English or set it up as a dual boot with both the Japanese set of games and the US set. ( OR keep both ! )

I got a bit carried away and wound up with one of each version - https://s26.postimg.org/74o3571vb/collection.jpg

I bought mine from the weird digital download link.
"Nintendo Digital Downloads/Game Trust Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition" that now points here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0721GGGS9/

I checked from my order page.

And later I got an email that said: "We recently learned that we may miss your delivery promise and apologize for the inconvenience. You will still receive your order of Super NES Classic. "

u/knightirderx25 · 7 pointsr/miniSNES

This is the case that the GameStop email was mentioning about. It’s quite pricy at $29.99, and it comes with 6 game faceplates: Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Link to the Past, F-Zero, Super Metroid and Star Fox 2.

They're up for pre-order at Amazon.

That's what one of the employees I talked to said. Then I went to customer service and asked about it. I gave them the SKU number and it showed my store having many more than the employee thought. That'd probably your best best

Just like the NESCE, Prima had a tie-in Playing With Super Power book that launched with the SNESCE. There is a HC and SC edition.

I don’t own it; I can’t speak to its contents. But I’m sure there are lots of reviews to consult.

Edit: Link fixed (I think)

u/joshmoneymusic · 2 pointsr/miniSNES

Speaking of SNES books, does anyone know much about the SNES "Playing with Super Power" book I keep seeing everywhere? Is the publisher any good?

u/RolandMT32 · 1 pointr/miniSNES

I see, thanks.

I found a guide for setting up USB-Host, and it sounds like you can use a USB flash drive with an adapter on the back of the SNES Classic. The guide mentioned a left-angle OTG adapter which you can buy on Amazon. I looked at a couple stores this weekend and was surprised that these adapters seem to be hard to find at local stores. I don't mind buying one from Amazon though.

8bitdo SNES adapter. Allows you to hook up pretty much any bluetooth controller. 8Bitdo Retro Receiver for SNES Classic, SFC Classic and NES Classic (Bluetooth) - Super NES; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076B995TL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_CDD2CbHKWV17B

Like this for 69.99 pounds: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B073BVHY3F/ref=mw_dp_olp?ie=UTF8&condition=all

Directly from amazon.uk and it states it has amazon global shipping

I understand and I know the NA version looks like the one we used to have. No problem, good luck!

u/nstern2 · 2 pointsr/miniSNES

Does anyone know if this will be compatible with the snes classic too? I already have an original nes30 gamepad that I would love to use.

u/Uberrich84 · 2 pointsr/miniSNES

At the moment, there is one by PDP; however, the release date is November 15th (Don't know why thou.). o_0 I'm hoping for RDS as well, guess we'll see next week. :)

Interested in cheap? I am. Some of the cheap ones for the NESC had lots of wireless disconnection complaints. The My Arcade GamePad did not so I got it. It's been really reliable so I'm happy with it. They make a fairly cheap My Arcade GamePad Pro version with buttons that should work on the SNESC (I think/hope). So I'll probably end up with one or two of them. The controller look and shape is completely unauthentic, but cheap will probably win for me...

Just like last year, along with the classic NES, Nintendo Japan also released their own classic console which was the mini famicom:

https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-classic-computer-No-Operating-System/dp/B01M1VMFUA

This year, along with the mini SNES, Nintendo Japan is releasing mini super famicom.

In the Philippines, we get both.

u/RansomIblis · 1 pointr/miniSNES

And right now on my WiiU I'm able to play NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, and WiiU games with homebrew. You can also head to eBay to pick up a SNES controller that plugs into Wii remotes (or Amazon, apparently... wow) to play SNES games the way they were meant to be played. It's a golden age.

u/mrpopsicleman · 2 pointsr/miniSNES

I've got My Arcade's 2 button and 4 button NES Classic controllers. Both work really well. Hopefully this one will too. On the 4 button, everything is mapped the same as a Wii Classic Controller.

u/Heisenmack · 4 pointsr/miniSNES

Go with the 8bitdo sn30 2.4g. Works like a champ.

My Walmart order is still good to go for Oct 3. :)

Anyway I just got a Meesage from Eu Amazon that pre-order went up at 5:30am this morning on 7/26/2017 from my email, but when i went to link to https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B073BVHY3F/ref=pe_2515591_197852591_em_1p_0_ti it said out stock still. Was it a all ready out of stock or not real update for pre-order and amazon jump the gun on the update for pre-order?

Did you know Amazon will donate a portion of every purchase if you shop by going to smile.amazon.com instead? Over $50,000,000 has been raised for charity - all you need to do is change the URL!

Here are your smile-ified links:

I use this microSD card to USB adapter, which came with one of my miscroSD cards:https://www.picclickimg.com/00/s/MTA2NlgxNjAw/z/kHYAAOSwjDZYgO3E/$/SANDISK-NEW-Micro-SD-to-USB-Memory-Card-_1.jpg

looks like this when the microSD card is inside: https://www.picclickimg.com/00/s/MTA2NlgxNjAw/z/DhEAAOSw9GhYgO3J/$/SANDISK-NEW-Micro-SD-to-USB-Memory-Card-_57.jpg

then I plug this inside the OTG, I ordered this, which gave me two adapters with different angles and one of them fits for the snes. https://www.ebay.com/itm/333312241438

but of course you can also go for something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OCBXIY8

if you use the multi OTG, you can just stick your SD card or microSD card inside one of its slots and won't have to use any USB adapter.

u/evanglaz · 2 pointsr/miniSNES

I'm not sure if Nintendo's going to make one, but there's a really nice Nintebdo licensed PDP one for preorder here

u/Syrijon · 2 pointsr/miniSNES

Looking at Amazon they do already have several products like controllers out there, so I don't doubt they will release this. Then again, judging only by Amazon reviews for their NES GamePad Pro the reactions are very mixed.

u/imapdog · 5 pointsr/miniSNES

[Amazon France] (https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B073BVHY3F) is where I ordered mine this morning, use Google translate. It did cost $130 with the currency exchange and shipping, but I like the look of this better than the US

u/5-s · 1 pointr/miniSNES

There was even an official SNES controller that was available as part of club nintendo: https://www.amazon.com/Club-Nintendo-Super-Famicom-Classic-Controller/dp/B004TL1K0A/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1503322075&sr=1-1&keywords=snes+wii It's kind of expensive now, but it certainly was possible to use real controllers.

u/Air2Jordan3 · 3 pointsr/miniSNES

Amazon. I just looked up the order, It was $10.99 for 2 extension cables, both 13' long. There's plenty on Amazon that come with either 1 or 2 cords if you do or don't need both. I think there was a listing for $9.99 for two that are 10' long each, but the extra dollar was worth another 3'.

u/ces715 · 2 pointsr/miniSNES

Nice, that means I can use my 8bitdo NES Classic dongle with it.

u/BeanForsythe · 3 pointsr/miniSNES

I got mine from Amazon Japan.

It ships internationally however you will need to create a separate account for Amazon Japan.

u/FunkyBoost · 1 pointr/miniSNES

It's going to be cool using the SNES controllers on the NES Classic. I do feel bad for the people who dropped $70+ on the Club Nintendo Super Famicom controller.
https://www.amazon.com/Club-Nintendo-Super-Famicom-Classic-Controller/dp/B004TL1K0A/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1498919727&sr=8-8&keywords=nintendo+club+controller

u/Sedobear · 3 pointsr/miniSNES

I found one on Amazon, for $100USD. Seems worth it to me even if I can get the US one on gamestop for $80, I would rather spend the extra on the EU one.

From the discord (link is under Help in hakchi 3.5.3): " Inateck OTG Adapter
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00OCBXIY8
Note: Do not get the USB-C version.

We do not recommend the small angled adapter featured on snesclassicmods.com and elsewhere. It looks great, but easily loses data connection at the slightest nudge."

u/JCreazy · 6 pointsr/miniSNES

Amazon

Controller

Receiver

Of course this is the SNES controller that closely resembles the SNES. There are other options.

This is the cheapest option if you want the controller and receiver, especially if you get it used.

u/Shifted4 · 1 pointr/miniSNES

It fits the controllers fine. I have the club nintendo super famicom wii controller (https://www.amazon.com/Club-Nintendo-Super-Famicom-Classic-Controller/dp/B004TL1K0A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1505507544&sr=8-1&keywords=club+nintendo+snes+controller) and use it as a second controller for my nes classic and it fits in the case. The foam sort of molds around the sides of the controller since it is slightly wider than an nes controller. I would imagine the snes would fit as well though the cutout may not be exactly perfect. That foam kind of molds around stuff though so it would probably work fine if they don't release a new one and the snes classic is the same size or slightly larger. If it was smaller it might flop around but I doubt it is smaller.

Keep both and add the Japanese version.
Nintendo Famicom mini

u/Jaydeekay80 · 1 pointr/miniSNES

The unpatched chd comes out to around 270mb. Space isn't really an issue for me though because I have one of these along with a 64gb flash drive hooked up to the back of the system.

Just setup RetroPie last night and at about 1am got Sonic and Tales running. Was incredibly easy.

This controller will be here Thursday.

Was more or less morally against roms until now. Fuck you nintendo, you deserve this.

u/Decyde · 1 pointr/miniSNES

Yea, I saw that one too. I'm not sure I need a $50 controller with all the stuff they have on there.

I was more looking at these

Nope. Prime Day is already live in the UK and there is no deal or anything

usb otg adapter

I’d go with this style. I found that with the right angle adapter I was putting a lot of stress on the micro USB port on the snes by taking it in and out a bunch of times. This style won’t have that problem.
