Yeah I got a monocular and it's great. I have this one: Wingspan Optics Explorer High Powered 12X50
I've driven all sorts of cars, SUVs, trucks, you name it. Never really had a problem with visibility. These were all LHD cars and I'm blind in my right eye, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
My blind spot is for the most part covered by my mirrors. I would imagine any car could be made workable if you picked up some of those little stick-on convex mirrors, or something similar.
