Not at all related but when I was a kid growing up in super rural Arkansas I had a neighbor that would climb and mount a deer stand that looked somewhat like this one to the telephone poles every fall and bag deer as they would cross the road to get from the woods to the creek.

My parents always thought he would electrocute himself (perhaps he has since we moved) but he was nice enough to share meat with us every year and apples from his trees so we never complained.

This is the one that I bought a long time ago. It is no longer available. I have bought them since. Amazon is not showing what I have bought since.

Edit :YOUR right to clean air is more valuable than their right to smoke. (Originally worded backwards)

I had neighbors like this in the apartment below me in NYC. I found all sorts of laws against it. I also bought a thing called “liquid ass” and would spray their door mat and doorknob every morning before I went to work (at 5am). How or why would anyone think a neighbor could create this smell? It will over power cigarette smoke.... just an evil idea to spray it on their deck. Just make sure they don’t see you! Liquid Ass 2-Pack

As a smoker who smokes occasionally in her house, I will tell you that those smoke odor candles do work. Maybe it will help keep the smell to a minimum in your apartment.

I'm using an inexpensive sound level meter, along with my cellphone, I record the levels going off, (with my cellphone recording at the meter) and even if you can't clearly hear any low frequencies (because common mics have so much difficulty picking up these frequencies- you can clearly see that noise is happening.) Capturing pictures falling off the wall is more on the fly- whenever the stomping really gets going I whip out my cellphone and show the pictures rattling, (with no one near) and then sometimes falling. I use a meter similar to this It's really been interfering with my quality of life, so I was desperate to find something to prove the noise. It's so difficult to actually live record, so I turned to the sound level meter. *Edit, it is hard for people to imagine, but that meter shows that noise is really going on- the only other resort/option is inviting friends/family over to be witnesses. But with that recorder there's no way they can dispute that noise is happening. It's pretty frustrating, since most mics won't pick up low frequencies but with the sound level meter you can legally prove your case.
