If you need to use your own coffee, first you need to have a premium burr grinder, so that you will have the ability to produce nice creamy shots. To refill your Nespresso capsules, the grind size of the coffee is a super important factor to produce satisfactory results. The biggest change for third party refillable capsules is to maintain the pressure during the brewing. I will recommend you looking into those two products. Both of them will produce an exceptionally good shot if you control the coffee weight and the coffee grind size. Also, i provide you with a link for a good entry level grinder and capsule filling station. Hope that helps.

Hi there, I bought this machine on Amazon, and it makes great coffee. The price is good and I've been using it everyday since February. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MG4VR5H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm not sure what coffee type you drink, but for the morning, I like the Nespresso Envivo Lungo. It's a long coffee: https://alvinbunk.wordpress.com/2019/04/25/nespresso-envivo-lungo/

If you use something like the Nespresso Inissia, and make a Lungo, it will be ready in about 40 seconds; so it would work for your schedule. By the way, the coffee in the Nespresso capsules are great; I wouldn't bother with alternative capsules.

It's cool man, glad to help.

Grind the coffee relatively fine. Do not pack it down. It works perfectly. The nespresso pods are slightly better, I think they mix in something with their coffee like freezedried coffee or something.

u/DangReadingRabbit · 1 pointr/nespresso

There are no third-party capsules.

The most you can do is grind your own coffee and reuse the capsules you clean out, using something like the My Cap Kit

I do it occasionally, but the point isn’t to save money, it’s just to open up my options. It works well when you get the grind size right (very fine). I don’t think it works great with pre-ground coffee unless it’s the espresso/moka pot type.

French press might suit your needs perfectly. And of course, it's a little less convenient, as it needs boiling water + 5min brewing. But the french press itself is cheap, and you'll save tons of money on coffee, AND won't ruin the environment with those pods ;) (unless you do recycle them with Nespresso's program). As bogiesan says, pour-over might also be an option. If you want to try it, I'd recommend Vietnamese pour-over filter. Here's a cheap example on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Vietnamese-Infuser-Slow-Drip-Single-Cup-Stainless/dp/B002LKSS5Q/

Don't know if it's a good one, but $6 is cheap. The idea is that you put coffee in the filter, put the filter on top of your cup and pour boiling water over it.

Don't let the market or Nespresso Fancy Hipster Club decide what you like. Experiment and decide for yourself! It all depends on the grinds, water quality and technique.

Highly reccomend https://www.amazon.com/Insight-Nespresso-Vertuoline-Espresso-Included/dp/B0713P5Z3Q , it holds them great, has lots of space, and space will be saved as it is made for the machine to be placed on top. Free shipping, too.

Doesn’t hold a ton but we like to have something attractive and small for the counter when we have guests. When we don’t it sits in a cupboard we can easily access.

I haven't tried it out just yet, but check out the My-Cap on Amazon to refill existing pods you've used. It has pretty decent reviews.

I haven't tried them myself yet but they sell Starbucks by Nespresso capsules on Amazon. I've read they even smell like Starbucks coffee when they're brewed lol.

The best I have found is DIY capsules. You basically re-use old pods and put new foil caps on (to take use of the bar code). This allows you to put your own ground coffee in the pod.

One things I did, is use a pod from my favorite flavor of the VertuoLine (Since the barcodes are unique for each pod).

You can either do the entire DIY kit or you can just buy the foil caps by themselves.

Peet's Coffee Espresso Capsules Variety Pack 10 Each (40 Count) Compatible with Nespresso Original Brewers Single Cup Coffee Pods https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D5F7F2K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_06VDCbWAP0Z8C

As promised, 36cents a pod. I don’t know if its as good but its better.

u/4x4taco · 1 pointr/nespresso

I use this: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07XKW2H88

I had a metal one but found that the metal sagged a bit with the VertuoPlus on it and the water reservoir was leaning. Did not like that. The glass top is much better and keeps everything flat and level.

If you are shopping for a Nespresso machine today that is close to this, Amazon has the BNE800 version on sale right now ($260-$390, depending on the style/color you go for) and it looks like they also have a little "coupon" button up at the top that will give you either $64.98 off or $97.47 off, depending on style/color, at checkout if you click it. I'm not sure if this is a Black Friday deal so who knows how long the price or coupon will last.

u/thomas_dq · 2 pointsr/nespresso

Yes. Just find reusable OriginalLine compatible pods.

Sorry, they're called "Recap" not repack. My bad. Here is an amazon link to the ones I buy. I don't know how much they differ from the my cap brand, but I've gone through probably 500 of these and only had 1 fail in the machine... and I'm pretty sure that one was my fault.
