I love Robert the Bruce's story but didn't like this movie. Not sure why but I think it felt rushed and took too many liberties with actual history. Someone really needs to make a TV show about this time period. It's the only way to do it right.

BTW... if you really want to know the history you should read this book -- Robert the Bruce: King of Scots

I reads like fiction in places and that makes me wonder if it is completely accurate but it's one the best books I've ever read.

This was definitely a cult. There are resources out there by survivors that talk about it.

Check the first episode of Being There podcast for an inverview with someone who was born into the cult-

Also a book by another survivor-

Read the book. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0060560053/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0

It's much easier to believe. The author stumbled on this connection as a reporter in the late 80s and the experience changed his entire worldview.

Here's another book he wrote at the time. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0316091065/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i2

You can probably find these in your local library. They are absolutely worth reading.

After all these years, The Sandlot is still selling as many copies as Bambi, but I can buy that on DVD for $5. I genuinely can't believe that you're supporting Disney's business practices.

I had his gun. It shot foam darts and transformed from pistol to rifle. I still have dreams about that thing.

Edit: Found it on Amazon.

> I remember hearing in the mid 2000's that they were planning a sequel and the idea was some girl from a fire tribe needed heat for her people and the only source of heat powerful enough was a shard of the Dark Crystal.

They ended up not using that for a film but they did publish it as a comic book series. At least a dozen issues have been released to date.

I believe it was just called Snow White....I do however know that it was made by Sony Wonder. After some research, I realized that the dwarves were all named Joe (oops).

I couldn't find a proper clip (granted, with not very much research), but here's a little bit of it!

1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die

Unsure if there is a way to cross reference this list against what NF has. Source

u/virica · 1 pointr/netflix

The punisher has two versions.

A standard one and the extended cut on some dvd versions source.

As you can see the extended version touts of having over 17 extra minutes that were never shown

Netflix gets the standard version not the extended one.

Same thing happens with any show/movie that has a extended version

If you're interested, take a look at Michelle Alexander's The New Jim Crow for a very well-researched, scathing take on mass incarceration and the War on Drugs as a direct extension of Jim Crow and chattel slavery.
