Replying to my own comment with some purchasing recommendations:

2. Next level folding chair. The locking feature is sick, most comfortable camp chair I've owned.

My goto folding table. I've got a bigger 8 foot one if I'm camping with a big group but this small one is perfect for 1-4 people.

3. Highly recommend this charger. Will charge a typical iPhone like 5 times and has QC 3.0 built in (quick charge, which is a nice feature at a festival). Currently on sale for $40 if you clip the coupon, I've seen it as low as $30, they'll probably go on sale for black Friday and Christmas too.

5. Bring a box of these babies and if it gets cold, you've suddenly made like 40 friends.

6. Something like this is a good choice for makeup. In case you have to go back to camp and freshen up, the light is a nice touch.

  1. I usually just bring fruit, sandwich stuff (bread, pb&j,turkey & cheese) snacks(chips, jerky, granola bars) water and pedilyte. Stuff you don't have to cook. Every time I brought stuff to cook it just went to waste cause I'm either tired at the end of the night or hungover in the am and just don't feel like cooking. Plus the vendor food is pretty good and you don't have to pack extra shit like a grill and cooking stuff.

  2. Absolutely bring a canopy and chairs. Half the fun of camping at a fest is hanging out at your site and making new friends with your neighbors. Half my festival squad now is ppl I met at festivals in the past.

  3. This is personal opinion but bring battery packs to charge your phone and fill your tank up right before you get to the fest. That way you can charge your phone off your car in the am. The charging stations are cool but you either have to sit at em and wait for your phone to charge missing sets or trust a stranger that it's gonna be there when you get back.

  4. I have like 4 plastic tubs with all my gear and a foldable table. That way it makes it easier to pack my car I just throw the tubs in the car and go. At the site they fit nicely under my table. When I leave the site I throw everything in the tubs and put the lid on. Lock valuables in my car (radio, money, favors, anything you don't wanna lose) and go. Most the time every one is plur but I have had shit stolen at fests before.

5.Here is a great camping checklist.

6.My girl uses this https://www.amazon.com/CERSLIMO-Tape-lights-Dimmable-Countertop-Batteries/dp/B07F2C228M/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=battery+light+up+mirror&qid=1573487452&sprefix=Battery+light+up+mi&sr=8-3 We also bring a bunch of baby wipes to clean ourselves with at the end of the night. And just whenever you wanna feel fresh.

Get a cheap hanging shoe organizer and hang it from your easy up, you can store your snacks and stuff in it!

If you have the funds get a utility battery that can jump a car, I use one to keep 10+ phones topped up for the majority of the weekend. This is a newer model of the one I have.

Firefly lights a great way to illuminate the camp at night and one use of the batteries should last all weekend as long as you turn them off during the day.

Easy ups are usually 40-50 bucks at Dick’s sporting goods. Although my one regret is getting one with a larger footprint than the covered area (legs are angled outward). The ones that have the same covered area as the foot print (legs go straight up and down) are much better, especially when combining a few easy ups together!

All I got for now

You can probably just buy weed in the festival, and last year they sold rolling papers at the general store lol. Otherwise you're gonna have to deal with the inconsistent security. You'll have like a 1 in 10 chance of getting super-searched when getting into the fest.

One thing that some may overlook: recovery/hydration drinks.

This right here is worth its weight in gold: https://www.amazon.com/RecoverORS-Clinical-Rehydration-Poisoning-Hangover/dp/B00FOTDVS0/ref=sr_1_2_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1487343474&sr=1-2&keywords=RecoverORs

Did they look like these? They're not really blue at first glance but they are a dark blue gradient. I let my friend borrow them and she said that she lost them when walking to the grove:( she was pretty drunk so it very well could have been her lol https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0096M7R4A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ceyOAb4RC9V2S

You want a retractable flag pole or something that's not too long/retractable and lightweight. You want the totem to be something recognizable during daylight (bright color, specific shape, etc). You also want it to have some LEDs on it so your friends can find you at night. Make sure you have a switch so you don't waste batteries.

For example, one year at Bonnaroo we used a child's plastic hockey stick that's about 2 ft long and less than a pound in weight. To it, we attached a pink flamingo covered in tinsel. Then, we wrapped it in an ELwire for nighttime. It was very light and I could just hold it above my head if meeting up with friends.

I also have some friends that just used a light-up frisbee.

EDIT: over at r/DIY if you search for Totem, there are some really fancy ones with instructions if you want to go all out!

If you're not trying to sleep too many people

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004J2GUOU/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480421828&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=4+person+tent

Is a good tent for the price. Make sure you have a cooler and some solar chargers too. Gum, gold bond, baby wipes, comfortable shoes are all a must.

u/ChiefMcHeath · 7 pointsr/okeechobeemusicfest

These are cheap, effective and have worked well for me the last three years: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0015WJQ7A/ref=sxts1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1487442753&sr=1

They have a string that you can connect them around the back of your neck so if one falls out it stays tethered to the other.

Unless you wanna pay whatever money it is for showers then i suggest you get one of these bad boys! http://www.amazon.com/Coleman-2000014865-5-Gallon-Solar-Shower/dp/B0009PUT20/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1451936963&sr=8-3&keywords=camping+shower Partner it with some bio degradable soap or whatever and you can shower at your camp. While it wont be the best it'll definitely help get you clean and feeling fresh.

This minus the solar panel (apparently waterproof doesn't mean "can survive a downpour at electric Forest).

And if we're talking safety, what about the safety of the belongings of the attending folk? Clear bags seem to spell high risk of theft. I know most people have the best intentions, but I've seen people at other festivals who didn't have clear bags get their stuff pick-pocketed! Like I understand the fear of someone bringing a weapon in, but isn't that the purpose of searches? And what's going to happen when 90% of the attending folk are turned away for not having a clear bag...

That couch is DOPE! I just ordered this light-up flower crown that I am stoked for! I also got some glow in the dark temp tattoos but I don't think they'll get here in time :(.

If you see this trippy mushroom tapestry at camp, come say hi!

This is the Tick Key that I have. I picked mine up at Dicks sporting goods last year before Peach Fest.

u/Twisky · 1 pointr/okeechobeemusicfest

I didn't make a totem, but I had a 14' Portable Flagpole at my campsite.

If you saw a big brown guy with a pikachu beanie rocking out at Skrillex and Kill the Noise, that woulda been me =D I didn't want to be shoving everyone and blocking the view for people so I usually stood at the back or in front of a tree or something at most of the stages :)
