I am highly satisfied with my Pebble (official site, subreddit is /r/pebble), and full disclosure this is probably going to come off as fanboyish.

Basically there are two generations of Pebbles. The Pebble and the Pebble Time:^(Amazon_Smile_links_below)

Watch | Price | Description
--- | --- | ---
OG Pebble | $50-$70 | This is the original Pebble, it's an adorably fugly watch. Black and white 5-7 day battery life, the features are more limited than later generations. It is known to have a screen tearing issue after 1-2 years of use, but Pebble will replace it no questions asked as long as it's under warranty. Standard watchband without quick release. Waterproof. Battery life 5-7 days.
Pebble Steel | $99-$130 | The "stylish" version of the original Pebble. It's highly praised for its design, is also black and white, and features are more limited than later generations. It is known to have a screen tearing issue after 1-2 years of use, but Pebble will replace it no questions asked as long as it's under warranty. Standard watchband without quick release. Waterproof. Battery life 5-7 days.
Pebble Time | $99-$120 | The "lower tier" next gen watch. At first people didn't care for the design but once they got it complaints went away. It is much thinner than the OG Pebble, it has color screen, a microphone, and the hardware is upgraded to accommodate more complex apps and watchfaces. Quick release watchband. Water resistant. Battery life 5-7 days.
Pebble Time Steel | $150-$200 | The "higher tier" next gen watch. At first people complained about the large bezel, but in person it looks gorgeous. It's the same as the PT, except the it has a battery life of 7-9 days. The increased price is for the design and slightly increased battery life.
Pebble Time Round | $150-$200 | The newest released Pebble watch. Again, people at first complained about the bezel but seem to grown fond of it. There are "skins" out there that make it look more stylish by adding numbers around it (like a standard timepiece). It's even thinner than the PT or PTS, considered to be the more fancy Pebble watch. Same stats as all the others except battery life is 1-2 days, and at first apps and watchfaces were limited due to the round design. Since then there are plenty of app options. Less water resistant than PT or PTS, mostly good for a quick shower but not a swim.
Pebble 2 | $99-129 | (Lowest price is the early bird kickstarter, highest is retail) Pebble announced a new series of watches on May 24th. The Pebble 2 is the successor to the OG Pebble: it is black and white and made with plastic, but much more elegant. The processor, storage and ram have all improved to be equivalent to the PT/PTS hardwares, so more capable apps can be installed. The screen size is the same. It now supports smartstraps, includes a microphone and heart rate monitor.
Pebble Time 2 | $179-199 | (Lowest price is the early bird kickstarter, highest is retail) The Pebble Time 2 is the successor to both the Pebble Time and Pebble Time Steel. It is made of stainless steel, has more ram and storage, better processor, and the screen is 50% bigger. This means it the bezel much smaller! It also includes support for smartstraps, has a microphone and heart rate monitor.
Pebble Core | $69-99 | (Lowest price is the early bird kickstarter, highest is retail) This little device is the first non-watch release by Pebble. It's a tiny little box with a GPS, 4gb for storage, slot for a sim card, and bluetooth. Basically it's designed for runners: the GPS lets you track your runs, you can stream Spotify, load your own offline music to it, link it to you phone and watch. It's also advertised towards developers, has an access port and runs Android 5.

For comparison, Apple Watch and Android Wear smartwatches have a brighter screen that is absolutely gorgeous, but cannot be seen outdoors as well. The screen turns off if not in use to save battery life (battery life around 12-24 hours, similar to a smartphone). They have much more functionality and fancier features, like GPS and heart rate, along with a touch screen. It's like a mini smartphone on your wrist.

Some of the reasons I highly recommend the Pebble:

  • It is cheaper than most other smartwatches, but the quality is superb. A note: the bezel on the Pebble Time is known to scratch very easily, I recommend getting a screen wrapper from gadgetwraps.
  • Uncomparable battery life. The Pebble compared to Android watches or Apple Watch is like a Kindle compared to any tablet. Battery life is 7-9 days for the Pebble Time Steel, 5-7 days for the Pebble Time, or 1-2 days for the Pebble Time Round.
  • The screen can be seen in bright light, it's something like the old gameboy screens, as well as dark (shake to enable the light, just like a normal watch)
  • It's thin, much thinner than the Android Wear watches I've tried previously. It's also more stylish, and it has quick release for the bands to change the looks. Every couple weeks I switch from metal to leather or to nato bands.
  • It has a microphone, and various apps that make use of it. You can add stuff to the Timeline (calendar inside the watch), activate Google Now, someone even made it's own little Siri type thing.
  • It tracks your steps and sleep (if you want) and syncs it with Google Fit or Apple Health. Stats are viewable within the watch or within the Pebble app.
  • The timeline is really handy. You can "pin" stuff to the future to get reminded, your Google Calendar can sync with it so you see what's up for today, weather is shown for each day. If your a sports fan then scores are shown as well.
  • Lots of apps and watchfaces, vast majority free

I think what might interest people the most is the capability for smart straps. These straps can add additional functionality to the watch by connecting new hardware in the form of a strap. My personal favorites:

(Smartstraps are supported by all Pebble watches, including the new Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2)

  • A strap that measures your heart rate and integrates with Pebble Health (and thus Google Fit/Apple Health). Posed for release in August, 2016.
  • A strap that lets you pay for stuff without any credit card, even if your phone is not on you, and at any register. Posed for release in July, 2016.
  • A strap that has GPS and an extra battery, also integrates with Pebble Health (and thus Google Fit/Apple Health). The battery is supposed to give an extra 7 days of life to the watch. Posed for release in October, 2016.

Basically, I think of the Pebble as a normal watch with some smartphone features (replying to texts via voice or canned response, initiating texts, viewing notifications) and other bonuses (health stuff).

    Hope this helps!

I was inspired to do a better picture by u/noryork's stunning watch post.

Strap: 22mm black metal bracelet by Ritche (10 GBP, took 15 days to arrive from Hong Kong): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ritche-Stainless-Steel-Bracelet-Straight/dp/B00DKYC7TK

Wrap: SlickWraps.com Brushed Onyx wrap (6 GBP, took just seven days to arrive from Oklahoma): http://www.slickwraps.com/Brushed-Onyx-Pebble-p/sw-pw-msonyx.htm

Watchface: Studio Clock, free on Pebble Store

All in all it has a far better weight, the strap doesn't irritate or catch like the standard rubber one, it looks more mature and people keep asking me about it - so I'm happy!

I wanted a Steel, I didn't want to wait six weeks for one and not be able to order the metal strap. All in all, I'm very pleased.

Respect for wanting to help people out! :) And for valuing your own time too, doing all those steps takes up time. Quick heads up though: the P2 charcoal/red can be had for ~$77 on Amazon with prime shipping and easy replacements, and similar for the black Round at ~$85. So your target demographic might be smaller than expected. If you're already factoring that in, great! And I hope you didn't mind be saying.

it's polyurethane, super light and strong, you have to trim a lil bit of the plastic with a razor blade. super easy and a great band.

By far the best one that I've had. It's highly adjustable to fit perfectly on any wrist, waterproof (water actually beads up instead of smearing all over the place), and has the look of a steel type link without the painful hair/skin pinching. Very lightweight. You just need to shave off a little bit off the end of the band for it to fit, which is a very fast and easy procedure.

Did you email this exact address: [email protected] ? That is the exact address you should email this too.

Chances are the security details as you are providing them, are not correct as per the credit card company itself (not your bank). This could be home address, zip, cvv2 code, etc. I deal with this on a daily basis in the POS industry. Your bank may not be able to fix this, or even see this, for a few days. You may need to call the issuing bank as well.

If you're in a rush, why not pay with PayPal instead? Or obtain a temporary credit card number, or purchase a prepaid debit card from a grocery store? Or buy it retail? If you're in the US you can get a Steel from Best Buy.

Pebble also sells Steel directly on Amazon.com:

Just looked, the $69 dollar ones are now used but wireless cloud is still selling new for $74 and amazon fulfilled for $79. Not bad pricing. The reason Amazon fulfilled is important returns are easy if there is a problem.

u/fresh_owls · 4 pointsr/pebble

I was going to start a new thread, but this one seems close enough. What do y'all think will be the future of the resale value for existing Pebbles?

So far, it looks like used prices on Ebay have taken a decent drop, but they're still holding most of their value, generally. Meanwhile, it looks like new prices haven't updated (at least on Amazon).

Will the value continue to drop forever? Will the end of production drive an increase in demand and price? Will they become vaunted collectors' items, furthered by the open source dev community?? (One can hope.) What do you think?

u/samuraispy · 1 pointr/pebble

That pic looks like the Ritche band, which is actually a ~$1 cheaper w/ this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DKYC7TK

I'm happy with it so far, I really like the unlatching mechanism on the side. Finally got my official PTS band this week, so I might swap it out to see which I like better.

u/CaptainStarmander · 2 pointsr/pebble

Thank you for the reply. I'm thinking that I'd use it mainly as a remote control for music, since I typically keep my phone in my pocket, I thought that it would be nice to not have to stop jogging or w/e to dig out my phone to skip a track, or pause if I need to speak to someone. The fact that you can check texts and set alarms on it is just a HUGE bonus that I think I'd use somewhat regularly.

Yeah the price point is what really attracted me, the e-ink display I think makes sense for a smartwatch, since it is always on, and doesn't require a backlight the whole time.

I'll have to look into the Pebble 2 (is this a decent one?). I think I've narrowed it down to Pebble Time and Pebble 2 series, and now it's just the cosmetics that have me hesitant to pull the trigger. How does the Pebble Time look/feel? I kind of got the impression that it felt kind of cheap and plasticy, which was a bit of a turn off for me. Kind of like those old calculator watches from 30 years ago.

Is there any specific advantage to the color display? I kind of though that there might be more that you could do with it, but when I think about it, all I really need is text to read, which doesn't need to be in color.

u/almightywhacko · 3 pointsr/pebble

For $99, the Pebble Time is a pretty compelling purchase even with the Pebble 2 and Time 2 coming out this fall. I mean, you'll get all of the features of the newer watches with the exception of a heart rate monitor for half the original price (and current Pebble.com price) of the Classic Pebble you are replacing.

u/saltedlolly · 3 pointsr/pebble

I have a black Pebble, but I was never a fan of the gloss finish - I felt it made it look cheap. I therefore decided to make it matt which in my opinion makes it look much better. I combined the Gadget Wraps black matt screen protector with a Luminox black silicon strap. The blacks are not a 100% match but the difference is so small that I don't even notice.

Matt Black Wrap: http://www.gadgetwraps.com/devices/pebble-watch/matte-black-pebble-watch-wrap.html

Luminox Strap: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004HZBOWM/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B004HZBOWM&linkCode=as2&tag=withnaiulti0b-20

I really like the end result. It's very understated. In fact most people don't even notice the watch, which I like.

Here's a pic!

I ordered my Skinomi TechSkin off Amazon on Monday when I ordered my Pebble from Best Buy. Pebble will be in today, the skin on Monday. Will check back with a review (has very high praise on Amazon).

Check it out here - As of today it is still on sale for $6.95

u/gfolk · 1 pointr/pebble

I know it's not the official band, but if I had a black pebble I'd definitely be looking at the Truffol band. It has quick release pins too as a bonus.

Amazon themselves are now selling the black Pebble Time for $70. Again, no idea how to buy more than 3 via their web site, but I'm sure customer service would be happy to take a $7000 order (or maybe less with negotiation?).

It's this one. Pretty popular around Pebble HQ, although you do have to do a slight modification for it to fit the Pebble (it's not quite a standard 22mm band).

I own both watches and I use the PTR for my day to day and switch to my Pebble Time for weekend trips or vacations.

u/_pixelheart · 5 pointsr/pebble

Even though messaging is restricted, if you're on Verizon or att, they do let you voice reply which works pretty well. I've only had my PT for a few days and I've come to use Thaf when I'm driving or doing something else. It'll send that person a normal text but that reply will not show in your messages app, so it looks like a one way conversation. Groupon has them for cheap refurb or you can go through Amazon here and here

I find it more comfortable than the official pebble steel band because it is more flexible and not so rigid.

Amazon is slowly reducing the prices for all the models, sold by Pebble AFAIK.
I'm waiting for the Slver PTR to drop prices, and so far it's gone from U$169 to U$149. Still going to wait some more, but It's a pretty big deal for its rarity here in Brazil.

Keep in mind that they changed the design when I got mine, and it doesn't actually fit in the Pebble without some slight modifications. Have a blade ready to trim the sides a bit. Definitely worth it.

u/Zetaphor · 3 pointsr/pebble

I saw the 6-8 week shipping time and decided to go with this Truffol instead. Glad I did, the quality is stunning.

u/spangborn · 1 pointr/pebble

u/TimothyDahBomb · 3 pointsr/pebble

There was a listing for both the Gold and Silver polished rounds on Amazon US. I believe the Silvers are all gone but there still seems to be some Gold ones left. I payed US$129.99, however they are going for a bit more right now. (Still less than the US$200 Kickstarter price)
As far as I know, these Pebbles were manufactured for the Kickstarter rewards but were auctioned off to this Amazon seller when Fitbit bought most of the company.

You can buy the Pebble Time for 65€ including free shipping to the Netherlands at Amazon Germany: https://www.amazon.de/Pebble-Time-Smart-Watch-schwarz/dp/B0106IS5XY. Might save a few bucks if you also check Amazon UK at time of buying.
It's not yet as cheap as some of the American posts we've seen here, but I think it's a fair price. I'm even thinking about buying one ahead to have one in stock when mine will eventually (in some years) have lost its life.

I've have exactly the same band for about 9 months, and I really like it as well. I couldn't find it on eBay at the time -- I found it on Amazon.

It's a Ritche stainless steel band. It pulls out the hair on my arm, but it looks nice and that's all that matters.

u/tralce · 2 pointsr/pebble

Personally I'm an enormous fan of the Truffol band. I have the black PTS and the black band. The black one at least doesn't look as two-toned as it does in Amazon's pictures. I have no idea how the silver one looks. This band feels like something worth a lot more than $40.

u/SomeTechNoob · 2 pointsr/pebble

Basically any watchband with a width of 22mm should fit just fine.

Maybe a band like this, from Truffol: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0111I89ES/

or even a generic milanese band: http://www.ebay.com/itm/361422822265?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=630782740264&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I mean, there are just so many options: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=22mm+watch+band

Considering that the Pebble Time Steel is a relatively new-shipping product(heck, a Kickstarter, still), the delay on the metal watchband is somewhat explainable.

Nevertheless, it's not really an excuse for pebble to include low-quality bands. As for the small screwheads - they're not that uncommon among metal watchbands.

u/InternetUser007 · 1 pointr/pebble

Check out poly watch on Amazon. A lot of people have reported good results at fixing Pebble scratches.

u/iBUYStars · 2 pointsr/pebble

The Pebble Time Steel's link bank AFAIK has no half-link to remove.

Your only option if you want that half-link option is to get a third-party link band; Truffol has some great antique link and two-tone metal bands.

u/andymc1989 · 1 pointr/pebble

It's currently £93.84, I expect it'll be 10-30% off. Enjoy!

I recommend you to check out Amazon US. I live in Istanbul and bought a Pebble Time Steel Gold for $87+shipping a couple of days ago. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011VB1X6Q

It's identical to the one wore by Eric Migicovsky:

http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Polyurethane-Bracelet-Luminox-Watches/dp/B004HZBOWM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451756334&sr=8-1&keywords=polyurethane+band

If you're a Brit, you'll likely need to find the one from Amazon UK, which is slightly more expensive and has some engraving on the buckle, as the one from the US won't deliver here, last I checked!

Also do check eBay for Polyurethane bands as well.

u/ErPanfi · 1 pointr/pebble

Ok, maybe I'm posting the wrong link, but have you considered searching on Amazon.com?

Where do you live, btw? I've just got mine from Italy at a slightly higher price, and this is like twice as affordable as you mentioned :-)

u/tripl_b · 1 pointr/pebble

I pre-ordered through the Pebble site on Aug 4th and cancelled my order today. I then bought the same watch through Amazon for the same price with free 1-day delivery.

u/CupricWolf · 2 pointsr/pebble

I did some cursory searching on amazon.com and I think it may be this one.

Not very hard to find since it's the first result for "pebble watch band" (at least for me, with my previous amazon searches and whatnot).

Edit: I was searching in the watches section as well.

certainly not much of a consolation prize, but this is the first time I've seen a refurbished model on amazon.com that would ship to canada: https://www.amazon.com/Pebble-Time-Smartwatch-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B01CUV2ZA4/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1496940567&sr=8-9&keywords=pebble+watch

Like /u/Simoneister said, they're easy to find but this is the band in the picture

u/rykhan · 2 pointsr/pebble

Amazon.com is the best I've found so far. It's in USD, but will ship to Canada.

u/ozdreaming · 2 pointsr/pebble

I like the two-tone steel bracelet I bought from Truffol. You can see a list of their 22 mm bands on Amazon or on their website.

u/theodopolis13 · 1 pointr/pebble

yeah, i've been waiting for the pts to go on sale in the us.

edit: it's on sale!

u/L0wPressu7e · 3 pointsr/pebble

It's original kickstarter one, I guess.

With the shipping cost I'd buy it for the price of new Apple Watch though... and there are new PTR for 110$ on amazon . So that you all know.

u/UsernameIRegret · 2 pointsr/pebble

I got it off Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0111I8A4C/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It looks nice but is really lightweight so if that's not your thing stay away, I prefer heavier bands but I bought this back when I was still expecting my Pebble Time 2 to come mail so the return window closed.

u/moby323 · 1 pointr/pebble

I actually bought it from StrappedForTime. It was a little more expensive there, but claims that it is superior because it uses screws instead of pins. Anyway, here is the link on Amazon

EDIT:

Redditor w4k said he bought the amazon version and it didn't fit perfectly. Here is the link to the exact one I bought

u/jin_from_lost · 1 pointr/pebble

Same thing on amazon. PT and PTS

You can probably get some other used or new ones on ebay for cheaper depending on the model.

u/duffydick · 1 pointr/pebble

A see the PTR at £139.99 in amazon uk, do you think this is a good deal?

u/erOhead · 57 pointsr/pebble

Oh man, always weird to see my arms. It's a Pebble Time, black. With a 3rd party lightweight sport rubber strap (my favourite): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004HZBOWM/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_V-Abvb0PWWY38

u/SpikeX · 1 pointr/pebble

It's prime-eligible on Amazon.

And if you don't have Prime, shame on you. Go get it right now.

This one

I tried to ship it to brazil but it's not available :/

I also found this link showing how to ship to brazil, I guess it's through normal postal service. I think you, as an american, will understand this better than I did.

u/StewHo · 1 pointr/pebble

Sorry for being so late with it, but I only just now was able to find it on Amazon. Here you go.

u/Cermi3 · 3 pointsr/pebble

I found one exactly like the Pebble, but with a color screen. Brand New and $5 cheaper than the Amazfit bip.

u/AliasVortex · 2 pointsr/pebble

I use this one from Truffol with my Time Steel when I want to dress it up. It's never struck me as a jarringly different color, but there's plenty of pictures in the reviews if you want to get an idea of the match.

u/jonathanp63 · 1 pointr/pebble

I bought a screen protector off Amazon last night. It's not the brand you suggested, though. Is this sufficient?

I think he picked them up off amazon here for 20 used. Now there about ~$25 give or take.

£100 on Amazon atm

I just paid £90 for mine (new), really enjoying it so far. Was going to hold out for the PTS2 but since there's nothing in concrete yet I made the jump.

No regrets :)

u/haggur · 1 pointr/pebble

Here you go (I got it slightly wrong: it was £69.98).

They've also got ordinary Pebble Times for £53.99 but I thought the extra £16 was worth it for the longer battery life.

u/Northeastpaw · 3 pointsr/pebble

The Pebble Time Steel has a metal body and Gorilla Glass screen. It's stylish and definitely doesn't look like a toy. The battery lasts 10 days which makes the watch rather hefty if that's a concern. You can replace the stock leather band with any 22mm band.

The Time Round also has a metal body. It's very thin which is an engineering marvel. This thinness does mean it's battery life is around a day and a half to two days, but it charges in about 15-20 minutes so a quick charge in the morning is sufficient for regular use. Like the PTS you can swap out the stock leather band; the PTR comes in 20mm and 14mm lug widths so choose a band that matches your lug width.

The OG Pebble Steel might also work, but be aware that all of the OG Pebbles, Steel included, will experience what's called screen tearing. It's a design defect that can be repaired yourself, but it doesn't have a permanent fix. The older OG Pebbles also miss out on Pebble Health if that's important to you.

u/notmyname1 · 1 pointr/pebble

Just in case you're still on the fence...While I went with the Time Round because of its size, you may also want to consider the Pebble Time Steel. It's currently $199 on Amazon. Yesterday, the Round was also $199, although it appears to be up to $225 today.

On Amazon, both the PTS and PTR can be purchased for $199 (well, as of this posting anyway). Not saying I disagree with your other arguments but the price has been $199 since before Christmas.

The price is currently £93.87 - down from £99.99. Lowest price on Amazon UK was £92.83 on Nov 23 (source: Camelcamelcamel).

Edit: None of the links are affiliate on my part. Just posted this here because I've seen plenty of other people link to sales in the past.

Pebble Time
Edit: I get it now...I was wrong. I wasn't aware of the unreleased, highly desired Time 2.

u/blaqkplastic · 2 pointsr/pebble

I have the same watchband. Unfortunately, it's currently unavailable. I can't find it on eBay either.

u/cloroxbb · 3 pointsr/pebble

Sorry man, but most people can get a brand new Pebble Time for the same or lower price.

$107 new on Amazon

$90 refurbished on Groupon

u/EbolaNinja · 3 pointsr/pebble

It's currently 199$ on amazon.com. It is possible to ship it to the UK. Be warned that in the US all prices don't include VAT because it differs in different states. I checked that shipping to the UK + VAT adds up to 247$ total (171£). Still worth it, but not as cheap as it looks. Also, customs can and probably will delay the shipping process.

u/RagingReptar · 2 pointsr/pebble

Holy shit didnt you put a protective case over it! Try putting some poly on it ? Get it here on Amazon

u/Sane-eyes · 1 pointr/pebble

I got this one from Amazon (UK, but think it's on US too): http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00DKYC7TK?pc_redir=1404661629&robot_redir=1. Switched it myself and had no problems whatsoever.

u/pussifer · 1 pointr/pebble

That depends on what you consider a reasonable price. I paid $100 all said and done. It was the one with the leather band, too. IMO, totally worth it, but like I said above, I might have a problem.

That said, for NIB, regular Times are still going for like $90, so I figured why the hell not, ya know?

Edit: Link. This was on Amazon US. No idea how this would translate for any other locale.

Edit^2 : Apparently, they're out of stock. I think there were only 2 left. Sorry.
