They make small tools to make it easier, but you can do it with any thin, flat tool.

Here's an easy video that shows you how. I'd recommend NOT using a knife, as you don't want to cut the band - a small flat-head screw-driver, or even a thin metal putty knife would do the job nicely.

Does that help?

They're standard 22mm spring bars, can get them off Amazon, or most anywhere that sells 22mm watchbands.

Make sure that you didn't damage / widen the spring bar pockets in the plastic body of Pebble. They should be nice and round and clean. If you did make them into oval shapes, crack them, etc, then this can keep happening and you'll basically need to replace the Pebble.

A good spring bar tool goes a long way to prevent this, and is worth every penny. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005ZEWGSA

I just used this stuff:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BXYWXY8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

to reassemble a Time Steel that I replaced the battery in. Worked great. It's probably not water proof anymore, but with two layers of it, it's probably at least splash resistant.

I peeled the previous double stick material off (it's actually pretty easy with just fingernails alone) and then placed one layer on the plastic gasket, and one layer on the underside of the screen. Getting the screen reconnected was a little tricky and required the use of a long thin metal tool, you might be okay with just a flathead screwdriver.

I personally didn't like a metallic band with the pebble, because all the watch vibrations cause the metal to buzz rather loudly. I don't have a red pebble, but I switched to a hadley roma silicone band and am very happy with it. Here's a red one, it's cheap, but look great and is very versatile. . http://www.amazon.com/Hadley-Roma-MS3344RQ-220-Genuine-Silicone/dp/B005EJG6S2/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1368724193&sr=8-15&keywords=hadley+roma+silicone+watchband

If you have a Pebble Time or Time Steel, then I recommend the Truffol steel band: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0111I89LQ/

I bought the "gunmetal gray" version for my black Pebble Time Steel. It looks great, and it's very comfortable.

Here's the band:

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07CBX5R49/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I haven't ran yet with it so I can't say anything about its airiness, but it does have lots of holes. It's a bit harder to put on than standard 22mm bands but once you know how to do it it's pretty easy. Here's some more pics of me wearing the band I guess https://imgur.com/a/bFLyFQo

Also here's a link to the dock I bought https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B015ZG03KU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it's more expensive than the eBay versions but it was eligible for prime and I needed my pebble so free 2 day shipping it was.

Other people really love GadgetWraps, but I grabbed these off of Amazon and have had a positive experience for the last 8+ months.

Yeah! So cheap, but great quality

My PTR can track my sleep without having to design a strict daily charging plan

My PTR allows me to set a couple of apps to be opened quickly

You can buy an official charging cable or even a third party cable for a small fraction of the Apple Watch cable price.

In the end is a matter of preference. I've used AW, Fitbit and Pebble and I love my Pebble. I won't go back.

What kind of metal straps do you generally like? I recently posted about a milanese mesh metal band I've been wearing with my P2, which was pretty cheap, and wears well. I also generally like Truffol's 2-tone bands (see their Amazon page too). I have a Truffol band in silver (bought in advance for the PT2 that never was), but I don't use it much since it doesn't match the P2 well.

u/UpvotingJesus · 5 pointsr/pebble

I just got my PTR a few days ago and ordered a cheap ($11!) stainless steel band from Amazon. It showed up a few hours ago and the install and sizing took some patience, but I'm really happy with the results.

I haven't seen too many pictures of round Pebbles with metal bands... anyone else swap theirs yet?

u/Cralex-Kokiri · 2 pointsr/pebble

I picked up a 14mm Pebble Round because they seem relatively cheap compared to the other size. I found this band on Amazon and decided to give it a try. I’m liking it so far. It’s wide, but not too wide for the watch. The buttons are easy to reach and it can even be charged without taking it out of the band. u/hate_picking_names · 1 pointr/pebble

If you do plan on using a pebble for this, I would recommend a mount like this.

I have one and it works great for mounting on the handlebars.

u/almightywhacko · 3 pointsr/pebble

You probably need more standard 22mm springbar's like these ones

The one's you linked to look like they are intended for a specific brand or model of watches and if you read the comments many people said that they were too thick for their watch.

As side note, you should be able to go to any watch retailer or jewelry store to get pins for a buck or two. Most places have multiple sizes and styles of pins available so they should be able to find ones to fit the Pebble.

u/Corix · 1 pointr/pebble

looks like the little nub is gone for the quick release pin
link

they sell a tool on amazon link that might do it, or try one of the small screwdriver sets, you can get them at any home goods store something like this, i bought mine at Harbor Freight near where I live.

I got a silicone band from GadgetWraps and I'm happy with it. It's slightly harder to put on than the original leather but it's waterproof, much more durable, and I think looks as good if not better. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D1XDFLS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My favorite thing about this particular stand is that it uses micro USB and has the pebble charger built in, essentially giving me an extra charger.

u/sto7 · 1 pointr/pebble

I have one too, and I like it!
Add some quick release spring bars, and changing strap band just takes a few seconds. Perfect to switch from a sport band to a more "dressed" one.

(You'll need to make a cut in most bands to let the quick release nub out.)

Edit: only thing I haven't found yet is a third-party 22mm steel band with quick release lugs.

u/ssublime23 · 1 pointr/pebble

I use this one with my red pebble and it looks and works great. http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B005EJG6S2

Thanks for the advice! I ended up going with the HAMMER strap. However I will end up getting the NATO in a month or two, this is a gift from someone, so they wanted to know which to order. I assume you own the band you linked, so I was curious if you could answer something. I use THIS charging dock. Do you think the Premium NATO Band you linked, would have enough "give" in the strap that I could place it on there without taking the whole strap off?

pebble time steel refurbished

Also been seeing off and on deals like this on eBay and other sites.

u/eeweew · 2 pointsr/pebble

It is better to use this stuff, http://www.amazon.com/Eco-Fused-Adhesive-Sticker-Phone-Repair/dp/B00BXYWXY8

That is what was used in the first place. Remove the tape, place new, and compress.

u/Footba11Joe · 1 pointr/pebble

I got this one and think it looks good! Sorry for the link - I'm on mobile... https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00T96B32K/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This one in antique black. I'm shipping the black one over to see if I like that color more.

u/mistergreg · 1 pointr/pebble

Looks like the white one is on sale right now on Amazon.

u/cftvgybhu · 1 pointr/pebble

The band I bought did not come with pins and the pins in my Time band wouldn't easily come out.

Links to what I purchased: band, pins

Edit: Just saw this kit which comes with 4 pins, tool and similar band. Better starter kit, worth it for pins & tool alone.

u/get_N_or_get_out · 1 pointr/pebble

Oh man, that's a shame about the blue, guess I'll have to keep my eyes peeled. For the pink, is this the same one? For $20 I feel like I might as well just get one!

u/crueller · 2 pointsr/pebble

It depends what color you want. The gold ones can be had for much less. Amazon currently has it for $80

You only have scratches, not cracks, so you can hide them (at the slight cost of visibility) and protect the glass in the future by getting a wet install screen protector from IQ Shield or Gadgetwraps (or other manufacturers, but I know those 2 do it for sure)

Here's one I found https://www.amazon.com/Pebble-Protector-LiQuidSkin-Coverage-Anti-Bubble/dp/B01IDQ922O/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1T693L1VBW5OI&keywords=pebble+2+screen+protector&qid=1554573633&s=gateway&sprefix=pebble+2+scr%2Caps%2C188&sr=8-2

I bet this would work if you supplied your own quick release pins.

u/9512tacoma · 2 pointsr/pebble

22mm Metal Band Quick Release (Samsung Gear S3, Fitbit Blaze, Pebble 2 / Time Steel), Truffol Stainless Steel Link Strap (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GRIHGBY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_NGizybG39KNJB

u/plto · 3 pointsr/pebble

The quick release springs themselves seem to be a standard item and are available on Amazon. But the band has to be compatible with them. A standard leather band can probably be easily modified, a steel band will be a bit more difficult.

u/addcn · 1 pointr/pebble

If it's just the rod that's broken, then you can get a replacement pin
